• How many calories depends entirely on the person as well. Someone who is 5'11" cannot be compared to someone who is 4'11" (myself for example). I need a lot less calories than a taller person just to maintain so the calories eating for weight loss may be a lot less as well. I suggest adding exercise to burn off some…
• very nice, bookmarked
• I use GNC Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 Original, natural vanilla. As i strive to avoid artificial sweeteners (personal preference) this one is all natural ingredients. It is one of their more affordable ones too, I only buy when they are 50% off or buy one and get 50% off the second one. Need to keep an eye on that in…
• I normally weigh about 4 lbs more at the doctor than at home. Only by weighing on the same scale you will be able to accurately track your weight loss so happy to hear you bought one to get started. OP means original poster, in this thread, this means you. Good luck.
• Listen to vismal....he knows what he talks about, great advice :flowerforyou:
• Yes, I know, just being impatient, that is good advice
• Yes...but I so want to get rid of these last lbs!!
• I opened my diary ( I think). Usually exercise first thing in the morning most days on empty stomach as that feels best for me. Then have my protein drink right after.
•
Wrong. Her BMI is 1257, her TDEE is 1728 (with 1-3 hours of exercise; more if she works out more than that), and her TDEE - 20% is 1382. She, along with most women, should be eating AT LEAST 1200 calories per day.
Then why would I not lose weight, obviously I am at a deficit, and while metabolism can slow…
• I have hyper calcemia, have a tumor (they are usually benign) on my para thyroid, it shouldn't slow metabolism, just have many symptoms from it, loss of appetite is one. So assuming I will feel normal in a few weeks after they remove it
• Just trying to figure out what I can do after surgery to lose the rest, as weight has stalled for so many weeks, but perhaps I am ahead of myself.
• You should see a doctor and give him/her all this info. This is not the place for medical advice, you have more going on than weight gain...good luck!
• I am also 4'11", it is very hard to eat at a deficit at our height when there is not much to lose left. Calculators says 1440 cal/day on a sedentary level ( which I would be on a non exercise day I figure) so there is not much to work with (and yes people , this is not bmr , bmr is only 1202 for me. Frustrating being…
• Your BMI is 22.4, absolutely perfect. Focus on healthy life style instead is my advice :flowerforyou:
• It is hard to build new habits , and stick with them. Don't wait until tomorrow to start, start now! When it feels like it is getting old I try to remind myself why I am doing this, and the benefits. I want to be fit and healthy, it is a so exercising and eating well is a priority for me. Think about it like a habit such…
• You need to start weighing and measuring everything you eat before anything else. The most common reason for no weight loss is that you believe you eat less than you actually do. Start logging every day, everything and you will better see where the problem is.
• You also have some "quick added" calories, do yo u know for sure those are correct? You may be taking in more than you are aware of. Also, you do need to recalculate your calorie intake, I don't know your height/weight but for a smaller person it is hard to lose the last 10 lbs as we don't require many calories per day in…
• I totally understand the OP. And for those making their "funny" comments, the OP is right, too often when someone want to ask a question, and they mention eating 1200 calories...omg! Which makes it hard for those of us eating less (for whatever reason, excluding ed) to even ask a question. because we will be rudely in many…
• I do try to reward myself too  Shop for cute clothes I couldn't fit into before, maybe some other things like luxury skin care, just to give myself a treat. It feels good, and it is also replacing my behavior of rewarding with a food treat...
• It is easy to believe we eat less than we do. It happened to me as well. I barely ate, and drank anything...gained TONS of weight. My husband even didn't understand as he didn't think I ever ate either. But by logging ALL the food, weighing , and measuring (crucial), I have learned that while the amounts were small, the…
• You love it because you are used to it. Just as sugar, you need more to taste eventually. If you make an effort and at least stay below the recommended dose, you will get used to less salty taste. Then if you try to reduce it further you will be surprised how your taste buds awaken instead of needing all that sodium to…
• I see, thank you I had misunderstood that calculation from something I checked on.
• this thread seems useless (almost fake?) but if the OP is talking about kcal , that is a different measurement than calories. Just for everyones info, so have to convert it, might be off base but think 500 calories is more like 1500 kcal?
• enough for me too. So I get really annoyed with all of you nagging about that eating 1200 calories is wrong. I don't complain that others eat 1800 or whatever, we all have to do what works for us so stop bashing the 1200 calorie peeps. Thank you :flowerforyou: Edit: one post is sayhing women don't get enough iron on 1200,…
• Of course at your height and age, you can eat more. However, making general assumptions as you are is wrong. You have no idea what a 50 year old woman who is 4'11" need. You are young, and will learn eventually that people function very differently, hopefully you will learn that you really do not know it all at age 19.…
• I started right away with strength training, and I am very happy I did. With 15 lbs to go, my muscles are already defined. I don't do anything heavy, just some weight training to get in better shape. There is no reason to delay a healthy habit
• no I never eat back my exercise calories. Also, MFP seem to overestimate calories burned (which can be an issue with many electronic devices) so if you want to eat them back, I have seen others suggest trying to eat only half of them and see if that works.
