phew... been having leg trouble but hope to get back into it on Monday... good to read everyone's progress... haven't forgotten my Easter goal and still aiming for it
-
thanks for this. I'm about to go but I'm nervous about holding people up in my lane.

had my 2nd swim lesson today. did lots of drills. still got a way to go to meet my Easter goal of 12 lengths non-stop
-

thanks for the support, guys. I'm so glad I found this group! Curly, I really think in my case it was partly getting my fitness up doing heaps of aqua jogging over the last couple weeks, and also in the swim lesson we focused on drills. So it was a combination of drills, improving my technique and improved fitness. and I…

started my swim classes today and managed to swim 4 lengths non-stop! yay! I know that sounds like nothing to many but my Easter goal is to swim 12 lengths non-stop, and considering I couldn't swim one length non-stop at the start of the year, I'm happy. definitely feel fitter from all the aqua jogging I've been doing...

this is a good point for me to remember. I get frustrated and bored with the drills but must try to remember that it all leads to better technique in the long-run

went back to the pool last week for a couple aqua jogs after injuring my knee the other week. felt good. next week I start lessons to improve my swimming technique so I can reach my swimming goal of swimming 12 lengths non-stop by Easter. hanging in there and still loving the water

no swimming for a few days for me... I have knee pain. I swear I'm the only person I know who injures themselves from aqua jogging and swimming in the shallow end of the pool! have a physio appointment on Tuesday so hopefully will get back on track soon..

Also I find that if I eat a meal 2 to 3 hours before I go swimming that I don't get the usual munchies after training.

I've lost nearly 2 kgs since the start of the year. I think that's about 4.4 lbs. I have been keeping an eye on my calories, though. I have read online that an hour of swimming or aqua jogging can burn at least 500 calories. I usually make between 45 minutes to an hour each session.

yes, I have a couple rash shirts and shorts as well as some swimsuits. good to have options
-
:D yes! keep up the great work!

I did 22 lengths today--some of them I swam (kind of), some of them I floated, some of them I walked ... can't wait for my lessons to start
-
speedos ;)
-
LOL good spotting! I didn't even see that and it's my job to spot errors like that! ;)
-
did another 21 lengths of aqua jogging (I'll do some actual swimming in time--promise) and even managed to pass some people (a first for me)!
-
yep went again today.. did 20 lengths aqua jogging
-
are you trying to be funny?
-
wow... impressive stats not today but yesterday I aquajogged 20 lengths.. and today I booked swim lessons to start in 2 weeks to improve my technique
-
agreed :)
-
haha... I like your attitude! well, I wore my new swimsuit to the pool tonight and survived! actually, I bought two more swimsuits cos they were on sale, and one is a smaller size ;)
-
:) Thanks guys. I've just gone out and bought a new swimsuit... I'm ready... ;)
-
yep, I am looking up classes right now as I type. the next one starts in 2 weeks... nervous... :\
-

-
I plan to swim at least twice a week
-
oh, it's on!!! :p
-
:\ jeepers... I'm impressed with some of these goals. I feel like a kindergartner trying to hang out in the playground with high school kids

I'm a weak swimmer but swimming is the only kind of exercise I can do due to leg issues. Fortunately, I LOVE being in the water, so I've decided to set a swimming goal that will both push me physically and mentally and be a useful life skill. I currently cannot swim one length of the pool (25 metres) without stopping at…
