If the trainer is not replying to your messages, then I would have NO problem dropping him and seeing a new trainer! If he approaches you about it, I would honestly tell him that you tried contacting him several times and didn't hear back. I am sure trainers are very used to people leaving and moving around. Good luck!

That is a really good point! I do find that I don't have the night time cravings as much when I eat a big dinner later in the evening.

I am right there with you!!! I eat perfect all day but it's those few hours after dinner and before bed that kill me. I don't know why this happens - I too just want to eat, eat, eat during these hours -- and I too want the sweets. What I've been doing is eater lighter during the day and saving about 200-300 calories for…

Wow!!!! It's interesting to read everyone's binges! Makes me feel normal and...that my binges aren't really so bad as some others are!! LOL! My worst has been: 1 whole medium size cheese pizza and 1 whole bag of Smart Food cheese popcorn all in one night -- thousands of calories -- and a very sick stomach!! But it was…

Hi there! I am also short on time many mornings. In my freezer, I have individual bags of frozen fruits that I've put together to make making smoothies quicker. Each bag is full of: 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/4 cup strawberries, 1/2 cup spinach and 1/2 banana (you can use your own favorite fruits) - then I mix in 1 scoop of…

I love olive oil especially for it's health benefits and healthy fats...but I only use 1 tsp at a time. 1 tsp is around 33-39 calories. I put 1 tsp on my salad for lunch - then another tsp on my chicken at dinner. If you spread out that 1 TBSP throughout the day, it's not so bad :) I just cut short in other areas to make…

You are working out a lot - I bet you need more calories than 1200. Especially if you don't have much weight to lose. You should be eating the calories you burn if you aren't already doing so. I also wasn't losing weight at 1200 calories ( and I was exercising 5 times/week) so I changed my weekly goal to 1lb/week (1760…

I also exercise early morning. I don't eat unless I am doing a big workout (like running 4+ miles). Then I usually eat half a banana with about 1/2 TBSP of peanut butter. Or I will drink a cup of coconut water and 1 TBSP peanut butter. Good luck - try it out and see what feels best for you :)

Ohhhh yes, I think it's harder than losing weight. I have lost the same 10lbs about 3-4 times now! My problem is that once I lose the weight, I think that I can eat whatever I want. I reward myself with food! I am finally realizing that I need to continue to count my calories during maintenance and not go crazy! Good luck…

LOL!!!! Good question - I have never soaked Chia seeds - didn't know you were supposed to? I just put them in straight from the bag.

Oops, guess I am dying young then

I also get incredibly hungry for a few days about one week before I get my period. I always know it's coming when I go through these times where I feel like the hunger never goes away! I TRY not to give in but usually do end up eating alot more during these days. The good thing is I always know my hunger goes back to…

I'm sorry you are feeling this way. Just know that many of us feel this way every once in a while. I too, overanalyze my body and have a very negative self image. It's not good!!! But I know it's hard to break the habit of looking down on yourself. What is is that you dislike? The ONLY thing that helps me feel better is…

My friends tease me too when I eat healthy foods (they order junk). It's just funny that healthier foods are viewed as being "weird". In my circle, it's expected to order fried and junky foods when going out so eating a salad is crazy. But I don't take it as my friends bullying me or being mean - they just genuinely find…

I noticed that too -- Lost It gives me 1811 calorie goal and MFP is 1760. Not a huge difference - I am guessing they just use different calculations. One thing I notice is that Lose it doesn't ask my daily activity level - maybe that has something to do with the difference. To Ready2Rock: "Lost it" also allows you to eat…

Hi, congrats on your weight loss! I know how you feel - I always get worried and stressed about gaining my weight back. 1650 calories is still pretty low so I don't think you will gain any weight at that number. Is that the number that MFP gave you for maintenance? If so, then stick with that and I'm sure you will maintain…

I have done research on Carrageenan before and decided to cut back on it but I don't completely avoid it either. The most negative thing I read about it is that it's found to be an intestinal irritant and can cause inflammation in that area. I have personally never experienced any stomach issues after consuming it but some…

I mix my whey protein with water because 1) the powder is already made of milk and flavored and 2) I don't want to add more calories. If you are concerned with calories then definitely use water - if you actually WANT to add calories, fat or more protein OR if you want more flavor then use milk. The whey protein I use…

I know, it was confusing to me at first too. If MFP tells you that you need to eat 1200 calories to lose 2lbs per day - then you need to end the day at 1200 calories, period. If you eat 1200 calories but then exercise and burn 300 calories - then you are essentially down to 900 calories. But you need to be at 1200 so I…

Yeah, granola is sooo good and goes so well with yogurt and fruit - but yes, so high in calories! You could just use a small amount of granola to get a little flavor and crunch - maybe a 1/4 cup? I don't eat much cereal but I do like the Kashi GoLean cereals because they are higher in protein and pretty low in calories…

Be careful not to drink TOO much water which can lead to "water poisoning". Is there any reason you should be thirstier than normal? Medication, upped your exercise, extra caffeine or alcohol, temperature change, dry weather, change in foods you eat, illness? Maybe try drinking something other than water so see if that…

I think both quinoa and almond butter are relatively "new" to the health food scene - meaning that they have received a lot of attention in the past few years. That might be part of why you see it used so much now. But quinoa and almond butter do both offer higher nutrients than brown rice and peanut butter. For example,…

Same here - I spend about $200-250/week for our family of 4. I buy mostly organic and natural foods, high quality meats, etc. Though I wish the costs were lower, I think the quality of our food is so important and worth it - so I try to cut costs in other parts of our lives so that I can afford the better food. Is there…

Hi there! I used to do cross fit classes but recently quit to save money and continue to workout at home with weights. I LOVE my kettlebell and recommend one just so you can add variety to your workouts. I bought mine for fairly cheap on Amazon.com (the cheapest iron bell) - it's 25lb. I also have a medicine ball (10lb)…

I definitely notice this for me too. I don't always notice it in my workouts but I definitely notice it in how I feel overall and in how my clothes fit. You think we'd learn our lesson and stop eating junk - but the cycle continues ;)

I absolutely believe age is a factor!! For me atleast. I am 35 years old (and have two kids) and I am about 15lbs heavier than I was in college. I have been working out way harder and eating way better than I did in colllege and I just CANNOT get back to that weight!! I used to be able to eat anything and not gain weight…

Hi there! I definitely think you can lose weight without eating low carb. As long as you remain within your calorie limit, you will lose. I have also tried low carb diets -- and I too have gained it all back once I ate normal again. Low Carb is not for me either. I have cut back though but just for the sake of saving…

Hi! White beans, avocados and potatoes are also high in potassium. As well as coconut water. :)
-
I love coconut water too! I drink about 8oz after long runs because of it's electrolytes....and the little sugar gives me some energy back. Many claim it to be a "health food". I think it's a great alternative to sports drinks, sodas and juices!

I've been a runner for 20+ years and that pace and distance will definitely get you a big burn. Good job! I personally don't split my calories and instead eat them the same day. I find that gives me more motivation to exercise daily. But if it helps you, then definitely split it up as you'd like.
