Protein powders can cause excess gas, so it could be that. I was having really odd inside issues (felt almost like heart palpitations) and it turned out to be the vitamins (one-a-days) I was taking.

I suppose people of the same faith follow different rules based upon their locations. Around here it is very common to not eat meat or any product based upon animals for the Fridays - so to me, it's a given. Apparently it's not the same for everyone. But I'm not about to argue over the rules of Lent - as I said, I thought…

I read it differently, as following the "no meat or dairy" would rule out pizzas and the majority of pastas and being a Lent requirement not a calorie requirement. Too many rules for Lent ;-)
-
Not this, because one of the options for observing Lent is no meat, no dairy or eggs on Fridays. You can't have less, you have none.
-
For Lent we've turned our Fridays into tofu Fridays. Tonight I'm BBQing some funky Italian sausage flavour tofu dogs. 36g of protein for two of them.

lol.. didn't see that coming. :p

I'm doing it for the babes. All of them. B)

It could be.... your math sucks.

I want that on a shirt, "Jugs, not hugs" lol

I think I grew a tumor checking out her profile - oh wait, it's... not... a... tumor... :p

I had something similar except it was accompanied by palpitations. The internet had me convinced I was dying. I went to the doctor (as you should) and it turned out to be from the multivitamins I was taking. Switched brands and it went away.

If you think that is discouraging... wait until you go out of ketosis or stop the program. Anything you lose in your first week is almost a guaranteed to come back as your body replaces glutamine(?) and other things in your liver/body. There's no way to prevent it (and probably why phase 3 limits your calorie intake so you…

No worries with me. I broke out in a body rash after my first and last glass. My main drink right now is Schweppes Diet Ginger Ale. No aspartame, no sugar, no caffeine (it's illegal for clear drinks to contain caffeine in Canada), no calories, no carbs.

IMO - I would look at magnesium as opposed to sodium. I think a blood test can tell you what you are lacking.
-
It does. I remember when KFC opened up there and they had to change their recipe because they were over the legal amounts allowed by law. In Canada they set it at 2300 but from what I understand, they are working to get it changed to 1300. Not all processed food is high in sodium - just look up any fish from the seas... 8…

We have one on our fridge (it's a magnet white board) and when we measure out our servings we write it down. Nothing dumb about it.

My cat's breath smells like cat food.

Medium? Small? Cups? None of that means anything since they're all relative. What were the weights?
-
Eat. If you go over 200 cals then be 100 less over the next couple days.
-
I weigh all my veggies raw but my meat cooked.
-
I find it a lot easier to avoid bread and pasta. Normally don't have problems staying around 1700 cals per day. But for me, I don't care much for pasta so it's not like I'm sacrificing anything - and if I want a bun once in a while I'll have one.
-
You're lucky.... the only excuse I have to avoid most things is my own laziness....... :glasses: But on a more serious note - that sucks that you may not be able to follow through with a dream. I had picked up an elliptical machine fairly cheaply. Someone told me it was low impact (they lied, it hurt my knees more than…

Regina...... the city that rhymes with fun

If you were miserable over weight, you'll be miserable no matter what. People direct their 'miserableness' at whatever is closest to them, mostly themselves. If it's not the weight it's something else. Once they're skinny they won't like their feet... or their hair... or their muscles... or their.... etc, etc, etc......
-
And to those who haven't given up anything..... a quick question. When your allowed calories fall between 1400-1700 per day, would you still be meeting your goals (based on your diary today)? The reason I ask, is I see a lot of comments with people bragging about eating deserts every day and still losing weight - given…

And stores need to make money - even charity ones.

As a rule... bread, rice and potatoes. I still have pizza once in a while but I can't justify (or squeeze in) the calories to eat them (bread, rice and potatoes) on a daily basis. I don't miss them either. For rice I just have cauliflower (shredded and fried - or baked). For potatoes... well, I've never really liked them…
-
I'd say.... don't do it if you have another choice. Nothing wrong with keeping a deficit to make up for a day down the road or mistakes in logging. Unless you're not trying to lose weight. Then go for it. One quote that keeps me in check is, "You're not a dog, don't reward yourself with food".

I'm that guy.

Yes. I'm a few pounds from my BMI being in the normal range but I still see myself the same as I was before I started.
