While I agree in general that a pill is no substitute for planning and making good choices, etc., I do occasional take a dexatrim if I know I'm going to be in a situation with a lot of temptation and yes, it helps me stay away from mindless snacking quite effectively. Try the MIO or other liquid flavor enhancer drops. They don't add calories and come in a bunch of flavors. There's even a good sweet tea flavor if you like that sort of thing.
