  • oh and I switch them from one pair of sneakers (I wear everywhere mostly) to others, I only bought 1 pair if you're concerned about price, that totally works for me. :)
  • Yeah, for me they do. For example, in my case, I had terrible arch pain. The ones with slightly higher heels and a strong arch support helped enormously. Have no more pain, and trying to work on the weight issue so I don't have to keep wearing them!
  • thank you! I'm trying - easy when it's the beginning though. Harder when you're 4 months in... :) Going to try to get there slowly this time so it stays put.
  • yeah def up a few pounds, every time. Usually pants that fit become unbearable and pants that are loose become tight. If I'm losing weight consistently, like 1#/ week, then I usually only gain 1-2 pounds during TOM. but it's still up :(
  • First, all of what the above commenter said is good. You will see a difference by adding more excercise to your day, yes. That's the whole idea behind things like fitbit, checking if you get enough excercise through the day, with just walking more, taking the stairs, taking an extra couple laps around your building at…
  • I give in. Eat and drink and enjoy myself at Thanksgiving / Xmas... just a couple days won't kill you. But the weeks between those dates, I hold myself to eating better/lower calories. I've also worked out every day since Nov 1 alternating between legs/arms/cardio so I don't work anything too hard, but still burn calories…
  • I'm terrible at working out when I'm away. But if you're determined, I'm sure you can do a fair amount of bodyweight excercises that will at least keep you from rolling too far backwards. Push-ups and Pull-ups are easily done just about anywhere, I used to do pull-ups using my fingers on the edges of door frames. You can…
  • I work freelance - so I oscillate between working for like 20 days in a row and not working for like 2-4 weeks at a time. I have no weekend pattern!
  • I got my fitbit one as a gift. I was pretty skeptical at first. I now strive to run stairs in my apartment as fast as possible, and I take extra walks at lunch - it seems to be helping just get some extra movement in for me. (I sit at a desk way too long every day, and often work very late) I would never have bought one…
  • fully agree with this. I had similar stressors all happen AT ONCE in my life... mom/grandmother/cat all died within a year, I moved multiple times, and I work freelance, so during all this I had to maintain a professional appearance somehow. I was an only child and my mom was a single mom so I got executrix of an estate…
  • Visual effects for film and tv.
  • I chuck 'em too. bye bye heart, liver, kidneys, whatever the hell.
  • I'm pretty sure if you have a horse inside, you're doing it wrong....
  • WOW wtf? She has that name; it's now taken. Get off your useless high horse about how other people should use the internet.
  • also you do NOT HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING AT ONCE! choose ONE thing to cut back on this week. Have 2 sodas a day instead of 5. Then next week cut back on eating out, by cooking 1 meal at home. the next week, cut back to 1 soda. the week after have one more home-cooked meal. if you try to "just be good " all at once, you'll…
  • I find that when you cut back on sweet things, you stop craving them. For example, I'm a cookie fiend. I don't have any cookies in the house right now, so when I have a craving, I CAN NOT have one. It's sometimes frustrating, but the cravings only last a few minutes these days!! you can do it.
  • I'm on about my 5th round of MFP - It works for a while (my best was like 100 days in a row maybe?) and then something happens (attending a wedding out-of-state, new job situations, whatever) and I fall off. I am doing really well 53 days in right now! If you notice, they added a "X day streak" in the home page, so you can…
  • Wow!! Great job!!! I see it most in your face and your torso, you're really showing those feminine curves! And you're gonna need smaller clothes :) Amazing transformation! I hope you keep it up until you reach your goal!!!
  • I love that you actually correctly spelled Brussels sprouts!!!
  • LOL yes. how many? probably fewer because the cats used to snuff 'em and leave them as presents for us to find :)
  • Saturday a.m. before I eat anything. It's a consistent day for me. I also measure that day. I have a chart going back months with my weights/measurements. sometimes there are a few blips but it helps me see (especially the measuring! I can not stress that enough!) my actual progress over time.
  • ^^ This. there's a thing called a personal best (PB) and runners are always looking to beat their PB. keep running, keep losing weight, you'll definitely keep slashing time off your 5k. keep doing that until you can't lose more weight/can't keep beating your best times ....then ask this again. :)
  • yep, this. depends on the guy. some guys look super hot with stubble, some guys its patchy and they look better clean shaven. if you want our preference on your personal face...post photos!
  • That's not what I said at all. I am saying you can't choose where it comes off. If your body likes keeping fat there, then you have to continue to lose body fat overall. That's the only thing you can do. So keep going!
  • It's ok there are a lot of jerks in the world, so it is here. There are also people who are unhelpful in the world here. Take it in stride, just drop it! So what the guy above is saying about squats is this: squats burn a **** ton of calories and create large groups of muscle. so not only are you burning calories when…
  • When I was single... -ok I'm not single, but honestly whose advice do you want, people who are happily in relationships for years? or people who can't quite stay in a relationship?- ...I would look for compatibility, intelligence, humor, willingness to do man things like kill spiders, good looks, strength, good at sex, and…
  • if you want to tuck in a shirt, by all means wear a button-down shirt. They look fab with a belt.
  • imho - only tuck in a tshirt if it's your under shirt. wearing a tshirt under a dress/other shirt? tuck in. wearing a tshirt on its own? no. but make sure it's properly fitting, and you should look fine. :) just google image search " man in a tshirt" if you don't believe me ;)
  • I doubt it too. Those numbers are off, often. When I have days like that I just read. And sit there for like 1:30, so at least I'm moving constantly for a while. definitely don't feel the same as if I did even a 20-minute HIIT / circuit training workout :)
