You can try to earn more calories through exercise but regardless of what you earn, don't stop youself from eating a scheduled meal. Choose a healthy option and have your meal as usual. You don't have to starve youself to keep your goals. Learn from today and tomorrow is another day.

Yes! I start my day with cake: either a May West, Joe Louis or Ah Caramel bar; 170 cals per bar. This bar singlehandedly keeps me away from donuts, chocolate bars, etc. I can turn these down without even blinking, something I could/would never do before.

Ah, yes, welcome to the world of Pear shapes. But then again, who said that's not the way we are supposed to look like?

Amazing!!!!! :noway: You are an inspiration!

This concept scares me, I've been doing it for the past couple of days and the idea of eating more calories than my "magic number" freaks me out!

I keep mine as sedentary, because I'm afraid to exaggerate my efforts by accident and get my calories wrong.

I bumped it because this thread was referenced in another, recent thread and I wnted to read it but did not have time at that moment. Now that I read through it, I find that it's not what I expected.

This is ED territory... MFP seems to be very health-minded, and purging is quite the opposite. If you purge, or think of purging, there is a lot more going on psychologically than just wanting to get rid of excess food in your stomach. It may be time to ask yourself some serious questions about your current well being, and…

On my cheat day yesterday I clocked in at 2615 cals. Pizza and fries, and a few chocolates, too. I must admit that I was disapointed, though. I thought this freedom to eat more would be satisfying, but I was left feeling queasy instead.

Aargh! Tell me about it! I've always had those. When I was a teenager (about 14), I weight 140ish pounds and my waist was small but the saddle-bags were horrible. All the fat was there and it looked so disproportionate it was ridiculous. Gaining 20lbs over the years actually helped with the overall proportions. Mind you, I…

You skip a tasty treat so you can "afford" a more calorie-rich meal later.

I happened to watch it today too, usually I don't, and I liked this part but then he went on to "bust another myth"; this one about being more prone to gain weight when eating at night. He said it's true. He compared 1400 cal eaten in daytime vs nighttime and said people retain more of these same cals at night... He had 2…

Good job! :drinker:

I say why not. If it is your wish to focus on your calorie intake to lose weight then that's your prerogative. It's your life and your journey. And if you track correctly, at 1400 you will get results. The time might come when you want to reintroduce exercise into your life, and that's your call. It's nice to get advice…

I have a fruit around 3pm everyday, it keeps me satisfied until dinner. The usual is: banana, apple of pear. I'll go for the lighter fruit if I had a heavier lunch, and vice versa. I guess it's about spreading your food evenly thoughout the day. It works for me, anyway, maybe it can help you, too.

I did low carb for 3 weeks and lost close to 10lbs. It was okay, I find that it curbs your appetite. Then, I stopped denying myself of carbs and I gained it back... and then some. So it's not for everybody, but you can get results. It's a long term lifestyle and you have to ask yourself if you're up for this particular…

Since I've always been overweight I'd say it started with bad eating habits growing up (fat parents, fat children) and then when I was old enough to do something about it... I didn't. I still ate too much, ate the wrong foods and just kept going at it, even though I knew better. And it doesn't help that I turned to food as…

Exactly! It's all about perspective... but it's tough, easier said than done.

Put on you PJ and go curl up on the couch and watch tv. Then, when you feel up up for it, get dressed and go to the store and get one chocolate bar, your favorite one, but just one, and go home. Go back to the couch, eat your chocolate. If necessary, take a nap. Have a "me" day, it won't kill you, and tomorrow is another…
