Well, to be clear, I am going on vacation next week and wearing a bathing suit. I was thinking that shedding some water weight would help.

If you have worked hard to build the muscle under neath then yes, abs are made in the kitchen. At least by eating right, you will reveal all of the hard work you have done.

Oh yay, good for you! I love workout clothes. You need to feel good at the gym.

I have used weights my whole life. My body weight goes up and down depending on my lifestyle. I decided to switch things up and do a kickboxing workout. It was great at first. You burn a ton of calories but, I was losing my muscle. I actually was not as happy with my body after a while. I am back to weights and am much…

All of the above is so true. Just eat good whole food. All those supplements are full of fillers and garbage and are not good for your body. Be healthy and safe. Don't fall for gimmicks because that is all they are.

I had knee surgery due to a skiing accident. My knee also locked up. Ride the exercise bike and the best thing for me has been walking on the treadmill. I walk at 3.4 mph for 30 minutes and it has helped a ton. Good luck.

Don't make your diet temporary. Make changes that will benefit you for the rest of your life. Also, weight loss is a slow process. I think we all think it's going to happen fast and when it doesn't, we get discouraged. Give it time.

I just got a Fitbit Alta and am happy with it. It does not have the Heart Rate as the Alta HR does but I did not need that feature.

Thank you. You are very nice.

You don't need to be snotty.

I am interested to see what the responses are too. This sounds like me. The only thing I know for me is that unless I really cut back on my food, I do not lose weight. I also do not eat back my exercise calories. If I do, I do not lose weight. I am 53 which could be part of my problem. I don't know.

Squats will help tighten the are which will give the appearance that you have lost. But you won't lose the fat. That comes from diet.
-
Both but make sure you do something that is sustainable for you. You need to count calories either way.
-
Thank you all. I will keep at it and not get discouraged.

I think it really comes down to how bad you want to be in shape and healthy. If it's really important to you, you will do it. I also think it helps to have a goal...plan a trip or something that you want to feel and look good for. Once you start feeling good and losing weight, you will want to keep it up. Good luck.

WW works for many people but with any diet, as soon as you stop, most people go back to regular eating. The best thing to do is educate yourself on the benefits of real food and portion size. Eat real food and stay within your calorie limit to lose weight. But, make it your life, not just a thing to lose a certain amount…

As long as you don't sweat. I have never worked out when I didn't sweat.

I am soooo with you you on this. I love good food but recipes have gotten so complicated. Real food on its own tastes really good, but people have to add so much stuff that the real food takes on different flavors. I like real food on its own, just a little salt and pepper now and then. None of these drippy cheeses,…

Yes, but I also believe in keeping things simple anyway. Too many ingredients or too complicated to make...forget it. I think keeping things simple is better for weight loss too.

I never eat cheat meals. I eat what I want but make sure I watch my total calorie intake for the day. I feel like just saying cheat meals and thinking about adding them is a recipe for failure.

Blew it over the weekend. Got together with friends and had a little too much. It's Monday. a clean slate to start all over. Lets see how good we can all be this week. Nothing til Friday!!!!

Burpees. Lots of Burpees.

Agree with above posters. You deserve to be there as much as he does. Just either ask to get the weights while he is sitting there or if you want to use the bench, ask to work in sets with him. thats a very normal thing at gyms. Don't be shy.

Bullet proof coffee is regular coffee with coconut oil and grass fed butter or ghee in it. The fats keep me full until lunch. You have it in place of your breakfast. I started a thread yesterday on it. Gotten lots of comments, good and bad.

It will be interesting to see how it affects our weight loss. Make sure you comment about how it's going here.

The BP coffee is in place of your breakfast, not in addition to. Yes, you would likely gain weight doing both.

I'm in. I enjoy my wine. Really need to cut back and save for weekends only. Good luck to all of us!

I am right with you. I am 53. Complicated by a ski accident last year and had to have knee surgery. I am just getting back to the gym. I am cutting my calories and trying to firm up. I have always been very active and athletic. I have not been active for almost a year. But, I am back at it and remembering how much I love…

Make sure you are incorporating healthy fats in your eating. So important for feeling satisfied and keeping your brain from getting foggy when you cut calories.

I strength train and then walk on treadmill for 30 minutes at varying speeds and inclines. So yes, do it. Another piece of advice my daughter just learned even though I told her but apparently she knew better and is now VERY sore...do not work the same muscles back to back. Make sure you have a break in between. Your…
