  • So I went to the doctor today to get a physical to make sure that everything was alright. I no longer fear getting on the scale like I used to when I was younger. The weird thing was once that I got on the scale and it should me at my current weight, I almost got emotional. I weighed the same I weighed in 8th grade, which…
  • Your calorie consumption is the most important thing to weight lost, so theoretically yes. However, eating foods that are high in sugar and sodium will cause health issues and possibly deter your progress. I personally allow myself to eat something back twice a week, and still stay in my calorie count.
  • 1. Finally hearing from sister that I didn't need to lose any more weight. 2. Getting my masters 3. Today - running my first 10 minute mile.
  • Don't feel bad! I think all of us have been there before. I think everyone has the moment where they decide that they are going to do it and stick with it. Sure, it's not easy and we all waver(I had danish cookies today), but the important part is getting back on the horse and trying and keep at it. Good luck!!:drinker:
  • I guess I will also put it here SW 150 Last week 148.6 This Week: 146.6 Loss of 2 pounds! Only 1.6 pounds to go and I reach my goal. :D
  • From my movie snob friends, they say yes!
  • I did it as well! I have no idea how, but I am super stoked about it! NOw I am only a pound away from my goal!

  • I have to echo what everyone else has said. It's water retention! I also weigh myself everyday, but I only count one of those weigh-ins as the main one. I set a date and stick to it. Don't worry - its all about the water :)
  • I wouldn't do it, because of all the sugars. How about eating some almonds? They are healthy and are calorie dense.
  • I wasn't losing any weight until I started eating most of my exercise calories! After I started eating them, I lost about eight pounds!
  • This is perfect for my christmas presents.
  • So something weird is happening to me. Ever since Thanksgiving Day, I have been super sleepy. It doesn't matter if I sleep eight hours, by 3 pm I am tired again. Plus, I am eating everything I see! I haven't changed my diet, but I started running more than once a week. Anyone have a clue?
  • I think anyone who has kept up with the weight loss for over a year is an inspiration. That said Tami with her 128+ pounds lost is a huge inspiration. Plus, she puts great healthy recipes. :drinker:
  • Eat almonds! They have the good fats and no sugar or sodium(if you get the raw and unsalted ones). One ounce of almonds has about 160 calories!
  • Haha. I love it. I have never met someone so vindictive before! I thought it was horrible that Amy got kicked off last week. :explode:
  • I have five left, so I'll join!
  • 1. What is your goal? My ideal weight is 145. I have about 5 pounds to go. 2. How will you know when you get there? I know when the scale says so for about two weeks. 3. What will you do to celebrate? I am planning on buying those Manolos that I have been eyeing for about 3 years!
  • Well I've been reading James Galbraith's new book called "The Predator State: How Conservatives Abandoned the Free Market and Why Liberals Should Too". It's a great book about the market economy and it's failure in the US, but you probably don't want to read anything too school like. I suggest "100 years of solitude". Its…
  • I used to be just like you! Don't weigh yourself at night! Do it only in the morning and only once a week. It's hard but it makes your life better.
  • I've been here since April and I am down 11 pounds, but this morning was the first time I've been under 150! I've lost about 25 pounds since June 2007. :drinker: Yeah!!
  • Congratulations!! I finally broke my plateau on Friday. I lost 6/10 of a pound as well!
  • Yes, sodium makes a huge difference. I think if you are starting off, 2500 is a good goal. However, the Heart Association says that you diet should contain no more than 2000 mg of sodium.
  • How do I become a member of the runner's club. I just started running again and I would love the motivation!
  • Just becareful how much lunch meat, proccessed food or soups you consume. Those tend to have lots of sodium, which makes you retain water.
  • Well it depends on how much I work out. It varies between 1310 to 1750.
  • So I've hit the plateau head on. I've actually gain a pound since a I hit the plateau three weeks ago and I don't know what to do! I've started lifting weights and I have lost about an inch from hips and stomach, but the scale is going up. Any Advice?
  • I don't know, but I would like to find out. It's getting here and I'm thinking my weekend runs are no longer going to happen. Having a video that worked would allow me to keep working out.
  • I usually work out in the afternoon only once or twice a week, at different times, to shock the body. It definitely helps. It's supposedly really good for your metabolism to work out in the morning, but ONLY if you get the necessary six hours of sleep. I think it just depends on the person, but definitely mix it up!
  • I would also agree. For the first few months I was on this thing, I was eating only 1200 calories. Not only did I not lose weight, but I gained a few pounds. I added more calories(1340 on non-workout day) and I've lost 10 pounds since then.
  • I completely agree. It's not that hard to do and if you eat something regularly, you can save it as a meal. Plus logging before let's you know how much you have for the rest of the day and an idea of what you need to eat for your next meal. I love it!
