im 5'10 and 200 lbs. At my weight, I eat 2100 cals a day and lose about 1.5 lbs a week. I would highly recommend uping your cals to around 2k. With your weight, your body will naturally burn a bit more as moving in general is somewhat of a workout on your body. Definitely would not go below 1500 though or you will be…

Shoes completely depend on the person. Everyone has a different shoe that works best for them. Personally I like the nike free 5.0s, but those run about $75. I would recommend going to a running shop and using the foot analysis machine to find a decent pair that fits your foot right. If you don't mind spending more, I use…

I would put some weights on it if I were you. I have yet to meet someone who couldnt deadlift 80-100 lbs. Weights will automatically set a decent height for you as well. Whats more of a concern is grip and technique. Grip is all about whats comfortable for you. I personally do a dual grip with one hand facing out and one…

Your body may already be in starvation mode which is why youre not losing weight. When its in starvation mode, any food you eat gets converted into fats and thrown into your body. I would suggest increasing it by at least 300 calories to get up to 1500. If you burn 8-900 at work you literally have no energy for your body…

2 issues i see with this. 1 is you are actually starving yourself in my opinion. the 12-1500 is what you need to maintain... when working out, its recommended that you eat back at least half the calories burned. The reason you are putting on weight is your body is in survival mode. You are constantly starving it so its…

Thanks for the comments all. Ill give the websites a look and get going. Ive also checked with base resources, but find that you get better advice from people who have been through it personally. Also, the peanut butter sandwich is doubled to equal the right amount. That was someone elses sandwich and i already knew it was…

Its ok to sway, but just dont let anything make you give up. Ill send ya an invite as well. I started 6 weeks ago and am currently down 12 lbs with 30 or so to go. Keep it up.

In regards to soda, it has so much sugar it might as well have calories. Your body turns excess sugar from things like soda and lemonade into fat... I suggest cutting that out all together.

Goal is definitely to maintain muscle and burn fat. I still need to lose another 30 or so lbs to drop the gut. After that Ill get into bulking, but for now im going to use this for good weight loss while keeping in shape for PT test.

Im fairly weak in most the exercises. My deadlift is the only thing thats solid(max is 385 1 rep). Everything else is fairly weak... Bench is probably the worst at a 1 rep max of 145... even though a pushup is 155 lbs at my weight(I do 50 or so for a PT test), it doesnt make sense to me. So I think im gonna be all over the…

I was just more curious if i started heavy lifting, could I eat 2500 or so calories and still lose the same amount of weight I am now?

For the deficit I have been having the pass few days, its to make up for the days I didnt log(had probably 3k cals these days). Even eating 1700 im not always satisfied, but I am liking the progress I have seen so far. Im still trying to figure out the right combo for eating and losing. As I said though, Im happy with the…

PT test coming up in 2 more months. Trying to get down to a decent weight/waist. Makes it much easier to pass. But as i said, i am really just looking to be able to eat more. Im not necessarily hungry, but am tired of not feeling satisfied after eating. I dont feel full, I just feel not hungry for a few hours.

Unfortunately my base does not have personal trainers that are free and the military pays to little for me to pay for one. A coworker is about to give me his workout items as he is moving and the weights put him over his alloted limit. So I was going to lift in my garage.

Also, I just technically got out of the obese category. My BMI is 29 according to the BMI charts.

Got any lifting routines I should follow? I am currently eating 1700 calories a day and have lost 12 lbs in about 6 weeks. I would love to lose more quicker, but know that can be unhealthy. I am more interested really in eating more and losing just as fast, if not faster. Let me know what you think on this.

@ MMAguy, probably ;) o.O

Im an excellent chef of Bertolli foods! only 370 calories per meal too!

Depends on a lot of factors. im 5'10, male, 215lbs and i currently eat 1700 cals a day and up to 1900 when i exercise. Ive lost 4 lbs this week alone. I am for 1.5-2 lbs a week though.

Ill pass that last one onto my wife Toad, shell thank you ;)

Alright, so add protein, maybe 300 cals a day and ill be good? I am also thinking of starting T25 to go with it all. I have heard from quite a few buds that T25 keeps them more than in shape for PT test(I hate working out if yall havent guessed lol).

BTW my food diary wasnt complete for yesterday. Since Im working night, I start breakfast at 8 PM and its currently 530 am which is almost dinner time. i added my last meal though.
-
So everyone is saying I shouldnt stick around 1700? Last year I tried a 1200 cal diet for a few weeks... I figured 1700 was more than acceptable. I will be incorporating more workouts in, I have just been working Midshifts this week, but being military we have to workout. Would it be ok(health wise) if i kept at the 1700…

Its definitly food in general. Every now and then it will be something specific, but typically its just hunger pains. I am trying to cut weight in general due to me being in the Air Force. I have slowly put on about 40 lbs since joining 5 years ago and its just time to drop it. I can maintain eating just about anything,…

MFP says 84, but I am pretty far under that for the most part. My Diary is wide open for yall. I dont really concentrate on the other items, just the calories. I have plenty of muscle under the fat, so i figured for the first bit i could lose a little bit of both and be alright. And thanks for your bottom comment :).

I exercise a bit, but the 1700 is the total caloretic intake per day im supposed to do if not exercising. Even on days I am exercising id like to stick to this. I have been eating roughly 2700 calories a day for the last couple years and want to start losing 2 lbs a week, which is why im trying to stick to 1700.
