There have been a few occasions where I have come from swimming and sit in the locker room and eat some chocolate trail mix or a candy bar. Why? Because I am Diabetic. Don't judge unless you know for sure someone's circumstances. You could end up looking like an *kitten*.

People keep adding me. I think they think I'm supportive and 'up beat'. This tends to happen after a blog of mine gets posted. Then they are suckered into my tough love approach and 'fatty' manifestos! Bwuahahahaa. Seriously though. I have over 90 friends. I check daily for those who have not logged in for more than two…

I'm going to try out some meal supplement shakes. Specifically the Atkins one. They have 4 g of carbs, 1 g of sugar and 9 g of fat. I am not too worried about the fat. I just want a nutritional something in between meals at work. Something that won't raise my bg but will keep me from crashing. I was going to try Glucerna.…

How is everyone doing today? Did the weekend throw your numbers out of whack? Or are you sticking to your tracks? I snuck in a swimming session at 1am last night. I just HAD to get my swim in! Gonna head to work tonight to the bowling alley. Packing my lunch in. And then after gonna hit the swimming pool at the gym for a…

I have it set for 1 pound a week at 1560 calories. I am Diabetic and it would be harder for me to be at 1200 calories with the snacks I eat. I would end up crashing at night. Though I tend to do fine at the 1300 cal mark.

I agree with the OP. I too could care less about the need for attention people have via posting rants about other people's struggles.

The last two posts were both equally correct. In the end use your meter. It tells YOU what works for YOU. I can do like the above mentioned post about 45 carbs per meal (depending on the type of carb) and be ok. Any more than that, and it's hard for me to not get a high sugar read. I also try to snack low carb snacks like…

I don't want any more complications from my Diabetes. I already had a heart attack at 36. That was enough for me, spank you berry much!

Oh man I've been there. I am Diabetic and am really cracking down on not eating anything at work (bowling alley) Bowlers give us homemade goodies all the time. I just say no thank you. Some of my friends like to start explaining why they are eating the junk they eat. And I'm like nooo, it's ok! I'll be alive while you all…

Yeah, that's true. But so are her wrists bones bigger then her hands. Her face looks extremely thin as well. Then again, like I said, she could be a smaller gal and this is totally normal. I just see what my eyes see.

I took a look at your pics. Specifically the one in the bikini in color. Same as the black and white, except I can see your ribs. I am assuming you are a shorter gal, right? I'll be honest. You look extremely thin.

They have 21 grams of fat. I'd get rid of those asap. Your best bet will be to get to see a Diabetic nutritionist. All of us are going to just end up overwhelming you with information. I took it upon myself to figure the diet stuff out. Took me a good 3 weeks of panicking before I found a good moderate plan. I went to D…

EDIT. I tried adding an image via code and html and no code *sits in the dummy seat in the corner:blushing:

I'm sure Spain isn't a backward country! Try going to the internet cafe. And if it's a matter of being out in the boonies of Olive grove..take an actual notebook. Something to show your accountability to.Oh, and HAVE FUN!

I'll be honest. I NEVER like the options on those 'fit calories' menus at restaurants. I don't want to eat rice and lettuce. Or some steamed veggies. Defeats the very purpose of me going out..to splurge. I've learned the easiest option for me it so just split a lunch with my friend right down the middle. Cuts the calories…

http://www.dlife.com/diabetes/diabetic-recipes/Bolognese-Sauce/r8514.html It's a Diabetic friendly sauce with only 92.8 calories and 4 g of fat. Check it out!

Thanks. I did some research and found some women had trouble with the chest strap. I am a 42D. I feel it might fit weird. Or do I...put it under my tatas? I might just end up saving for a good one in the end.

Oh yeah, I agree. I also realized now that I have tight control over my sugar levels, I was taking my Glipizide wrong! I hadn't been taking it 30 minutes before my meal AND I had, on occasion, taken it with my last meal (a real no no). I'm gonna make an appt to get to see him. I did get through the night fine. Didn't crash…

OMG That's awesome! *and cheap I might add! Hmm. Tool. Tool. Tool...... I'll be honest. It's my blood glucose meter. When I see a low number pop up I don't want to ruin it by eating junk. I feel like the meter will find out! And glare at me or something. I guess I use it as a game to beat. I know. It's totally odd. But…

I gave up the following (and have in very low moderation. Maybe once a month?) FAST FOOD! Specifically french fries. Mind you I am Diabetic. Subway. Only when I really can afford those carbs. Though I do my own scooping) Seriously. They are just not good for you, no matter what Jared says. Junk food. sandwiches of all kind…

I had no idea how relevant this post would actually be for me. Tomorrow I am meeting a friend at BJ's Brewery and have been trying to figure out what to eat that I would like. I think I'm going with the personal veggy pizza and iced tea! And I am adding jalapenos so I will be full of spice and not want to eat more than…

Well I hopefully have gotten over the weekend of hypoglycemia. Was pretty bad. I had lows of the 45s and was scared I was going to have to go to the hospital. I got back on track today with my small low carb snacks and that seemed to help. I was able to get in 30 minutes of swim after work. Couldn't do the full hour as…

Also try to see if you can do a mini one with a side salad and low fat dressing. Something to feel you up with less pizza!

Well if you are Kate Moss the answer is heroin. She probably likes that more than anything.

I manually enter my calories burned to that of half the suggested. I think I was overestimating my calories burned and in the end eating way more than I was burning. I enter 300 calories. So if I am under then I am still at 1200. And if I am over, it's only by 300. And either way I still end up around my normal 1500…

Oh forgot. If you have a Hispanic market, try going there for fruit and veggies. They always have alot of choices and dirt cheap.

I eat at home every single night. I shop and get all my healthy foods at Walmart of all places. I make sure I eat the correct portions. This will make sure you food stretches as far as possible. And I make sure my food does double duty. I buy veggies for my pizza and for my omlettes. I buy tortillas for my chicken and my…

I had planned to buy one and decided not to. I only weigh myself at the gym once a week and no more. This forces me to get to that gym on Monday when I'm tired from the long weekend work week. And I don't obsess over it.
