  • Just start each day with figuring out how to get through that day! One day at a time is the best way to tackle it. I quit 4 years ago and I did put on over 20 pounds - but I was not making an effort to control anything. Being here and committed to the MFP process is much of the battle already. Surround yourself with…
  • As long as you are not diabetic...I wouldn't concentrate on the sugars. I founds myself obsessing about the being over on the sugar but IMPOSSIBLE to come under at this point. I took it off my settings so I don't see it and I focus on calories, fiber, cholesterol and sodium!
  • Walking the dog and then my workout - and then an afternoon of laundry and cleaning to get ready to spend some time with my family for the weekend! Conference with my daughters teacher this afternoon to address her "behavior challenges"!!! OH FUN! Hope everyone has a great day!
  • There are a lot of variable to address to try to identify a problem: Are you drinking the appropriate amount of water? Is your lifestyle settings correct? What are you eating? is it a balanced nutritional diet?) Are you eating back your exercise calories (this is MFP's suggestions and followed by many users) What is your…
  • GREAT link with some awesome sounding recipes!!! THANKS!!!
  • return it!
  • OK I went another round and improved 2 out of three!!! Iko Iko 9957 (improvement) Katti Kalandal 11399 (same) Holiday 9445 (improvement) And wow...what a workout this is turning into!
  • Try to find out if the place you get it from publishes their nutritional information maybe?
  • I count as exercise my dog walk in the morning...but not my steps throughout the day because that is factored in daily living. And like so many people have already said...everyone is different and their journeys are different.
  • I have had this (oddly around the same time...about a month after starting this journey). After some research I selfdiagnosed as heartburn/digestion related. I took a few days of Zantac and it was gone. I get it back once in a while and I take some Zantac for a day or two and it goes away!
  • Cook Yourself Thin recipes have some great ideas for turning some not so healthy favorites into better choices!
  • This is one of the most talked about subjects on MFP...please use the search function to review the THOUSANDS of post on the subject to come to the conclusion that will be right for you!
  • OK Here are my scores at this point: Iko Iko 8852 (very first time for that song and then my scores when down hill from there?????) Katti Kalandal 11399 (one of my favorites and a great arm and shoulder workout!) Holiday 9243 (having flashbacks the whole time!) Worked out for a total of 35 minutes because I did each song 3…
  • www.allrecipes.com Best website ever!
  • I love Katti Kalandal as well so I can't wait to see what I can do on the others. Will try and post tomorrow!
  • The MFP recommendation is only 1/2 gallon of water a day. (64 ounces) I have not heard anything from members pushing for some crazy amount of water to be consummed. Just the standard...don't wait until you are thirsty because you are already dehydrated at that point!
  • In the Free Step option you can keep going until you stop it!
  • I have crunchy knees as well. I avoid lunges and anything that over does it. They don't normally hurt (but I also use them as a gross party trick!) A physcial therapist heard it (while getting therapy for plantar faciatits) and said that it is a sign of wearing cartilage. She eventually the cartilige would be gone and I…
  • Great job! Keep at it...I am not always consistant on my weight loss. Some weeks I may drop 3-4 pounds and other weeks flatline or half a pound lost. I just keep at it and stay diligent about measuring and weighing everything I eat to keep myself honest!
  • WOW - those look great. I look at egg roll wrappers all the time at the grocery store and have never pulled the trigger...I WILL NOW because those look fantastic!
  • I weigh my meat before putting it on the plate so no matter how it is prepared...I use the weight of the off the bone meat.
  • your workouts should not be counted towards daily activity level.
  • the way I do it is click on the person's name you want to add which will bring up their profile. Then click on the ADD FRIEND button.
  • Plateaus are are a typical occurance during the weight loss process. Don't get discouraged and continue with steady exercise. I just hit 9 pounds last week and the scale isn't moving this week at all. I am just keeping my head in the game and soldiering on!!!
  • What a great idea for a prize when a goal is met. Heck...if I looked that great I would have taken out a BILLBOARD!!! Really great job on your sucess and kudos to the creative ideas for the photo shoot.
  • I think 6 times a week is healthy...maybe just drop your intensity on a day or two. Instead of a hard core cardio workout...go for a nice solid walk. I just think there is nothing wrong (and everything right) with working out 6 days a week.
  • I agree that doing both is important for both weight loss and overall good health. Just like eating, exercise should be done in moderation based on what your body is telling you. I was EXHAUSTED the first couple weeks when I began my journey but it passed and I now have more energy that ever. (most days) Start with 30-45…
  • Borrowed from another member: "If you bite, write it"
  • Always stretch...especially if you are sore. Best way to get rid of soreness is a nice long relaxing stretching routine!!
  • Gross - yes - but if you can't ask it here then where else right? And my response is just as gross because I would think it would depend how soon after eating you got sick. I don't know...maybe count half of them? YIKES...sorry you are trying to figure this out!
