  • Troll post. Move on folks.
  • Something chocolately would be nice
  • Nottinghamshire, UK :)
  • Personally, I think the best way to start exercising is to start slow or less intense; something that makes you breathe heavier but not to the point where you can't keep it up for an extended period of time. Then try to work on the time you can keep that pace up for. You'll find the more you do it regularly, your stamina…
  • Unless it's a long vigorous cardio workout lasting for hours, I wouldn't say it's extremely important. I tend to only eat a couple of the belvita breakfast biscuits because I know I don't get hungry while running after I've ate them and they don't feel heavy on my stomach (I can digest them easily while working out without…
  • I don't really care about my weight. I don't use it as a sign of progress. I use a mirror / a tight-fitting t-shirt to gauge progress. Weight can fluctuate a lot throughout just 1 day so it isn't very reliable unless you're only doing it like once a month.
  • Run a half marathon before the end of the year.
  • I was 310 lbs at my biggest. I'm not exactly mr. slim at the moment but I know what it's like to be there. Making small but long-lasting changes can be the key to success for some people rather than forcing yourself to do something you don't like.
  • Normally, I eat breakfast when I wake up in the afternoon. Do some exercise. Eat dinner before work so I have energy through the night. Eat something for lunch at break time at work depending on how hungry I am and then maybe a snack before I go to sleep.
  • That's awesome man :) It's nice to hear a happy ending after a lot of hard work being put in. I do plan on keeping at it again.
  • Really? I thought you could tell someone was a runner because they were running. :D
  • In all honesty, I wouldn't give myself a time limit for any kind of gains. If you keep at it, you'll eventually see the results but it could take longer than you'd hoped for which might result in demotivation. Any kind of result should make you feel positive.
  • I never did C25K so I'm not sure what it consists of. I just kinda worked my way up to it with my own sort of training. Adding distance / speed after I felt like I'd gained the stamina to do so.
  • I guess it depends more on what you want to prioritise. If you do an hour of cardio before lifting weights, you'll have less energy for lifting heavier weights. And if you do strength training before cardio, you might feel more fatigued before you even start the cardio so you might not perform at as high of a rate.
  • There could be hundreds of reasons for you feeling tired. I feel tired on some days because of the weather, maybe I didn't sleep as well on the night before. Could be slight dehydration, maybe I didn't eat enough the day before or ate too much. Like I said, it's kinda hard to tell. Sometimes, I just have days where I feel…
  • As far as I remember, there weren't really any rules with food. I didn't know what was too much. My mum didn't cook an awful lot so we had takeaway maybe 3-4 times a week. I have a really bad sweet tooth and would spend all my pocket money on sweets. I was always fat as a kid from like 8+ years and I'm still pretty fat. I…
  • Thanks :) Great job on the PB
  • Half way through the month and I wake up with a cold today. I was gonna skip my run today but I decided to just do it but take it easy and slower than usual. What I noticed though was at the end of it, I wasn't even breathing very heavy or feeling very tired at all. I'm hoping to eventually run a half marathon, even if it…
  • Change of clothes, towel to dry yourself off, antiperspirant deodorant and maybe some perfume. I guess it would depend how badly you sweat and how intensely you work out.
  • It's happened to me before. People seem to think that because I'm overweight, they can make fun of me for wanting to run. It's pretty demotivating so I tend to just stick to the treadmill.
  • Whatever time best fits into your daily routine.
  • Put me down for 60 miles :) I only set myself a goal of 30 miles last month so lets see how I get on. 1/7 - 0 2/7 - 5 Total: 5 miles
  • Last day of the month ^^ Here's how I did for the last week or so. 21/6 - 0.75 I bought some new shoes and didn't have long to try them out 22/6 - 0 23/6 - 6.2 24/6 - 0 25/6 - 3.1 26/6 - 0 27/6 - 4 28/6 - 4 29/6 - 0 30/6 - 4 Total miles this month: 57.8 :) I only put myself down for 30 miles this month because I wasn't…
  • Here's a calculator that you can use to work out speed and time based on the pace it gives you. coolrunning.com/engine/4/4_1/96.shtml
  • What exercise were you doing? How intense was the workout? Did you feel light-headed or nauseous? How long have you been exercising for? At the moment, it sounds like hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) which happens when your glycogen stores in your muscles are depleted and your body runs out of "fuel" to effectively work out…
  • Best way to build muscle would be to look at a weight lifting program that will take you through nutrition as well. Lower carbs might work if you're trying to lose weight or have a blood sugar issue. But the best way to gain muscle is to eat at maintenance or at a surplus (making sure to hit your protein macro) and follow…
  • Wow. It's already been 3 weeks into June. Who's looking forward to dying while running in the summer heat? XD 14/6 - 0 15/6 - 0 woke up too late and had to go to work :( 16/6 - 3.1 17/6 - 0 18/6 - 4 19/6 - 0 20/6 - 4 Total this month so far = 35.8 miles Yay  At least I managed to hit my goal for my first month…
  • I eat too much and move too little. I became overweight when I was just a kid and never really got to a healthy weight. My parents never really controlled what I ate so I never really learned portion sizes or just how many calories were in all the snacks I'd have during the day. I was 310 lbs at my heaviest and I got…
  • Will do
