  • Cottage cheese is great on a salad instead of a dressing, on a baked potato with salsa, or on a pancake with a little jam. It is my go-to condiment at times. I understand the hate, though....
  • for me the healthier muffin is the one that I don't feel inclined to eat the whole batch in one sitting...
  • I ditto all the roasted suggestions....it mellows the flavour a lot !

  • babe in my pants groundhog day in my pants .....and for those who need to do laundry stripes in my pants (aka the green mile in my pants, perhaps?)
  • Another good physio exercise to help with 'broken foot syndrome' (that's what we call it in my family cuz it feels like your foot is busted up) is to put a hand towel on the floor (laid out flat) and while sitting in a chair use your bare feet to scrunch up the towel with your toes and then smoothing it out again. While…
  • congrats on 5 months of sobriety....I would go buy some of the lower calorie, fancy drinks (fizzy waters with fun flavours) that you wouldn't normally buy because they are more money than plain water. That way you feel like you have something special but can stay true to being sober (alcohol free is the way to be!!…
  • pizza can be any meal in my book....it is my perfect food:devil:
  • Everyone has overeating moments...but why start over again tomorrow? Why not start at the next snack or meal? Starting over the next day for me gives me a whole lotta hours to do damage in!:drinker: Hugs Beth
  • I went on a 4 month cruise last year and lost 30 pounds....you just have to have a plan. For me, I ate the same breakfast and lunch as I would at home....fruit and yogurt...and a salad with protein. Then at supper I would eat what I wanted (within reason) and stay away from the bread basket. I would order carefully in that…
  • I use my home scale...and periodically throw a 5 pound bag of sugar on it.....it is always 5 pounds, therefore my scale is accurate...my doctors scale weigh 15 pounds light...
  • I love doing laundry and changing / making our bed....I don't mind dishes...I hate dusting
  • WTG Jeremy!!! You are rockin' your new shirt!!! (how are the babies...getting sleep yet?) Beth
  • You are banned for having no beer at home...the shame!
  • Absolutely. And I eat the whole one, which is why I pick them small, even if they are sold as a unit price. Unless I am sharing with hubby, then I get a bigger one. I have yet to find a fool-proof way of saving part of an avocado
  • For me, I always have 200-300 calories left for the evening (about 15% of my daily calorie allotment). I know I will want a nighttime snack so I plan for it. If I don't, I end up overeating. Good luck with this! Everyone has good ideas! Hugs Beth
  • Before loading your plate, I would walk around it and see what they have (from beginning to dessert) so you can get an idea of what you would like to eat, rather than piling your plate sky high. Also, if they have two sizes of plate, grab a smaller one, especially for the higher calorie stuff
  • Hey there! Congrats on making changes in your life! Here are a few quick thoughts If you aren't into cooking much, you could buy a rotisserie chicken (the precooked ones in the grocery store) and eat it with some pre-made salad greens or carrots and dip (or peppers etc.) and whole grain bread. Then you could take leftovers…
  • I took a peek at your diary....are you tracking your sodium somewhere else? You may be over and retaining a lot of fluid that way. Also, for ME, I eat way more veggies with meals which is good at filling me up when I am feeling extra munchie. I also like eating the same breakfast...makes me want to binge less!! good luck…
  • I quit 2 years ago after a long history of smoking (15 ish years)...I hadn't had a smoke for a few days and hubbys brother came over and was being an absolute *kitten*. I wanted a smoke REALLLY badly...I told myself that even if I had a smoke, the brother would still be an *kitten* and I would be back smoking. So I…
  • Ed, I don't know you at all, but I must say you are truly a knight for all the kind words and encouragement you bestow on us. Thank-you and it is much appreciated! Wishing you all the best and hope you are having a great day!!!! Hugs Beth:smile:
  • I like melba rounds( llike melba toast but circular)...7 crackers, 70 calories...lots of crunch and you can top them or dip them....
  • I like 1 tbsp light cream cheese and 1 tbsp jam spread on melba toast....4 of the long toast done this way are about 120 calories. I like the crunch of melba toast and they aren't salty.
  • Actually, my dogs are 11 and 12 and in perfect health. They eat balanced meals. I agree that table scraps and such are not good for dogs. The majority of pet foods is full of crap and chemicals.
  • darn...wish I could edit the last post....I meant, it's hard to SAY.... Are you taking a multivitamin supplement with iron? Often iron supplements can bung you up.....
  • Hard to day, although even if you are eating small amounts of food (with enough fiber to add the bulk to the poop) it should pass easily and not be pellet-like....
  • If you are meaning that you are pooping pellets, you are constipated....I would suggest increasing your fluid intake...are you eating enough fiber? I would recommend prune juice/prunes rather than using over-the-counter laxatives (that habit can cause long term problems) and most stool softeners are just 'expensive water'…
  • As long as you can poop, you are ok.... :smokin: Beth
