Very true. While you do get water form other sources, clear natural water is always the most healthy and beneficial. :)

I think they may have been referring to the part where you stated juice and coffee do not count as water. They do. There is water in most drinks and most foods. This is a highly discussed topic by professionals who claim you don't even need to "drink" your eight glasses because we derive a lot of water from our fruits and…

I believe society has made women desire the Kate Moss look, thinking that that is what beauty is and that that is what men want. In all actuality though I believe men want the hourglass.

BMR is not maintenance. It is the cals you need to survive if you laid in bed all day and did not move. You are supposed to eat at your BMR + daily activity cals (TDEE) in order to maintain. You will lose eating at your BMR. All that being said, MFP basis all of this on "typical" numbers. Everyone is different and their…

They do ask about exercise when setting your profile up. But it is not taken into account when seting your calorie goal. Your activity level is not based on exercise. So set the activity level based on how active he is and then also log exercise separately. Desk job=sedentary or lightly active. Warehouse worker=active.

Yep. I was a week late my first month. And I was on the pill for 15 years with cycles like clockwork.

Your diary isn't public so I am not sure what you are actually eating. I f you are eating diet food (egg whites only, fat free milk, etc) try eating the whole egg and drinking 2%. If you are unable to get your cals in then there is no need to eat the extremely low cal diet foods.
-
I only looked at your diary for the last week or so but it looks like you only allot yourself around 1000 NET cals per day. That is way too little. You need to eat more to kick your metabolism into gear.

I have a mom that took a while to grow up too. I have given her money several times. In the beginning she would always say she would pay it back but then some other financial downfall would occur and I would eventually just say don't worry about it. So whenever she was in trouble and needed money later in life I never…

BMI of 8???? Really?
-
Joking aside- is it the right side you can count them on? If you're tummy has anything in it it can protude, causing less rib visibility on the left.

I had flutters at 6 weeks....

Ummm...are you pregnant???

If I go over one day I stay a little under the next. It's called zig zagging your calories. Keeps the metabolism guessing and up to par. :)

Will power. Pass on the pizza and eat what you were planning on eating before they showed up with the crap.

The target weight range for 5"7" is 118-160. I am 134 currently and 5'7". My profile pic is me at 130 (pregnant now so my weight will be going up, not down). At 10% body fat a lot of your weight is muscle. Women naturally have a higher body fat content.

I eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full. As long as I stay within goal I am good to go. If that means I eat a big lunch well then so be it. If it means a big dinner well then so be that too.

Maybe they were attempting a metaphor? Cheese- as in cottage cheese thighs? :ohwell:

Are you really only attempting to lose 3.5 lbs (per your ticker)? I lose that in water weight monthly (girl time). Lol! If so, a 1200 cal/day allotment may be too low. Do you have your goals set to lose 2 lbs per week?
-
I think she meant she WAS under eating and is now attempting to hit 1200-1600 cals.
-
Although I was not pregnant the first place I noticed weight loss when I started MFP was in my fingers. Afetr about 10 lbs my rings slid right off without assistance and I had to get them all resized smaller. So yes, your fingers will shrink when you lose the weight.

Have you ever waited too long to eat and then your stomach starts to hurt? If I skip a meal due to being too busy I find that my stomach tightens up and I am less hungry when the next meal time rolls around. Maybe that is what happens when you go to bed without eating?

A 1000 cal per day deficit IS how he would lose 2 lbs per week. He has a higher daily need so it is reasonable to have that large of a deficit.
-
Your deficit is not subtracted from you BMR. It is figured by subtracting your 1000 cals (2 lb/wk loss) from your BMR+daily activity burn. A typical daily activity burn (making dinner, going to the restroom, walking to the mailbox, etc) is 500 cals. So take your BMR and add about 500 cals. THEN subtract your 1000 cals.…
