  • Some gyms have hand bikes? Also, I have the 30 day shred with Jillian Michaels, there is a cardio move where you stand with your legs slightly wider than your shoulders, bend your knees, then punch with one hand then the other. Alternating fast punches. I don't know if you can do that or not, but maybe try and find…
  • It depends on how much you exercise. If you are exercising a lot, you need that protein. I also don't think lean protein is bad for you. Look at the fat counts in your diary, if those are up, be concerned..... if it's just your protein that's up I don't see an issue! But, that's just my opinion!
  • Glad you guys told me that it can be dangerous! I feel fine and I rarely get leg cramps or anything with the amount I eat right now. The only reason I even think about it is because when I look at my nutrition information I meet every goal (Iron, Vit. A, Vit. C, etc). except the potassium. I guess I figured if it was…
  • If you aren't hungry that usually means your metabolism isn't working hard enough. Unfortunately the only way to fix that is to eat more often. I have a hard time eating lunch for some reason and I've been loving smoothies. I use 1 cup of low fat yogurt, 3/4 a cup of a frozen berry (strawberry, blueberry, whatever), 1…
  • I have no idea. But, I had someone take cucumber vodka (they use it in bloody marys) and mix it with water and then squeeze lemons and limes in it. It tastes like that cucumber water they serve at spas and it was under 100 calories (though I put 100 in my diary to be safe)
  • The light weight and high reps thing is true. You could try pilates? It works to make your muscles long and lean not bulky. I know the pilates class I do has a TON of thigh and leg work.
  • I tend to put Sexy ***** by Akon on repeat. Lol. Something about hearing "damn you's a sexy *****" over and over motivates me
  • I agree that your son is just looking up to mommy. I would say "mommy had all her iron today! yay! and she lost a pound...." Maybe putting the weightloss as an after thought to the nutritional information will help him see why you are doing this.
  • I think it's good that you realize you need to gain some weight. I find it sad that people on this post are being rude, while I agree that this isn't a success story, I also realize that you need support. You need to see a dr. and determine what a healthy weight is for your height and body type and then stick to that. I…
  • CONGRATS! You look amazing, I wouldn't recognize you! Keep it up!
  • Any weight loss or gain can affect TOM. Some people who exercise a lot don't even have one!
  • Nothing white at all? Like no egg whites? No milk? I have a lot of food allergies and had to avoid white flour and white sugar for awhile. I found granola to be the best thing in the world. Anything with oats holds you over for awhile. You probably aren't eating enough calories because of the appetite suppression medicine.…
  • Remember you are usually going to lose weight in the last place you gained it. So if your stomach has been a problem for a long time, it may take the longest to lose. However, pay attention to other areas of your body.... maybe your knees have lost inches!
  • I don't think 1 can of diet coke is that bad! You have to be realisitic, if you want to lose weight and keep it off long term, you can't deprive yourself of everything that you really enjoy. Most anything in moderation is okay, it's excessive drinking of pop that causes you to be unhealthy. If that 1 can of diet coke makes…
  • I add a vitamin supplement to my water called Emergen-C. It's available in many flavors (I suggest Lemon/Lime), and is 25 calories per packet. I usually do 2 packets a day.

  • I have the same problem! Lower abs are stubborn for most people. Ab exercises to target lower abs.... * Lay on a flat weightlifting bench (like it's a bed, not sideways!) with your butt at the edge of it. HOLD ON right near your ears. Then bring your legs up and try to touch your toes behind your head. Then bring your legs…
  • I eat 1200 calories a day. If I exercise and burn 400, I will sometimes eat half of these "extra" calories. I generally feel full, and have energy and everything. I've lost weight and 1200 a day seems to work for me.
  • Try to make sure you consume at least 1200 calories. Don't figure that you need to eat the extra exercise calories on top of that. I have the same problem though. Everytime the app. tells my I am going into starvation mode I go to the cabinet, grab something, type it in.... then grab something else, type it in, I feel like…
  • As far as dinner goes, Amy's Organic makes some frozen dinners that are pretty filling and lower calorie. I also eat frozen meals by gluten free cafe, but I don't know if you'd eat that =) Also when I get home and am craving junk food I eat low fat snack pack chocolate pudding, it's only 80 calories for the cup! Sometimes…
  • Tell the FH that men should eat a whole lot more than women =) Good luck, try not to get discouraged. I know the first few weeks of doing this were harder than it is now. It takes getting used to, and it takes awhile to find foods that are low calorie. For exercise you can try Jillian Michael's 30 day shred (they have it…
  • I would imagine it's hard to stay motivated if you don't know what you've lost. You saying I could be 25 pounds heavier, takes away the feeling of success you should have!
  • Ok I just looked at your height and current weight.... you are an inch taller than me but your current weight is exactly what my starting weight was! So expect to lose 12 pounds in one month for sure! =)
  • I've lost 12 pounds in one month. It depends on how much you need to lose and how realistic your goal weight is according to your height. If you are 5ft. 10in. and want to weigh 110 and currently weigh 130, you are not going to lose much! But, just make sure you eat enough with all that exercise, you don't want to be under…
  • Tortillas are a lot lower calorie than bread, the ones I eat are 65 a piece. You can also get low calorie cheese (you have to search, sometimes it's hard to find). Salami isn't bad for lunch meat as far as calories go either. That is usually my lunch right there with a low cal yogurt. Also fruit is very low and easy to…
  • I understand how you feel listening to Jillian, I want to tell her to be quiet and jam some tunes to work out to!
  • I am looking at all of these messages from you guys and I am so proud of ALL of you. I cannot imagine what a daunting task it is to need to lose 100 pounds.... I would like to lose 20-25 but even at 15 I would be happy. I am amazed at the motivation you guys have! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I think it's just helpful to hear that other people have to deal with it too!
  • My best friend went to a shoe store with the same problem. A saleslady told her that shoes you run in should be about a size bigger than your normal shoes. She also showed her a "runner's tie" to keep shoes tight around the ankle. Basically you unlace the top holes, then put the laces through the top holes on the same side…
  • Most restaurants do have a menu with calorie counts. It is generally a binder in the backroom with lists of calories hidden behind ingredient lists and food allergy information. I have asked at Boston's Pizza and a few other restaurants and they were able to find it. If not, your server may just not know where this…
