  • Hey, good for those people who can eat mindfully and not have to track. I would dare say if most of us were like that, we wouldn't be here. It's easier to write something like that than it is to live it. I do agree that some people get too aggressive with their weekly weight loss goals and expect too much in a very short…
  • Wow, that's a win-win if it's covered by work! I'm not going to be comfortable there if it's just a bunch of rich people flaunting their expensive gym clothes. The tour will be interesting, though! I'll report back about it when I get around to going.
  • I'm not sure I'd have the time to enjoy all the amenities, either! I know I'd be spending some time in the eucalyptus steam room, though! I priced out a membership and it's $120 for a single person. $180 for a couple. My husband is definitely not interested lol. Im thinking of going and taking a tour, just to see what it's…
  • Try setting a small weekly loss goal like .5 pounds per week. Then, you get to eat more and you're more likely to stick to it!
  • I don't have one of those, but it sounds interesting! I do have a ninja smoothie maker, but I prefer slushes. My favorite is cherry limeade. Frozen cherries, sprite, lime juice, ice, and a squirt of stevia liquid. I have thought about freezing a slush in a container to see if it makes kind of a sorbet.
  • You have such a great attitude, and with your sis to lean on, I'm confident that you'll do this better than you ever have before!
  • Oh, and if you want to eat more calories a nice side salad goes well with it!
  • I always try to keep something around that's easy for dinner. I'm not sure how many calories you normally have for dinner, but it might be easier for me since I save a lot of calories for dinner. Have you ever made pizza out of pita bread? That's pretty easy. I use pita bread as the crust, classico pizza sauce, 1.5…
  • Your post sounds like you're excited about starting your journey! It always starts like that. I wish we could all take that enthusiasm we start with and bottle it up. Then when it wears off, we could open it and take a drink! Unfortunately as you know, it becomes monotonous and sometimes even unsustainable if we deprive…
  • The orange one is Colby and the gray one is Alvin. They aren't brothers, but they might as well be. They were adopted together and have been together since they were tiny. They just turned 11 in the spring.

  • I'm happy that I cooked a pack of 6 chicken breasts yesterday! I still have to do something with them at meals, but I won't have to heat up the house with the oven on!
  • I think just like most people, patience is the hardest part for me. I want to do slow, steady loss because I want to eat more. I still want to see fast results, though.
  • Click on the person's name, a box will pop up with the person's name, then click on their name again. That will take you to the page to do a friend request. If you're on the web version, it will take you to a page to download the app, but you can bypass that.
  • I don't know if you guys have Lifetime Fitness where you are, but I have one less than a mile away from me. I'd love to join that gym! They have so many amenities and classes and perks. You could probably spend all day there. But a membership is almost $150 per month! I could swing it, but that's just way too much!
  • That's really great to know that there are some good beginner videos out there! Maybe I'll try it as soon as I get the room cleared out enough that I have some floor space. It seems like I'm always stiff and kinked up. Especially my back and shoulders. I've started up massages again, after not having any during covid.…
  • I have a stationary recumbent bike, and riding it is really the only exercise I've never hated. I played tennis in high school, but I'm not sure I could do it anymore. I used to play golf, but that's really not much exercise, and it's the most frustrating game in the world. I value my mental health too much to take it up…
  • Mari, I haven't seen Akhob. I do know of it because in the Las Vegas forums ppl write trip reports and a few years ago I read about it. The person that wrote about it really enjoyed the experience!
  • Hello, I'm Skyler. I live in the Dallas area. Married 27 years with no kids and two cats. I'm a hairstylist and I work 4 days a week. I love to play slots and most of my vacations are to Las Vegas. I go about 4 times a year. Because our cats have some health problems, we can't leave them. My husband and I have to take…
  • You'll get into the groove and learn the things that work best for you. It's just your first day, don't be hard on yourself.
  • I've lost the same 15 or 20 pounds so many times throughout my life. I'm tired of doing it. I can't starve myself to lose it anymore. I figure I can still have most of the things I like and still lose weight if I pay attention to quantity. So, this time I'm going slow. I've been at it since January and only lost 5 pounds,…
  • I log every day and have an open diary. Take a look! You could start a new thread and ask people to post if they have an open diary. Also, when you friend people, some have their diaries open to only thief friends.
  • I'm so sorry for your loss. That's a lot to go through in a short time. I hope you continue to heal while working on your goals. Good luck!
  • Hi there, are you using a food scale to weigh everything you eat? If you're just estimating, it's difficult to be accurate.
  • It's really difficult to be accurate with calorie counting unless you're weighing your food. Then you'll know exactly how much you're eating. Some people don't like doing it, but I find it comforting to be able to be so exact. There are lots of videos that show how to use one correctly, and it's really easy once you get…
  • Welcome!

  • Just know that if you're just starting out building your frequent foods list, yeah, it's a PIA. Most people use pretty much the same foods over and over, so once you have that list built you might have to add in something new once in a while, but it becomes much easier when you can just check a box and maybe change the…
  • It works! Good luck with your goals!
  • The key for me has also been to have things I like to eat, but try to find lower cal ways to make them. I have an open diary if you'd like to take a peek. I'm sure there are others that do too. I think that would help you to see meals that maybe you wouldn't have thought of.
  • Hey, I'm usually kind of a loner too. Been on this site off and on for years. It's always helped me lose, but this time I decided to be more active and try to cultivate some friendships on here. It really does help to have a kind word when you want to eat everything sometimes.

  • That's great! The first step to getting where you want to go is to know where you are. Good luck in your journey!
