  • You can log the 1/4 as .25 , .5 for 1/2 etc and the correct amount will be added then  That way it is easier to see how much you actually eat, both for you and when asking for advice. My guess on your problem though, is that your HRM is not accurate in how many calories you burn, and you may need to do what others…
  • this is all true. go see a specialist for a second opinion.
  • I try to stay in low sodium as well. Love Mexican food. What I found like you, is that many items have high sodium,.However, you can buy dry beans ,make your own rice ,etc. and make things from scratch. That way no extra sodium is added.
  • I agree but maybe sculpting the body is more important at this stage rather than focusing on more weight loss? Just a thought
  • your bmi is 22.8. why do you feel you need to lose more?
  • I had high cholesterol as well, and refused to take the drug my doctor wanted me on. Then I switched doctor and she has not tried convince me to get on meds. Discussing it with my chiropractor, he is all against using the meds, especially for women who has had not heart related medical problem. You can always ask if you…
  • Think the OP means the level sodium allowed is high, and she knows she is well below, and wondering if that is bad.
  • I like to keep my sodium low. A lower sodium diet allows about 1500 a day,and I try to keep that as a goal even if we are allowed more. Eating out is horrible...I have started looking at nutrition at restaurants before we go, they are often 1000-3000 per meal! A subway sandwich has 750!
  • Thank you. I am a shortie, and the truth is we don't need as many calories. There are more of us on here, we just tend to not say much as there seems to be an uproar against eating the 1200 calories only. At least every time it is mentioned, it is a big deal and everyone wants us to eat more. Wasn't eating too much what…
  • if you really weigh 160 it is certainly all in the right place! good for you!
  • If the photo is a new photo, there is no 20-30 lbs for you to lose...but maybe you are using an old one to see as a goal? And of course, 3 days is nothing to worry about!
  • don't do breakfast, but since starting logging on MFP in May, I realized I was lacking BIG on protein so usually a protein shake in the morning since I don't prefer to eat in the morning.
  • you might need to start logging for a couple weeks properly, everything you put in your mouth, weighing and measuring it all to really know how many calories you are eating. Without some consistent logging it is impossible to know.
  • thanks! that one is affordable too! I am going to return the one I have, cost me more than this one you are showing me. appreciate the suggestion

  • while doing what you can to adjust your diet is great, you do need to see a doctor. I understand the dilemma but please try this; call the clinic AND hospital closest to you, talk with their business office/billing and ask about different options you have. Many clinics/hospitals offer programs, discounts etc. to help out…
  • If you haven't already, you should check your blood pressure to make sure that it isn't going to high when you exercise. High blood pressure can cause headaches so better have it checked so you know that is not the problem as it can be dangerous.
  • Thank you for posting your recorded numbers! I just got a digital scale a few days ago and was wondering about it as I thought I might see a small decrease every day...this was good info, I will just record it and see. I am curious too just for myself to see if I can find patterns, or what my pattern might be
  • Interesting, i am going to remember that in case it happens to me, thank you for sharing
  • so true. I was sick a few years ago (not eating disorder), couldn't eat. Lost tons of weight quickly, doctor appointments but in the beginning wasn't taken seriously as I wasn't "skinny". Took some time before they figured it out, by that time I was on IV due to dehydration, and because of prolonged time with such low food…
  • I understand what you are saying. Protein is hard to get enough of, i am also a vegetarian so with 1200 I am taking extra protein of course. The only reason I responded to the OP was because I have read so many, bashing on the 1200. If a person is healthy, and full and satisfied, on the 1200, all calculators are pointing…
  • You are assuming I do not eat food I want? Why do you assume that? I eat what I want, and you can eat what you want... not losing muscle mass...doing strength training, and I am very well aware of nutrition. I did use the TDEE calculator but I am no expert. As I stated, I added my numbers and said I had desk job. I WANT to…
  • Since the TDEE really doesn't know how much or what exercise one does, I prefer to use the ption they have for "desk job" instead of the number of days I exercise, and those are the number they give me. Then I calculate the ones I burn myself. But between being a female, older age and short, it is hard to work to a decent…
  • Number are correct if a person is a "couch potato ,desk job". I DO add exercise, a LOT of it to get my deficit higher, but there is no way I am going to eat them and ruin all the hard work as I am very satisfied with 1200 calories. But yes the numbers are correct.
  • you might want to figure the BMR and TDEE for other numbers than your own before assuming what works for you will work for others. My BMR is 1206, TDEE 1447. Taking 3 years to lose 30 lbs is not in my plan.
  • obviously before deciding to go on a weight loss plan, you need to weigh yourself. while the doctors advice sounds "out there" I don't think anyone have enough information from the OP to give advice. did you refuse to get weighed at the doctor's office?
  • I thought I was the only one doing step too! Glad you started this thread and fun to see so many doing it! I didn't think they offered step classes at gyms either anymore in all honesty. Which I thought was sad as it is kick *kitten* cardio!
  • My weight "stalls" too, I have noticed it is at certain weights as well. I try to cut calories a little more, and add some new exercise as I feel that my body seem to respond to that. New moves, new muscles being used compared to the same regular routine. It is hard when the weight seem to stall like that, easy to get…
