I always go up about 3 or 4 lbs the week before and go back down shortly after it starts.

I put it under "aerobics-general". I have a HRM that I use so I put in what it tells me I burned, not what MFP shows.

Have you tried yoga or tai chi? My mom has bad arthritis in her knee and a bad back so high impact exercises are a big no for her. She found that yoga and tai chi are good for her. Hope it helps, sorry if it doesn't. Good Luck!

I notice it on my sides first and then my stomach. My arms are next and the last to see any improvement in my thighs and that's the area I want to notice it first in. :tongue:

I have the Polar FT7. I love it! I don't notice the chest strap at all when I'm wearing it.

I would either wear a long sleeve shirt or put the watch in my pocket as long as the HRM is one with a chest strap.

I just got the Polar FT7 as well. I had the same problem the second time I used it. I found out I wasn't wetting the sensors enough. If you're still having problems, there are places that sell electrode gel to help the connectivity.

Maybe invest in a HRM? That way no matter what your speed, you'll know for sure how many calories you burned. Good Luck!

Go straight to your dr or the ER. Do not pass go, do not get to exercise. I would be more worried about losing my toe and going septic than how many calories I can burn.

Klondike slim-a-bear no sugar added ice cream sandwiches. Only 100 calories each. I love them!

I always took the lower number. I have a HRM now so I use the number from that. I found that the HRM as higher than the gym, but lower than MFP. Hope this helps.

I read Atkins and didn't agree with the carb restrictions in the maintenance phase. I did the South Beach diet a couple times and each time I lost over 40 lbs in a very short amount of time. Then life happened and I gained it all back. This time, I'm counting calories and watching carbs (if it's white, don't bite!).

Open to friends only. I think it helps if others can give suggestions on my food that I may not have thought of before or remind me to eat more veggies.

Yes and she's my mom and I tell her to butt out. She may not like it, but she does.
