congrats caili on running the 4K! That is awesome. I am not sure what to say about the two ladies that seemed determined to stay two steps ahead but hey whatever works for them. I walked a 5K with a friend last year and we had some people who said they were using us as their pacers so they would run ahead and then walk…

Sorry jo. It can be hard with in-laws. Best of luck getting through the week with your sanity intact.

ftr--Currently I am working on a treadmill because the gym has childcare which is awesome. Given the opportunity though, I prefer running outside. And I agree when I have run outside I don't clock watch nearly as much. Congrats upsaluki! That is an awesome time!

I completed W2D1 today. I couldn't believe how much harder that extra 30 seconds made it. At the 10 minute mark I thought I was going to have to stop early and try again another day. But slowly I found the time passing and once I got to the last 10 minutes I wasn't willing to give up until the end. The cool down felt like…

This has been the best thing for me as well. I used to feel like I was wasting time exercising because my mind wasn't occupied (yes, I admit I am a nerd). Once I started with audiobooks, I love going to the gym. It is my "me" time to "read." But admittedly the one down side is when I was listening to Janet Evanovich, I…

Happy Friday everyone! I am at the halfway point in stage 1. It is really hard to believe that I am doing things like squats with 70 lbs. Before reading this book, I would have been doing body weight squats forever and convinced that was all I could do. Ali--good luck with the birthday parties. My niece ended up having two…

Thanks sue and Jo! It makes a lot of sense that they'd want to promote the newest one as the best to encourage previous readers to buy another book. I am still on stage one and loving it. Sue-- I went to the website for the grips (I think I know what I'm going to ask for for Christmas!) but I had to laugh at the…

Congrats dna! I have a newbie question--I decided to check supercharged out from the library, just to see what it is all about. However as I start reading it, I am wondering if I should switch over rather than starting NROL4W. He makes it almost sound like the older books are out of date already? Has anyone else felt like…

I have been lurking for a while, but I started NROL4W a couple weeks ago. I have been really focusing on getting used to Stage 1 Workouts A and B. This week, I finally moved from the first step (2 sets of 15) to the next step. I deadlifted 60 pounds! And I did the lunges with the 45 pound bar (don't know what it is really…

I am a single mom who works full time and goes to school. I would love to have more like-minded friends. :)

I love having something like this as a goal. Congrats on a job well done. Those pictures are phenomenal!!

Do you mind sharing the brand name of the dressing you are talking about? My daughter currently loves ranch and I would love to see if I can find a better option for her.

Most of the time I bring leftovers from the dinner the night before. To help me in the morning, I pack most of the lunch the evening before as I put dinner away so in the morning all I need to do is put it into my lunch box. I try to prep ahead with as much as I can. For instance, when I bought a big container of almonds,…

Leslie Sansone has some walk videos that I used when I was first getting started with fitness (borrowed from library). Awesome workout. And I know there are people who have used them for significant weight loss.

I don't know what it's called, but is it possible that one of your legs is slightly shorter than the other? I have had friends that had that issue.

Restarted C25K today. I have done through week 3 about 4X over the last year but then something comes up and I stop. But I am hoping to get through this time. The run today felt really good.

My plan had been to start on March 1, but that didn't happen so I did Day 1 today. It felt pretty good to do 20 secs but I am most excited to see progress as planks are something I have always wanted to do well.

Please sign me up for this challenge. I will also look for the other group that you mentioned in the group intro. :-)

I usually weigh in on Monday mornings but after reading some of the replies here, I may change to Wednesday. :-). I always weight in the morning before breakfast. :-)

Is this what you all are talking about: http://blogilates.zippykid.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Beginners-calendar-new.jpg I have never heard of Blogilates or Pop Pilates but I love the idea of a challenge! And as I talked to my friend who kicks my booty whenever we do core work together, she says its because…

You can usually find a pedometer reasonably priced. From my personal experience, I have walked a lot more when I had one on (I don't know why--maybe because it gave me a goal to reach and that was incentive enough?). That would be my recommendation. Or if you have a smart phone, I am falling in love with the map my walk…

How long have you been on this plan? Also, are you feeling challenged by the routine(s) you are doing? I know that I used to have a routine and I thought I was challenging myself, but I started working out with a friend at work who is a self-proclaimed gym rat. He pushed me to up my weight and challenge myself more. Not to…

Ouch that is the meanest thing I have heard of. Sorry. Can you workout when he is not there? Or in another room?
