Want to start doing this program. Need advice about calorie while doing the program intake from those who were successful. I am 36, 5 ft 3in and 111lbs. I have never done a weight program in the past. I am the definition of skinny fat and need help!

I just started today except I'm 5'10" and 339#. My goal is to get really strong and a side effect will be losing weight and toning. I looked at what MFP suggested for calories and then took quite a bit off b/c I really need to lose the weight so I'm at 1800 calories. You sound like you're right where you need to be and the strong lift program will get you into the shape you want. I'd think that the maintenance intake would be good. (I've seen some other women mention this as well that are doing strong lifts)
Good luck on your journey. If you need encouragement send a friend request my way!0 -
At minimum you'll want to eat at maintenance...probably a very small surplus. Also, give this a read...

Thanks for the link! That's awesome. I am just starting 5x5 and reading up on anything I can find.0 -
It is all but impossible to figure exactly how many calories you burn weightlifting, so you are really going to have to do it by trial and error. Go to an online TDEE calculator or 2, pick a number, and see what happens after a month. Adjust as necessary.0

I agree at your weight maintenance would be key for you.
I am currently doing the program too but not quite at 155...*rolls eyes* so eating at a deficet.
And there is no way to really tell how many calories it burns...and a hrm wont tell you either.
Lifting weights esp strength building programs are about that building strength..0 -
