Now that's a simple, but great idea. Because really we have this impression that everywhere we look, no matter the media, everyone and his mother-in-law is a "Instagram model". (Plus it's less creepy than staring at people in person. :p )

Large breasts having a "perfect shape" by themselves, without surgery? In what dimension does this exist? I know it's hard not to compare ourselves to other women, even if it's only hurting us; but don't start comparing yourself to bodies that were changed by surgery and/or photoshop. I am not saying that "miracles of…

Oh wow! How many years of life - quality life! - have you given yourself back? Congrats, it must have been hard but the result is amazing.

This cartoon is useless. Pretty much everyone on this thread will look at it and think - "ha, this is so true, but does not apply at all to what I am thinking / saying. "
-
Do you like science? Tell me: did you read everything that I wrote + the comments I was replying to, the whole in the context of the thread's topic, i.e. the question posted by OP ? Did you?
-
No one. I was talking in general.
-
So true. In this day and age, having a broader vision of things is not popular. We have tons and tons of informations and facts, and very little understanding and actual knowledge.
-
Oh for Pet's sake - here you go: "CICO diet", as short for "a diet based on the CICO principle where all calories have the same value" Better?
-
I don't disagree with you. But you are talking about the tree, while I was talking about the whole forest. A diet is as a whole system. Like any computer or information system: it must include the "user". Ex. You are responsible for designing and maintaining the information system, say, of an insurance company. A problem…

I think that the obesity epidemic can be explained in part by this type of thread. The problem is that everybody is so sure to know all there is to know about weight and nutrition. Yet everyone and their dog is on a perpetual diet: gains, and loses, and gain and loses again. Our weight is out of control but man, do we HAVE…

Especially the second one: "Hey guys, look at my new belt!" :D I thought only teens did that. Anyway. Now more seriously, OP, assuming your post is serious: If you use a free and mostly anonymous internet forum to validate a DOCTOR recommendation , stop seeing that doctor and find another one that you will trust.
-
@ninerbuff You should read the whole thread, if you had a solid 30 minutes to waste ... I was originally replying to someone who, in my opinion, was arrogant in his reply to OP. Then I was referring to those who confuse "bragging / showing off" and "helping /giving advice". As we say where I live: if the hat does not fit…

So you're rude to your clients because, why, you're successful so you earned the right to? You believe that something good can come out of belittling someone? You believe that the knowledge you possess at this time, is the universal and eternal truth? No? You don't? Well then, my comment was not meant to include you.
-
Possibly true. But in such case Psychology 101 was obviously not part of their curriculum.
-
My point exactly. So if OP regained, it's not necessarily because at some point he decided to eat this, or not to eat that. And my second point is that there are very few persons here who can afford looking down on anyone, as regards weight and diet, and related psychology. And typically, those people won't have to resort…

Last time I checked, there is not one method - NONE - including CICO, that will make people lose weight once and for good. How many people are (re-re-re-) re-starters, on this thread alone ? I'm all for CICO, but gimme a break. I've lost weight, and gained back, and lost again. Open mind and curiosity has never killed…

This, in bold, is more than enough to justify seeking professional help. Now, whether or not you have an eating disorder ... we should leave it to the health practitioner to confirm the diagnosis, and the treatment. So take care - and take an appointment as soon as you can.
-
Where do you live? In a place where no one is fat, I presume?
-
"Putting kids first". What does it mean, exactly? What we are talking about? Are we talking about taking care of a kid who is sick and needs to be taken care of, or a kid who absolutely needs help with his homework, or needs to be driven to school because there is no other mean of transportation, etc? Or are we talking…

Well I sure WISH my fat got in my butt and boob, and not in my legs, upper arms and stomach. :-P You're blessed!
-
No... And besides, OP is 5'1". In any event, she has a very good weight loss rate: 0.81 lb per week.
-
Cool? Well, allow me to think it is NOT cool that some of us can't be as slim as you without starving, but I get your point.
-
0_o Really? You were at 125 for 5'4" and someone thought you had cancer? Maybe this person lives in an environment where almost everybody is overweight?
-
I am mainly sedentary, although I walk a lot and always have (never owned a car and live downtown a large city). So to maintain a weight under 110, at 5'4", I have to stay around 1300/day. But to maintain at 115-120, I can eat more. I've never calculated precisely, but I know that I can eat enough to never be hungry…
-
I am 5'4 (45 years-old). As much as I would love to go back to 105-109, I know it means being on a strict 1000-1100 diet for several months, and then, having to remain at 1300 approx. only to maintain. No way. These years are behind me. So my goal is 115 to 119, which I know is easier to reach, and most importantly, easily…

I can't believe people are suggesting you should remove your mother from your life because she makes remarks on your weight and looks. Wow, such drama. Thankfully, others suggest that you have a conversation with her. Please follow these last advices. I have a mom who did basically the same thing than yours, by the way.…

No. I don't know what my body fat % is, and I don't want to know. There's no end to what they will come up with to create insecurities and reasons for dissatisfaction and feeling of inadequacy. I am 45 years-old and decided to pass on this one.
-
I'll give you a tip: stop calling it "baby's weight". It's yours. I guess that many moms will roll eyes when reading this, but seriously. I think it's important to face the reality and to call a spade a spade. Except for the weight that any women will gain during pregnancy (which is not a lot of weight) the excess is all…

Quite frankly, at 1200 calories per day, I have to stay away from many social events. I am 45 years-old, and ALL social meeting involves food and/or drink. Now you'll tell me that I could go, enjoy the company as I don't have to eat or drink, but when the activity is to go to the restaurant and/or "to have drinks", it's…
