Try magnesium citrate and cascara sagrada.

The pancake syrup and Barbeque Sauce are great. I don't like any of the others I have tried: salad dressings, peanut butter, may. They all have a nasty taste that I can't get past.

4 years! Awesome. I have just started maintenance - first week of official Phase 4 (maintenance) of Ideal Protein. I am joining the Maintenance Group. Let's get it active, again!

Amazing accomplishment. Stay proud of what you have done and don't look back.

I just received a shipment of Proti Diet brand bars from Diet Direct. The cost was $12.99 per box of 7 (versus paying $27.90 for Ideal Protein bars from my clinic). I plan to have them on hand for quick on-the-go meals in maintenance.

Putting together a box of clothes to donate because they are now too BIG. So many times I donated clothing that was too small. Never again!

Hi. I'll be 60 this month. Yikes! Was having lots of health issues until I started taking the weight off. My challenge now is to concentrate on new habits and keep it off. Feel free to add me. I log every day and keep an open diary.

It has to be leaving in "waste" and urine. That's why we keep drinking all of that water!

I gave up: eating whatever I wanted, whenever I felt like it, most carbs, dairy, sweeteners of all kinds, having more than one cup of coffee per day. Mostly I gave up being dehydrated and tired and sick all of the time. I also gave up hating to look in a mirror and sitting out all of the fun!

Welcome, Amy. Good for you for doing this for yourself and your daughter. Keep it up. You can do it. Seeing someone else change can be hard for many people to accept. Don't let anyone else's fears or lack of support stop you. Depression is something many of us here share. When you start eating right, that should become…

I was diagnosed with fibro sometime around 2006. I became more and more sedentary and gained more and more weight. Four months ago I decided I had had enough of being heavy and feeling poorly. I adopted a low carb/healthy protein diet and began eating more veggies than I have ever eaten in my life. I have cut out all…

Welcome, Bruce. Your positive attitude will get you there!

Staying on track with meal ideas is one of my top concerns at this point, too. The psychological aspect of this whole "don't let the fat girl out again" issue is also high on my priority list. Affirmations in the way of books, documentaries, etc. that help keep the healthy lifestyle mindset going are so helpful to…

Definitely a difference. Looking good. Keep it up.

I broke up with carbs and said hello to water!

My unofficial (home scale, not at the clinic) weight this morning was one pound under my goal. I will be starting Phase 2 on Friday. I plan to up my exercise as I move toward Phase 4 and I love the idea of starting the 30-day shred at that time. By April 10? I don't know. Two weeks on Phase 2 and two weeks on Phase 3;…

That is so exciting! I'm jealous.

I am buying myself a Fitbit One and a Fitbit Aria Wifi Smart Scale.

Great topic. I just finished reading "The Power of Habits". We have so many automatic habits and thoughts that got us to this point. Understanding the power of habit and how to analyze our own trigger points goes a long way toward healing/retraining ourselves. Goals put into practice and repeated often enough become habits…

Definitely drink enough water. Eight glasses is the minimum someone came up with way back when because 8x8 (8 oz 8x a day) was easy to remember. Take your current weight in pounds, divide by 2...that is the number of ounces you should be drinking per day as a rule of thumb. Get enough fiber (unlimited lettuce!!) and take…

Hi Deb. As a fellow sugarholic, I highly recommend reading "The Power of Habit" by Charles Duhigg. It helps to shed light on how we form habits and the science of breaking them for good.

Easy crockpot burrito filling: London Broil 2 Tbsp Vinegar 1 Package of Taco Seasoning Mix 1 Can diced Ortega Chiles Put on low and cook for about 8 hours...until you can pull it apart with two forks. It is the aerobic exercise my IP coach cautioned me about (and I kept asking). We want to keep burning fat reserves, not have our bodies look to lean muscle for energy.

I'm not entirely sure what Paleo entails. My daughter follows the Vegan Before 6:00 (VB6) plan and loves it - basically eat vegan before 6:00pm, then eat a normal amount of meat if you want with your dinner. Her cholesterol improved greatly in just one month and she finds it easy to do.

I would skip the convenience store if at all possible and find a grocery store then check the produce section for ready to eat jicama sticks, celery, radishes, English cucumbers (anything you can eat without peeling/chopping/cooking). As far as "least worst", maybe a hot dog if you can find one that is low fat (turkey)…

Hi. It's a great time to start. Rest assured the symptoms will all go away. Being active will help. When I went through it, I became less active and gained too much weight. The extra weight did not help. I will be 60 in a few months; 5'4"; started a healthy weight loss and light exercise plan on December 6, 2013 at 173…
