  • Woot Woot! That is an awesome NSV!!!
  • Kalamazoo here!
  • There is a Bridge to 10K program that follows behind C25K. I've heard people have had pretty good success with that one too. Congrats on being an almost graduate!
  • You may notice that you have to work a little harder outside. The treadmill keeps you moving forward whereas on the pavement, it's all up to you to propel yourself forward. Don't worry too much about it - you are building strength and endurance and you will adjust to the change pretty quickly. Besides, there is not much…
  • I agree! I have been waffling about a run on December 3 because I am only on week 2 of C25K, but I'm going for it! I think sighning up for the run will keep me motivated to stay with the program. By the time the run gets here, I will be at the end of week 5 so it will be interesting to see how much I actually can run.
  • I have the opposite problem - mine is higher than I would like for it to be. What type of exercises, or just cardio in general, would you suggest to lower it?
  • That's my goal this week - to log everything good, bad, or ugly!
  • I'm not going anywhere. I posted a .1 pound loss this week, but my hubby told me he can see a difference in me. I guess that's what counts. I took a before picture this morning and posted my measurements for the 100 Day challenge. I'm going to use that hideous picture of me at this weight, along with those measurements to…
  • Do you have a place to rent it from first? I love mine, but the classes are definitely better. The Wii game definitely will make you sweat though!
  • Wow! You are doing AMAZING!!! What an inspiration you are!
  • I worked through it. Once you get warmed up, your muscles will feel better. By day four everything felt ok!
  • 30 Day Shred. If you want a video to kind of guide you, this one is great. It will get your heart pumping and it will get your strength training in too. Otherwise, check out fitness magazines (or their websites).
  • I have a three year old, I work full time, and I am going to school one night a week. It is hard, but you have to make yourself a priority. Your kids need you to be the example. I am currently going to a gym that offers childcare for 2.50 per hour. I don't feel guilty dropping him off there - he gets to play and I get to…
  • Thanks everyone! I got a Mio for Christmas last year and I have been pretty unhappy with it. I liked it becasue it didn't have the chest strap, but it is VERY inaccurate. I think I will be investing in a Polar - the price is right and it seems to be the popular choice.
  • skinnytaste.com and cookinglight.com are my favorites.
  • I am going to run/walk a 5K that morning so that I bank away some extra calories and try to make it to the gym every other day that week. My mom cooks Thanksgiving dinner, so I will bring some healthy vegetable sides to go with the usual goodies. My goal is not to overeat to the point at which I am hurting like I usually…
  • Welcome! MFP is great and you will get TONS of support! Glad to see you have the right attitude about making it a lifestyle too - that's such a big thing. Good luck!
  • I tried a low fat chocolate chip oatmeal cookie recipe as well as a low fat pumpkin spice cupcake recipe. (We had a potuck at church and I had to bring desserts.) Both were courtesy of Skinnytaste and both were delicious! Tomorrow I will be making Chicken Pot Pie courtesy of my Weight Watchers days...YUM!
  • Did a quick workout Saturday morning before going to our church's Fall Festival. I was very well behaved given the HUGE potluck dinner that was provided. I ate in moderation and limited myself to only one cookie for dessert. Sunday was pretty sedentary - football and napping! No Trick or Treating for me tonight due to my…
  • I decided to start wearing my pedometer yesterday so that when Monday rolls around I will already be in the habit of grabbing it in the morning. I'm here to tell you that a one hour Zumba class adds some serious steps to your day! I ended up yesterday with 11,358! Bring on Monday! I am ready to tackle the challenge!
  • I'm going to start small and go 7,000 to start with. I think I can nail this goal early, but Mondays are a challenge, along with the weekend. Having a desk job really challenges me to find other ways of getting my steps in, so I think cutting lunch short to walk will be a start. My ultimate goal is to catch that 15,000…
  • Well, I'm not surprised to see the stress of this past week take it's toll on the scale. That along with TOM a gain was inevitable. But my paper has been written and sent, my good friend drug me back to the gym over the weekend to get me back on track, and I am grocery shopping tonight so that there will be NO eating out…
  • Between the wind and rain here it may be Saturday before I can get out and "enjoy" the weather. But with winter coming on, I think I will make sure to get out there any chance I get!
  • I have been wearing mine all day, including my workouts. I think the idea is to log as many miles as you can, regardless of how you get there. Your holiday party sound exciting! What a great target too - wearing a designer dress. Good luck getting to your goal!
  • Sunday: 2.4 miles Monday: 2.5 miles Tuesday - 7.2 Total: 12.1 To go: 2.9 I kind of fell off the radar this week, but I did get my miles in. I added another 4.5 to Wednesday before I quit tracking so I know I hit 15. I'm back in it tomorrow though!
  • Got a ton of miles in in Tuesday, and after a sneak peak at the scale this morning I am totally motivated. My husband just offered me a HUGE caramel apple covered in nuts and I ran for the other room to jump on MFP! I'm still not ruling out a quick trip to the gym either! So glad to be a part of this challenge - especially…
  • I feel the same way! I have beeen halfheartedly working at it, but just like you I've been battling the same 3 pounds up and down the scale. I think seeing the number I am shooting for will help me. It's not a huge amount to lose, but 8% will make a HUGE difference! Good luck!
  • Sunday: 2.4 miles Monday: 2.5 miles Tuesday - 7.2 Total: 12.1 To go: 2.9
  • Sunday: 2.4 miles Monday: 2.5 miles Total: 4.9 To go: 10.1
  • Ok, I posted my weight into the spreadsheet and I am ready to go! Bring on a new me!
