Actually, only eating the amount of calories below the amount you expend is all you need. Exercise is not necessary for weight loss.
-
Are you using a scale? I've also notice that you've just joined MFP today. Where have you been logging your food?
-
I don't use my own pic because I am not photogenic and every pic taken of me looks like a melting Picasso painting. It makes me sad. I'm much better in real life.
-
Well, this fell apart quickly.
-
No. Sorry to disappoint you but there is no such thing as a "starvation mode". You would be dying then. You are not losing weight because you are eating more than you think you are.
-
I really hate to say it but if you're not measuring what you're taking in, you really don't know how much it is. The scales are only $10-15. I believe you'd be surprised at the inaccuracy of your logging by eyeballing. Also, maybe try baby steps. You've quit smoking and started eating better. Maybe just ride that wave for…

Are you using a digital scale to measure every bit of food that you're eating? Also, unless you're extremely petite or extremely elderly, you shouldn't be going under 1,200 calories a day. This is to ensure you're getting a balanced amount of nutrient.
-
It's how much you want to eat at that moment. Just weigh it and log it accurately.

Building muscle is achieved by eating in a surplus while lifting on a progressive program. Eating in a surplus can be chicken breast, broccoli, rice, pizza, burgers or chocolate.....as long as it's a surplus. Please stop with the "junk" or "clean" food. It's just food.
-
Please do not give erroneous advice. As long as a person is in a deficit, weight will be lost.
-
No. One of the biggest problems is LABELING food as good/clean or bad/dirty. There is no such thing or, I should say, a decent definition of those labels. I have lost 60 pounds eating what I wanted, just not as MUCH as I wanted. I am not a special snowflake.
-
No. All you need to do is eat less calories than your body expends. CICO. That's all. Nothing more.
-
Honestly, you don't have to DO anything. Entering you intake into the food log will give you definite answers. Weight and measuring your food will take the mystery out of calories and quantities. I've actually seen a theme with mine. For example, I realize I seem to be extremely hungry on Thursdays. I've noticed that by…

This is actually a school assignment, not a real life scenario. Regardless I love the concept of collaboration. In fact, I used to "meal share" with a friend. I would be tired of a big vat of split pea soup so I would split with a friend. She'd do the same when making bread.

You've only been logging for 3-4 days and you're not weighing everything. According to your food log you've been eating 100 grams of beans every day. Exactly 100 gram? Every day? Seems suspect. It's not the carbs that make you gain weight, it's the calories.....which you are not eating enough of. Stop the tea and eat a…

Honestly, you never truly know how much you're eating if it isn't measured. Many of us are not good with estimating the amounts we're putting into our mouths. Please take a moment out and buy a digital scale at Walmart, Amazon, or where ever you like to shop. They generally cost only $10-15 so they are pretty reasonable.…

Are you weighing your food with a scale using grams?
-
@robert2339 I completely understand about avoiding not exercising and avoiding getting discouraged but please explain why anyone would avoid soda, foods high in fat, fast foods, fried foods, bread, and frozen meals.
-
So much what @usmcmp said. I've been exactly where you're at, @libramoon140. Put a smile on your face and remember you ARE worth it!! And start slow, take baby steps, start a new routine....something that you like and look forward to. We all had to start somewhere.
-
Yes. As long as you are within your calorie limits, you will lose weight. It has nothing to do with carbs. Or fats. Just enter your stats into MFP and eat the calories it tells you to eat.
-
How are you measuring? With measuring cups and spoons? Or with a scale?
-
It is bothering you more than it should have. Just think of it as something you're not going to do again especially since you've realized you didn't like it as much as you would have thought. Now, if you truly enjoyed it.....I would say to somehow fit this in as a treat now and then. It's only one day and one moment. Move…

The reason why I was asking is because the macro that is fat can be quite satisfying and our body needs fat. Please do not eliminate or go too low. The first step is to enter everything into MFP answering all of the criteria. Try not to be too aggressive with the weight loss. Do not eliminate too many of the foods you…

May I ask WHY you've decided to go low fat?
-
Maybe I was dreaming it. Thanks for the correction. My short term memory is.....wait....what was I saying?
-
The title of the posting changed from 700 calories to 1,200 calories. OP, did you decided to up your daily calorie allotment?
-
I'm current doing my prep for the week. This week it is a egg bake casserole which is like a crustless quiche. It's with broccoli, ham, and mozzarella. Along in the oven is a sweet potato in which I'm going to use some left over chili over it. I also got a bunch of chicken on sale so I split it. Half of it went into the…

I have been having the same problem all day but it just started syncing about 5 minutes ago.
-
Oh! I know exactly what you're saying! I guess I was trying to mention to the OP that the selections may not be accurate as the carbs/proteins were off, as in zero, for a chicken and bean dish. And there were a number of entries with zero sodium. With that, the calories may not be accurate. Looked a bit suspect and there…

For one of your meals you have Mexican style chicken and bean with no carb or no protein? Also, many of your items have next to no sodium? I'm thinking you may want to double check to see if you're selecting the correct items.
