My wife says I am too good to be true. lol

I read on the internet that diet pepsi will cause body odor, gout, herpes, cooties, bad cell phone coverage, and cause your car battery to fail early. pretty sure its true since its on the internet.

you also might want to look into "female body breakthrough" by Rachel Cosgrove. her husband/business partner Alwyn is the co-author of NROLFW. i purchased it for my wife a year ago and she loves it.

depends on YOU.. I personally LOVE going to my gym, I cant easily match the setup at home easily and I also love working out with my group. my gym would be considered bare bones by most people in here, as its just free weights and olympic lifting pits, but that is what i enjoy. I have friends that hate going to the gym,…

so you are saying that its rude of me to throw cheese puffs at my wife when shes on the treadmill? Im just trying to get her attention, so she can make me a sandwich, otherwise i would have to miss part of the game or pause it (but as we all know that is bad luck and could cost my team the win). btw. it REALLY ticks me off…

agree with Jimmie.. be careful with the exercises if you have not been trained.. while they may appear pretty easy, olympic style lifting is actually quite technical and takes a good teacher to help you get the moves down. This is not a bash against crossfit!! While I do not do the crossfit WOD's, I was a member of a…

I have tried rago, but I prefer homemade spaghetti sauce. :)

I dont buy it.. Im disgusted when i hear people saying TV is fake. How dare you claim that the biggest loser is not 100% true, and honorable.. the next thing you will try to make me believe is that those guys from pawn stars are NOT experts in every object known to man, or that Barney is NOT a magical dinosaur that comes…

I usually get a piece of Sheetrock from home depot and use a cheese grater (or sandpaper) to shave off a bit for my coffee.. makes it look just like the powdered "creamer".. Sure it tastes like crap, and might be hazardous to my health, but its cheap and has ZERO calories. LOL

I absolutely LOVE when they come up and say something like "WOW. you look great, what have you been doing?".. my answer of course is to eat sensibly, real foods nothing processed, track what I eat, and to work out 5+ hours a week. the Hilarious part is how often they will process this information and then say "oh, what you…

Nike does have Oly shoes, and Adidias has been a big player in this space for a long time.. You will notice that the good shoes from either of these brands is about $200.. I personally use the Pendlay shoes. which you can pick up for just over $100. I am VERY happy with the shoes, it did take me a little getting used to…

I use a training shoe(low heel, as a high heel lift running shoe is BAD for fast direction changes) for my warm-up, agility work, and conditioning.. for lifting, I use a Pendlay weightlifting shoe. they have a lifted heel, but it is very firm, you dont want something that will "give" during a lift.…

one of three options i can think of really: a) you are putting on muscle, gaining muscle quickly would be difficult.. b) its water weight. does it fluctuate at all, or hold pretty steady? do you drink enough water, hows your sodium intake? c) too many calories. I actually have a friend that ran his first full marathon, and…

take a peek at Rachel Cosgroves book "the female body breakthrough" ( her husband is the co-author of "new rules of lifting for women") i purchased it for my wife a few months ago and she loves it.. great information for new, or experienced lifters, shows you how to perform the exercises, provides routines and also diet…

I would suggest you start with body weight squats to get comfortable with the form, and depth.. then progress to goblet squats. from there you could either progress to front squats or back squats if you are comfortable.. if not sure about your form, bring in a camera and video tape yourself. NOTE: if you have any worries…

ok.. so what you are saying is that newbies (Men) should: a) only speak if spoken to.. and then only answer YES or NO.. (followed by "your excellence") b) never squat in the curl rack c) make sure you are wearing at least $10 of cologne/perfume.. a good amount of the expensive stuff or entire bottle of cheap stuff d) eat…

Mel, you are absolutely right.. I would stick with eating off the blue plates or Red.. the blue plates are 20 Kilo's and the red ones are 25 Kilo's, so it makes sense that you will eat less since you are eating off an olympic plate that weighs over 50lbs (for the red olympic plates)…

Good point Boston.. I think the majority of the people I see at typical box gyms do them wrong, but Im not "that guy" that goes over and offers tips on technique to strangers.. the biggest mistake I observe is people trying to swing the weight with their arms.. the arms are just hooks and the movement is from the hip drive…

i have a coach. I put a good amount of focus on Olympic lifts and good coaching is pretty important in improving ones performance. I do enjoy working out with a group, as i find that (assuming the right group dynamic) we push each other to work even harder. I think the same theory works well for new lifters and most new…

i got tennis elbow in my right arm.. amazingly painful. I tried to self medicate with advil, but finally went to the doctor, and then referred to an ortho doc.. was put in a brace for 5 weeks (i still worked out, just tried be careful of grip stuff.. and made sure to use neutral grip - versus with wrist cocked) i also did…

A) if you feel 12 miles an hour is slow, then you are certainly faster than I am. b) 12mph is the max on the treadmills I have tried. c) I noted I only do that particular workout when in a hotel with very limited equipment. when you travel for business, you sometimes have to make do. d) yes.. if I had a track available,…

some experts (such as mike boyle) will advise high exertion, then rest.. versus slow walk, etc.. Here is example of a HIT workout i do when on the road, if the hotel only has treadmills. 2 minute warmup walk at 3.5 mph. I then jump off.. standing on the side rails of the treadmill.. increase speed to 6 mph 70 second run@…

Amen.. I have a friend that has a short/squat build. he started running because he wanted "a runners body" long lean limbs.. Err.. I am fairly sure that running will not increase the length of your limbs. I always thought it fascinating that people think of a body type with a sport and thinking the sport makes them that…

I strongly feel that if a person is a prick, they can still do it while using PC terms. Its not about the words, it is more about intent and the persons actions.
-
yeah.. I guess im pretty direct. . 50+ lbs ago, i described myself as "fat" because I was. I call my best friend "black" if trying to describe to a host at a restaurant because he quips that he has never been to Africa.. hes just a black dude. I think it boils down to intent.. you can use PC words and still be a prick..…

look into Rachel Cosgrove's book "female body breakthrough". it shows you how to do the exercises properly, gives you programs you can follow and advice on nutrition as well.. I purchased it for my wife and she loves it.

LOL. you are a funny guy. In spite of your attempt at a personal attack, I will actually answer your question. I was in a generic box gym because i was out of town visiting my in-laws. I had to wait for this guy for a bench and he was just a weird dude. grunting and groaning, and kept playing with his gloves. Like I said,…
-
LOL. 1. never said i adored calluses, never said i dont care about my hands. 2. I think at least one other poster acknowledged that gloves do not prevent calluses. 3. never had a problem with grip, as i use chalk. 4. honestly, i have never seen anyone in my gym, or a couple of others I frequent while traveling, wearing…

I bought a copy of Rachel Cosgroves book for my wife and she loves it.. I think its called "the female body breakthrough". Rachel and her husband are very well known trainers, and her book covers technique, and gives routines for you to do with free weights and body weight.
