I think I decided on two packs of dole banana dippers. No cider in house unfortunately. But these have yummy chocolate! Thanks all for the ideas! That was fun.

Wish I could do all those lol.

I was very disappointed in that choice the teacher made. But we do want kids to start thinking for themselves, so I thought this was a perfect counterpoint.

I'm thankful for the link because my 13 year old just watched super size me at school and came home a little worried about fast food. I had to remind her that it's all about the choices we make regardless of circumstances. So this was a good thing to watch with her this morning.

35 pounds, took me 8 years to learn how to lose weight properly and keep it off. I've been at maintenance for about a year

You're welcome to see my diary. It's full of fun food. I've been doing this for a long time and am at maintenance so please forgive the quick add meals.

Shouldn't you count sleeping too? You burn calories when sleeping. Wear your watch at night also I'm guessing.

Yes, the long term part of this means that I've had to decide what things I can give up forever, what things I have to learn to eat in moderation, and I also had to learn that I will most likely have to be consciously thinking about maintaining my weight for my whole life. I will probably never be able to trust my…

It took me almost ten years after deciding to lose weight to learn all the things I needed to learn about nutrition in order to be successful. But once I finally figured out the lifestyle and equation that worked for me, it did look easy and simple from the outside. But it has been a long difficult journey for me.…

I think the reason I'm taller is that dancing has improved my posture

I just found out I'm a half inch taller than I thought which was a lovely surprise

I am at maintenance and have been for over a year. I have sweet treats, full calorie, every day. Ice cream, dark chocolate, etc . I just work it into my calories.
-
Mine is open but keep in mind I'm in maintenance and have been doing this for a long time so I don't log the way a new person should. Does that make sense?

I've been at maintenance for about a year as well. I set myself a 10 pound range. When I get close to the top part of the range, I lower my calorie goal . this summer I realized that I wasn't getting as much exercise for various reasons, and that my daily life is more sedentary in the summer. So I lowered my daily…

We like bison bars (think less dehydrated jerky) and bearded brothers bars (similar to Lara bars but yummier).

My grandma is 4 foot 11 and maintains a healthy weight. She was explaining to me once that she can only eat like tea and toast for breakfast, half a sandwich for lunch, etc. It's lame for her but she's figured out how to sustain a healthy weight with her small body. Makes me glad I'm a few inches taller...

I agree with above advice. I also had similar problems. I eventually got to the point where I would say "if I cook like that all the time I will get fat. Do you want me to be fat?" Usually he gets it. Nine years in to healthy eating and he's starting to make healthy choices on his own... So it can work.

I had a great trainer at the y. I had very specific goals. I wanted to lose body fat down to 25%, I wanted to improve my balance and stability, and I wanted to be able to keep up with my husband while hiking. I explained this when I talked to the head trainer, and he was able to match me up with a great guy. My trainer…

I'm 5'6". My starting weight was 195. Current weight is 160. My goal weight is a range of 155 to 165. I've been maintaining for about a year. When I see the scale at the top end of my range I start concentrating more on calories.

Whenever I put on shoes my dog thinks she gets to go for a walk or hike. It's becoming harder to turn her down.
-
Some of it might be water weight. That should come off when you get back from vacation.

My goal weight is 160. I have a lot of muscle for Irish dancing and I love my body at this weight. Based on my experience with my own body it would be almost impossible for me to get below 150 with out losing muscle. I've been maintaining 160 for about a year.
