I've dried apples, pineapples, peaches, pears, bananas, raspberries, cherries and apricots. I use canned fruit for all of them, except the apples and bananas. The apple I core, peel and slice and dip in fruit fresh. My family always likes when I dry fruit, but it never lasts long in my house. I have also made fruit…

If I were that close to my goal I would switch your goal to losing 1/2 pound per week. I don't know what rate you have been losing at now, but I lost a good amount in 2011 and increasing my calories actually kick started the weight loss when I was stuck in a plateau

I've been doing Leslie Sanson "walk away the pounds" videos on YouTube, and wii fit. As I got bored of the treadmill, and haven't gone back to my gym yet. 30 day shred is another DVD you could do at home, and I think it's also available on YouTube

2/1 182.6 2/8 181.2 (Yay, down 1.4 today!) 2/15 2/22 3/1 I will be happy if I can lose anything over 5 pounds this month. Good start toward my February goal!

I gave up Mountain Dew cold turkey on January 1. My husband bought a 12 pack of it on NewYear's Eve. I told him to take it to the basement because I didn't want to see it. The first week was rough. I drank a lot of hot tea with honey instead. Also started drinking water when I wanted a Dew. You have to have the right…

SW: 193 (On 1/1) 1/30 183.2 (2 loss) 2/6 183 (.2) Stubborn scale. Being down 10 pounds since 1/1 is great. I keep picking up a 10 bag of potatoes to remember what I've already lost. Hopefully next week the scale will start moving again- I know these weeks are to be expected, but frustrating all the same.

As a Boy Scout leader who has sold popcorn with my son many times, we hear that a lot. Doesn't take long for the Scout to figure out it's a lie, especially when it is the first day they are allowed to sell...

Personally I would go with what Endomondo read since it can also track the speed you are going. If you are walking faster you would be burning more than if you are walking slower.

Still going strong. I focused mostly on getting the calories where I want them in January since I just returned from a long hiatus. This month I'm trying to work on getting more cardio exercise in almost everyday. In March I will probably get back to strength training and increasing the length of my daily workouts. Feeling…

Some health insurance policies will cover a portion of a gym membership. Check with your employer or health insurance.

I don't see any water in your diary. Also measuring and logging everything you eat is helpful. Have you taken measurements also? Those are helpful when the scale doesn't move.
-
Yep. Just keep moving in the right direction and eventually you will get there. And for the times the scale gets stubborn - time to check the measurements....

Didn't quite reach it, but I'm satisfied with my progress anyway. I'll just have to work harder next month to make up the difference. (since this was my…

You have to find the number that works for you, where you aren't hungry all the time, but still losing consistently. Mine is about 1500. Sometimes when the scale isn't moving the measurements are dropping. Very important to watch those numbers too. If you haven't started watching and tracking measurements I highly…

In college the summer between my Junior and Senior year I lost about 25 lbs (140 to 115). I also decided to get my long hair cut short. Upon returning to school the following fall I happened to walk past a former boyfriend. When I called him by name, he replied "Do I know you?" Umm, yeah.....

I've been on everyday since the 1st of the year. I have no intention of leaving now. Feel free to add me.

I came back to MFP on the 1st of the year. I started at 1200 again and am slowly inching my calories up until I find a level I like where I'm still losing. Curious as to the OP opinion on doing it that way. edited to add: Mountain Dew addiction and portion control are the reasons I gained in the first place. I won't allow…

Nuts and Fish are both high allergen foods. They can both also become life threatening in a very short amount of time. Most schools are now peanut free or at least have peanut free areas. Fish can be just as deadly. There is no shot a person can take to desensitize to these allergies. So if your child were highly allergic…

As someone very allergic to fish and shellfish, just smelling the fish smell could make me extremely ill. (My throat will start to swell shut just from breathing it in.) Leave it at home. I also don't like burnt popcorn smell, but that is just an annoyance, not a life-threatening odor.

When I am nearing my goal I plan to…

If your plateau's normally last about a month, have you tried taking measurements? For me when the scale isn't moving, the inches are normally coming off. I'd much rather see less inches, and not worry about what the scale tells me.
