  • Joseph's flax pita bread- 60 calories and 4 net carbs, makes a great little pizza Turkey pepperoni- for the pizza above Muscle Milk light- I blend it up with water a bit of ice and handfuls of spinach, like a healthy milkshake Eggs- good for you, filling and versatile Almond meal and ground flax- to use for baking instead…
  • I eat low carb- you can check out my diary if you'd like. It's amazing how many carbs are in the standard American diet when you start paying attention to it.
  • Blueberries and cantaloupe- both delicious and low in sugar!
  • Some places will wrap your sushi in cucumber instead of rice if you ask them. It's awesome!
  • Better to go over on fats I'd think, more satiating than carbs. Then you won't go over on calories too, if you eat to many carbs it might make you hungrier after the sugar crash.
  • I think eating once a day isn't so awful if that's the only way you feel in control. Look up intermittent fasting. Lots of research say it's a fine way to eat and you actually live longer eating like that. Good luck!
  • These are fantastic tips- most of them really resonate with me. The one about eating every 2-3 hours not so much, I think you should eat when you're hungry, but not yet ravenous, whenever that is. Eating most carbs from fruit and vegetables, eating protein with carbs, don't drink your calories... very smart, these truths…
  • I would really concentrate on your diet- eat paleo for a few weeks and see if that helps your abs pop out more. Veg, meat, a little fruit, nuts. Low carb, no sugar, low sodium- I bet that would do it. Good luck- I think your abs are great now, but I also see the appeal of super-ripped girl's. Edited for punctuation.
  • Congratulations, I'm glad to hear low carb is working for you! After doing some research I started eating low carb myself, it's only been a week now but I really like it. It's my own plan, I was scared of just eating a ton of fatty cheese and meat to lose weight (it's so ingrained that eating fat makes you fat- even though…
  • Sure, it's open- check it out if you'd like.
  • Coconut oil is also supposed to really help with belly fat.
  • I was thinking the same thing, reading over everyone's responses. Sugar and carbs, sugar and carbs- I don't know if I'm being hyperaware because I'm eating low carb/sugar now or if they really are the main reason people gain so much weight. Interesting!
  • I second "eat more fats"- I changed around my percentages and have been feeling more satisfied and eating less calories now that my fats are higher. Give it a shot!

  • I haven't eaten this in forever but I used to love butter and crappy (skippy/jif) peanut butter sandwiched in between saltine crackers- could eat a whole sleeve of 'em like that in one sitting.
  • 1. How much did you lose? 1 lb 2. Where you under your net WEEKLY calorie allowance? Yes 3. Did you exercise? 1 hour a day, 6 days a week 4. Did you eat your exercise calories? Yes, it's one of my incentives to exercise!
  • How about chicken kebabs? You can alternate zucchini, onion chunks and mushrooms with the chicken to give yourself some more veggies.
  • What she said.
  • So true- knowledge is power!
  • Wow- what a fantastic story! Very inspiring, thank you.
  • Sure, but I just don't really drink at all. I used to love going out drinking in my twenties. Now that I'm mid thirties it really doesn't appeal anymore. Why drink all those extra calories, then feel hungover and dehydrated the next day and want to eat a bunch of unhealthy food? I hope that might motivate a bit.
  • Sure! 4 cups dry oats 1 cup unsweetened flaked coconut 8 scoops muscle milk light vanilla (I think a scoop is 1/4 cups) 1/2 jar of PB2 4 Tablespoons coconut oil water mix all dry ingredients, then pour in the coconut oil, mix again , then add water 'till you get the consistency you want, just wet enough to hold together…
  • I almost always make my protein powder shakes (muscle milk light) with water and about 3 cups of spinach blended up, sometimes some fresh fruit added too. I have put a little as flavoring in homemade pancake mix, oatmeal, and made protein bars out of them as well.
  • I don't track sodium, but I do sugar- most days I'm under so feel free to check it out. It's hard limiting fruits, I usually only eat one or two servings a day, although I'd like more!
  • Love green smoothies! An apple is always a good addition, lots of fiber to fill you up. I usually use coconut water for the liquid, potassium and a hint of sweetness, two big handfuls of baby spinach and a cup of frozen mixed berries= smoothie perfection. Also a smoothie of watermelon chunks, a squeeze of fresh lime juice,…
  • I changed up my macros on Sunday- now only eating 20% carbs, look at my diary if you'd like (I'm still feeling my way around low carb).
  • Deli meat wrapped around a pickle spear and a smear of laughing cow cheese.
  • I like to make it with a combo of mayo/greek yogurt, curry spice, salt, peppper, celery, dried cranberries and chopped up pecans.
  • Oh, and for the butter question- have you tried zested orange peel and a squeeze of fresh orange juice on sweet potatoes? It's really delicious.

  • I thought I was the only one who could barely take coconut oil! I wonder why we have that reaction?

  • Healthy to me is fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, whole grains- if it comes in a box with a million ingredients it's not healthy.
