  • I'm 5'8 and now at 128 lbs, which is not very low. My period got irregular at 141 lbs, and stopped completely at 134 lbs. I've never had any crazy deficits and haven't overexercised, so I don't know, maybe my body doesn't want to be at a weight this low. Oh, and my sex drive is non-existent, but it wasn't very strong…
  • Of course you are. :) I am (or would be) the worst apple-shaped female, but by being at a lower end bmi and incorporating lots of exercise to tighten the abdomen area, a flat belly is no problem at all. I don't believe there are many people who are unable to achieve a flat mid-section.
  • I have a very similar problem. I now have a lot of free time and love to go on 4+ hours hikes, burning 1000 kcal and more. The problem is two fold as I am 1. not able to eat so many calories 2. especially because hiking shrinks my appetite. I don't really know what to do, I want this weight loss to be sustainable, but I…
  • The day before yesterday I went on a hike. Started at 7 o'clock in the morning and returned to the car at 8 o'clock in the evening, which means 13 hours of hiking, minus 2.5 hours of breaks. I only logged 500 minutes of hiking as I know mfp tends to overestimate and that made around 3,500 kcal.
  • I have been a vegan for 1 year, feel free to add me. :)
  • wood and elderflowers in blossom
  • I'm vegan too and I also struggled with protein at first especially when cutting calories, but I use vegan protein powder now and then and everything works out fine. :) Feel free to add me!
  • Hey :) I know how you feel and my story is almost exactly the same. Same numbers, almost same height (if you are still 173 cm?). I'm 172 cm and the fattest I have been were 70 kg (really low point) but now I've managed to go down to 59 kg. I still have 2, 3 kilos to lose but I would be glad to support you during your…
  • If your only motivation is health, than veganism might not be the right thing for you as it's not so easy to balance macronutrients on a vegan diet. And yes, you will have to take B12 supplements. Is there a reason why they make you sick?
  • I also think it's not really worth its calories, but I try to reach my goal anyway. I have hormonal issues and I know it could be due to too little fat over a long time. Fat really is gross to me and I often feel sick after eating something high in fat, but it's probably because my body is not used to it. However, 40 - 50…
  • I am also vegan and I am glad that it works out for you, but keep in mind that 900 kcal net is NOT healthy and sustainable especially for a man. It's great that you lost the weight, but maybe you want to proceed in a healthier manner. Do you take supplements? Do you hit your macros? Edit: Also, please keep in mind that…
  • I had my last "real" period in January I guess, some spotting afterwards, and now for 2 months nothing. I know this is not good at all and I have seen 2 doctors about it, nobody could truly explain it. They thought I had PCOS but my hormones proved normal, although male hormones were a bit high, but still in the normal…
  • This is very interesting, thank you. I do intermittent fasting, with 18-19 hours fasts and 5-6 of eating. I feel very, very good following this pattern, have lots of energy, increased mental capacity and I'm never "hangry" at all. HOWEVER, I don't get my period anymore. My gynecologist had no idea why, because at a 1500…
  • When I first started, I also thought weighing food was unnecessary and obsessive and I thought I ate very reasonably. Did I lose? No. Then I gave it a try and it's actually HEAVEN, for me at least. To know how much I consume, to know I am (most) definitely in a caloric deficit, to know I hit my macros. It feels so good and…
  • Daily, and I don't think there's anything wrong with it. As long as you personally don't feel like you are obsessing over it and are aware that there will be fluctuations you can't always explain, weigh yourself as often as you want.
  • I don't think it makes a lot of difference on which meal of the day you cut back, at least not in weight loss (how you personally feel is another story). The only thing that matters is a caloric deficit.
  • Hello, I sent you a friend request :) I have been vegan for almost a year now and would like to support you during your weightloss. My diary is open but a great part of it is German unfortunately.
  • Ok, thanks for your input. I suspected fat is very important, that's why I asked. I know all the foods that contain high-quality fat, but I'm not too fond of most of them so I usually have something else I enjoy more. It's just too tempting to have a lot of fruits instead of a tiny amount of something high in fat if my…
  • I'm a vegan too and would like to make some vegan friends on here. :) I log daily but my diary is mostly in German, anyway I would love to exchange with fellow veggies. Feel free to add me. :)
  • My hair is almost to my tailbone too, and I always wear a normal braid without making a ponytail first. Everything else annoys the *kitten* out of me. If I wear a high ponytail braided or not, my scalp hurts like crazy and my hair is extremely tangled post-workout. And a bun never holds in place, no matter what I do. I…
  • You wouldn't want to hear the same joke over and over again, would you? So if vegans/vegetarians react a bit annoyed at "jokes" like this, it's not because they have no sense of humor. It's just that they heard the same joke a 100 times before.
  • I'm perfectly happy with my lifestyle choices, thanks. I will not deny that my post was probably equally unnecessary, but sometimes I really ask myself what's the motivation behind comments like the one you posted. Anyway, enjoy your day.
  • I've been a vegetarian since my childhood and I can't even count how often I've heard something similar. It just annoys me when people feel the need to tell how happy they are to consume animal products. It's perfectly fine if you like your burger/bacon/whatever, but why post it in a thread about veganism? There is just no…
  • i love how stupid this remark sounds
  • I've been there too and it is definitely possible to stop craving and binging on unhealthy things. It has been a long process for me but now I'm able to say no to pretty much everything, and most importantly, without any regret. If it's possible for me, than it is possible for everybody including you. :)
  • Of course it's worth it. Food is just food is just food. I seriously wonder why I would deny myself the experience of being healthy, happy and sociable and instead stuff my face with huge amounts of low-quality foods and feeling guilty and gross afterwards.
  • (very) long hair + beard (only if groomed). sad thing almost nobody has that these days, especially not my generation.
  • Only judging from my experience, 6 - 8 lbs can easily be water weight, and I think it could be even more if you are a bit heavier (I'm ~138 lbs). Every body is different though, I tend to store a lot of water (especially pre-menstruation) but this could be different for you. Anyway, great job losing all that weight. :)
  • I am 5'8'' and now at roughly 138 lbs (62,5 kg). I'd love to go down to 125 lbs but I'm not sure if this is maintainable for me. Even at my current weight people I talk to doubt that I'm above 130, I've got quite a thigh gap and my ribs and hip bones are sticking out. It all comes down to frame size in my opinion. I am…
  • It depends. Sometimes I really like putting on some make-up, but usually I don't wear any since I don't want to get up earlier in the morning to apply it. What I never wear is nail polish. I just hate everything about it (smell, look, application, removal) and it seems so unnecessary.
