  • Another child-free one here! I'm 37 and have been with my man 10 years, we're not married and are not going to have kids. We own a restaurant and a dog and cat together, I feel like some people don't take our relationship seriously because we decided not to marry and have kids. I've got plenty of stuff going on in my life…
  • I'm low carb-ing too. You can check out my diary for ideas if you like. My breakfast is usually a microwave muffin- http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/258089-low-carb-microwave-muffin?hl=microwave+muffin#posts-3409021 Breakfast does seem hard, I prefer a sweet breakfast to a savory one as well.
  • For breakfast this is what I make- it's really fast, low carb and filling- http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/258089-low-carb-microwave-muffin
  • How about making yourself crackers with grated parmesan cheese, flax meal, egg white and spices- flatten it out and bake in the oven. Helps carb cravings without carbs. Or this microwave muffin- http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/258089-low-carb-microwave-muffin Saves my mornings most days. Good luck!
  • I'm working on my last 4, I'm 129 and have been 130-128 for the past month. It's HARD. I also find motivation to be an issue at the moment. Good luck to us all!

  • I'm eating low carb and my fat is set at 65%, fat is very caloric so my ideas are- Chicken liver pate Alfredo sauce on pasta or veggies and meat Cheese ball with crackers and veggies make instant pudding in the blender with heavy whipping cream, it's like mousse! use heavy cream in tea/coffee Buffalo chicken wings Lemon…
  • I'm eating low carb so my lunches reflect that- 1) Tuna Salad hickory smoked tuna pouch with mayo, dijon, chopped up dill pickle, diced half granny smith apple and a stalk of diced celery with 2 akmak crackers crumbled and sprinkled on top. 2) Pizza Joseph's flax pita with 2 tablespoons spaghetti sauce, turkey pepperoni,…
  • I'd love to see some pics too- I'm 5'5'', started out 140, now 129, trying for 125 but I've been stalling out for a few months now- those last few are a b!tch. I don't think my body wants to do it, I'm fairly large boned, 34dd... Still working on it though.
  • Low carb-er here, check out my diary if you'd like!
  • OK non fruit and veggies I eat everyday... almonds- as nuts, for a snack and also almond meal, in recipes eggs- hard boiled, in recipes, scrambled... chicken breasts butter/mayo- have to put 'em together, I use either one in most of my meals cheese- cream cheese, cheddar, string, parmesan, blue... It's hard not naming…
  • It's not a crazy fad diet. I am a 5'5'' woman, I've never weighed over 140 pounds, I exercise 3-6 days a week, I've never eaten red meat (parents were veggies, and when I could make my own choice I thought pork/beef was unhealthy), I rarely (4 times a year?) eat fast food. I always try to find ways to become healthier…

  • I really enjoy it- great cardio, you'll get sweaty. I take 4 classes a week but they break up spin with other stuff (spin/yoga, spin/trx, spin/boxing) so you're only on the bike for 25 minutes. But those 25 are full on, I can't imagine going that pace for a full hour. I've only been taking these classes for a moth and…
  • I make sure to bring in plenty of healthy food I enjoy eating and logging it into my food diary beforehand. Then I just tell myself "I brought the food in, it's logged, that's all I can eat".
  • I appreciate the info Zeromile, thanks!
  • I thought the guy was a d@uche, and was irritated in the beginning- but halfway though, when the science of it is talked about I really enjoyed. Fascinating stuff. Some other good info if you're interested- http://www.youtube.com/user/StanfordUniversity#p/search/4/eREuZEdMAVo…
  • I have watched "Fathead" and read quite a few studies about low carb/high fat diets, so I feel pretty informed. I know I'll get lots of "this is wrong- eat a bunch of whole grains, it's good for you!" people who are just parroting what the SAD (food pyramid) diet promotes. I used to think the same way 'til I looked into it…
  • Yeah- I thought it was funny he and his family are vegetarians. He sort of acknowledged that eating that way wasn't as healthy as he was hoping.

  • I can't imagine how gross that would be. I've tried coconut oil, because of hearing how great it is for you. Even mixed with something it triggers my gag reflex. Ew ew ew. if you can do it you have a stomach of steel!
  • What about using a carton of pasteurized egg whites as an add in in smoothies? That'd turn it into a protein shake. Edited- maybe not a whole carton, just a few eggs worth- is what I meant.
  • I'm low carbing too- it gets easier! This muffin has really helped out my bready cravings- http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/258089-low-carb-microwave-muffin Also I just found out (through a low carb forum) that boiled diced celery is a good pasta substitute, I had some with alfredo sauce the other day- loved it! I'm…
  • The yolks are the best part! Fat isn't bad for you, it's actually GOOD for you- yay! Give me your yolks, I'll eat 'em. http://www.scientificamerican.com/blog/post.cfm?id=mummy-says-john-horgan-is-wrong-abo-2011-05-19
  • Wow! Thanks so much for this- it's amazing that people think low carb/high fat is so awful when in reality it's the best way to eat for health and weight loss.

  • Motivation for both exercise and eating right A plan for my next meal or snack
  • Yep- protein and fat are satiating, carbs raises your blood sugar and then drops it right down.
  • This is my favorite tea too! It's great iced as well.
  • OK Jillian- I'll give it a go. Working on my last 5 vanity pounds, and it is rough. Already don't drink, so there's the easy one.
