  • I'm no specialist or anything, but I would add: - When you binge, you do not eat like a "normal person". Period. We're not talking of a huge meal or a crazy Christmas fiest at Grand-Ma, here. - No one binges in public or in front of other people. - And ... typically, you will not talk about your binge (or will be vague and…
  • You're not pathetic, and not a "wreck". You probably have a disorder regarding your body image. You had ups, and downs, so who knows, with professional help, maybe it would not be too hard to keep it in check.
  • Under 15 minutes? I missed this in OP. Because otherwise, a 1000 cal. meal is really nothing to write home about.
  • Goodness, people have weird definition of "a binge" ... What you did is to overeat.
  • If at 30 years-old, you can spend an entire day crying because of a thin layer of fat and skin over your stomach, you need professional help. It will not just go away. What strikes me is that you have a BF. So unless you want to be a bikini model, rationally, having a flat and firm stomach would change absolutely nothing…
  • You know darn well the answer.
  • I am sorry I was rude, but I know you are not dumb - far from it - so I was not to fall in the trap of answering your silly question. I did not say that you are anorexic. No one can make a diagnosis over the Internet. Only a professional could do it, and suggest treatments. All I am comfortable saying, like others did, is…
  • I see that over the years you had episodes of "starvation" and/or low weight, and that over time, you gain everything back - plus some. Can you see the pattern there? I guess no one will convince you that you should eat more only by talking about your health - you probably don't give a fig about your health. But maybe if I…
  • Now, I'll let OP speak for herself. But you have no idea of the importance and value given to having large breasts by kids born circa 1995 and later. You have no idea.
  • You don't absolutely need to exercise to lose weight. Therefore, if you cannot workout for the time being, don't worry about it. Take it off your mind - along with the "guilt feeling" and pressure to do your exercises at all costs. Focus on eating better (less processed food as possible) and in smaller quantities. Baby…
  • Yes, brushing it off is usually the best solution. Most people don't mean harm. What happened in my workplace was the result of months of disparaging comments from a few colleagues ... I obviously do not recommend "having a fit" as soon as someone mentions that you're trimmer than before ! ;-)
  • Don't hesitate to tell people that it's rude to make negative comments on the way you look. Because it is. Many years ago, in my workplace, I fixed the situation in the lunch room, at noon. I was sick and tired of being calld too skinny or too small, although I was not at all (I was around 110 - 112 pounds for a 5'3, would…
  • When you say that you gave in a few times ... 1. how many times, and 2. by how many calories?
  • Sometimes the problem is not the excess weight itself: it's how and what you are eating to be at that weight. If you eat junk food on a regular basis, it's not healthy. If you eat "healthy" food but have excess weight, it's because you eat too much of it, and it's really not really better than eating junk food. I am not…
  • What do you mean, "do you believe your mirror reflection or the camera..." ? It's not a matter of believing, it's about knowing. So I get my weight from the scale and my measurements from a tape. And BTW, I think you should put this camera down for a while. Is your profile up to date ? Because I saw you still have to lose…
  • I don't quite understand. If the reason you don't work out is lack of time, how on Earth signing up in a challenge/bet would change this?
  • I am 43, 5'4, my goal is 115. This is when I look my best, and it is not too difficult to maintain. But I won't go crazy with this goal, under 120 is OK.
  • Well, it's not vain to want a sexual life (unless you are hyper religious, or 90 years-old - and even then ...).
  • That's what I was saying: There is no way in hell you are ready to consider that maybe, perhaps, who knows, there is a possibility that those programs are somehow flawed. However, you KNOW that there is something "not working within your metabolism". Ok, then.
  • I know ... But this whole thread is not about health, it's about her look (in OP's opinion). So yes, she can still be in a healthy range, but since she is at the top end of it, there is some room for her to lose weigh. That was my point. Read her original post: she thinks that the only way to lose the little belly is to…
  • This. Because only bony women can wear low-cut pants one or two sizes too small without any flesh spilling out of it. Also, OP, 140 pounds for a 5'3 height is slightly overweight. This is why you have excess fat around the waist. it could be elsewhere, but trust me, you wouldn't be happier with fat legs, or arms, or face…
  • If I could share a tip (that you may not find useful at all, sorry in advance) : stop calling the fat that is on your body "baby fat" or "baby weight", like so many moms do. Pregnancy is the context during which you gained the weight. It is OVER now (or will be over very soon, as I understand you gave birth a few weeks…
  • I don't understand: why do you say that? What makes you think that you will not lose fat around the waist and on the stomach until your reach 8 stones (or 112 lbs) ? It is true that bodies don't shed the weight evenly. Some carry the weight around the waist; others in the face, chest and back; most women will carry it in…
  • "Sticking out or not" is not a matter of opinion or taste, it's a matter of geometry. It does not stick out. It is perfectly flat, except that your spine that is curved a little bit. Now, whether you like this or not, or whether you'd prefer to have a concave stomach, is a different story. But the fact IS that there is no…
  • Well, just calculate in your head, and log the total calories for the meal, or even for the entire day. It takes a second. No Internet? Write it down on a tiny piece of paper kept in your wallet with your dollar bills. Again, just do the maths in your head and plug a rounded number. When you're back home and have a chance,…
  • I don't understand this "I don't trust my body" statement. First of all, why do you rely more on what "programs" tell you than what you own body and weight loss have been telling you? What are these programs anyway? Who made them? Who told you they are supposed to work universally for every one? Why don't you focus on…
  • My advice may sound silly, but next time you'll be in a grocery store, grab one 10 lbs and one 5 lbs bags of potatoes, and imagine this out off of your body. Now, I don't know where you "carry" your weight, but chances are you will need to change most of your clothes. (This is what I call "a happy problem"!)
  • I believe in this, too. Snacking is really just an habit, sometimes, even if it does not feel like it. It seems counter intuitive, but maybe you could try not to snack at all sometimes? It may work for you, who knows. I know it did for me ! "Scheduled" snacks are a thing of the past.
