NPR Article on why it's so hard to keep the weight off
I was listening to NPR's Morning Edition and they had a story on weight loss and why people aren't able to keep the weight off. It discusses how the brain and its chemicals, when weight loss is achieved, panic because of the less calories. This causes your metabolism to slow down. It discuss how people who lose weight will…

Constantly Thirsty
Has anyone had a constant thirsty feeling? I've been drinking about 10+ cups of water every single day, but I am always thirsty and I wake up with a sore throat/dry mouth ever morning. Anyone know what's causing this? I am consuming a bit more sodium than usual, but nothing that would cause such a thirst. I've changed my…

Almost three years...
Almost three years ago (when I was turning 24), I was 165 pounds. For me, being 165 was a dream; I had been 180 about a year before that. However, I wasn't healthy. I hadn't put everything together. I didn't understand that eating only 1200 calories and exercising for two hours wasn't helping me at all. Then, I found this…

The new "Pyramid" nutritional value incorrect?
I am training, finally, for my first half marathon and I've been doing great with keeping with the work out schedule, but after having a discussion with my training partner, I feel like I may not be getting the right nutrition. I went to the USDA site to see what they recommend. First of all, they said I should eat 2200…

Travel for Work
When I was located in DC, my job rarely required me to travel. That allowed me to cook at home and have nice healthy meal where I know what I am consuming. Cardio Exercises for home?
Hey everyone, I live in DC and I've been snowed in for the past week. I've been able to watch what I eat and I've been doing some at home yoga/pilates, but I want some cardio. Anyone have any good exercise moves I could do from my living room? It looks like I'll be snowed in for two more days. I don't have a treadmill or…
