"MFP doesn't differentiate between added sugars and natural sugars. " no difference.

so many congratulations to you! yay! how did you find mixing crossfit and running? Mrs Toad likes that combo too and has found the two disciplines to be mutually supportive CONGRATULATIONS and mega awesome good luck to the others who are planning their halves! yay!

DUDE! congrats! yay! AWESOME!! :)

ladder 500, 400, 300, 200, 100 = 1500 yd (2 min rest, 2min, 1:30, 1:00 rest) first time back in the water (except for snorting around) since the end of my college swimming career! (25 years ago this upcoming February) today was day one training for the 2016 Transplant Games in Cleveland! woo hoo. of note: calves and feet…
-
sweet! congrats. that's awesome work! yay! take care of your shoulder - that's a good lesson for the rest of us - properly bailing on a jerk or other overhead movements.
-
as an immunocompromised type, thank you tincanonastring! even before transplant, nothing steamed me like the antivaxxers. (and got my flu shot, too).
-
C'mon Mummyadams! hang in there! dont be discouraged! keep it up! plateaus happen. and check into the shoulder. maybe some assistance / prehab/rehab stuff could help. sleep, hydration, nutrition, etc etc etc factor in. rest days. the whole bunch. then there's the sentiment in the final sentence: why not? the going is tough…

Also started at age of 40. love it and really have a good time. How many of you were college athletes in the distant past? How much had your general fitness declined? (not from competition days, but from what you'd consider an acceptable, age-appropriate level) It most definitely would be fun seeing more of the masters…

lovin these WoDs. And the effort. so cool. *cheering*
-
qft!! congrats across the board

Vizslas in your pic? awesome. at least the dogs are. appropriate: isn't it great thinking of the final image of Brett Favre for his very last play.... (GO BEARS)
-
only exercise restrictions are "as tolerated". The coumadin clinic folks are really patronizing and make you root for antidote for the NOACs...
-
x3  "sciencebasedmedicine dot org" occasionally takes him down, too.

+1 this. see how you're improving. don't worry about the other guy. think Yoda: about the other guy worry not. to faux competition worry leads. to one upping faux competition leads. to bad form one-upping causes. injury the cause of one-upping is. if you're improving, that's awesome!

am also a new-to-warfarin patient (also a PE). another two weeks before I 'm allowed to resume exercise, but they said that there should be no restrictions (which means a return to burpees, yay!) anyhow, fill find out more at the Coumadin clinic...cheers
-
just prescribed warfarin last week. am also figuring out how to adjust the diet. the majority of my diet is high in Vit K. have Coumadin clinic appt tomorrow where I'll ask more about diet and pass it on. (like recipies and replacements)
-
so awesome! yay! "congratulations" doesn't even begin to express just how fantastic that is! WONDERFUL!
-
love burpees, thrusters, wall balls, squats (back, front, overhead), BOR, overhead lunges like the sohp pretty much want to get better at cleans should do more pullups (strict), deadlifts like the idea of non-kipping HSPUs more for fun :) avoid - kipping, "american" kb swings, more than 3 snatches in a row, double unders -…

bigger than a shot. smaller than a mug? [runs off]

???? huh? not even remotely true. it sounds as if they have absolutely no idea of physical effort, let alone what might be "too intense". @ TS: you don't have to justify or explain your exercise to them at all. Do your thing and keep focused! Rant here, post your successes here. There are lots of posters here who do get it…

awesome - I've always called this type of couplet "Nigel Tufnel" (goes to 11) :)

it's just a "party trick" lift... pay it no heed and move on. sure, the skill needed to perform is impressive, but you know, if you don't wanna do it, don't. they obviously do.
-
awesome work, everybody! yay!
-
anything with burpees, wall balls, thrusters, rowing, Russian KB swings, overhead lunges, bear crawl... yay burpees!
-
hahaha. Stacie Tovar's thoracic rounding was something. an excellent example of how NOT to deadlift!
-
the BMI is good for populations, not individuals. It's not a productive measure for day-to-day work. Use individualized measures instead.
-
agreed. but consider this - lots of the media/promotion was "open for all" and they start out with a xfit specific movement that may not even be a part of every crossfitter's goals. They might keep with the more specific movements and design a more crossfit centric open, as opposed to a truely "open" open. food for thought!

letsee. science vs pop culture myths. letsee. discredited wakefield study. jenny mcc and oprah being full of nonproven, incorrect ****. letsee. no brainer.

http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/the-detox-scam-how-to-spot-it-and-how-to-avoid-it/ http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/dr-oz-revisited/ It's not a question of liking the dude or not. It's that he's a quack who promotes unproven, potentially harmful "solutions".
