When I was younger, I found it hard to keep weight on. I worked in a hospital and one day a very over weight doctor stopped me in the corridor and said " aren't you skinny, don't you eat? That's not healthy" before I could reply, she was off. Just as well. Now, if I had said to her "aren't you fat?" She would be outraged.

I'm 66 and have never eaten fruit. I don't like the smell of it! Odd, I know. But I'm fit, healthy and strong and never been ill in my life. So, don't eat what you don't like.

ah, always wondered what Hersheys's were.

Yuck!

We generally use scales to weigh our food here.

Name and shame, I always find this works with sneaky people who hide behind annonymity. Even snide remarks face to face, a loud response usually sends them scurrying off. Don't let the bxxxxxxs get you down.

I kept to 1200 cals reccomended, put on 3 pounds. Also found it hard to eat so much. So now eat what I've always eaten, but less of it. I slice of bread instead of 2, substitute marmite on toast instead of butter, eat half a ready meal. Think about what you eat. My scales don't move much but my clothes feel much looser,…

like your attitude, sounds like me.

Sorry, didn't realise you bought it unpopped. Ours comes already popped, usually coated in sugar.

Go to home page, click on food, decide which meal to add it to, click on add food and then just type in as much info as possible. Brand name, size of packet, (in grams) then click add to food. Then when you have the whole packet size, divide by portion size and it should then tell you how many calories in a portion and in…

I used to be a nice, neat 34c. Am now a 39dd. And I hate then! They're painful, I can't see my feet and keep tripping over the dog 'cos I don't see her. Can't find a comfy bra that fits, and they make me look bigger than I am. Roll on the weight loss, it can all go! Ironically, when I was younger and slimmer, I yearned for…

Try Hello Healthy on the right hand side of the home page. Luscious recipes there.

April; If "- 500 from your TDEE...." and the ever present "a cal is a cal..." dogma really was that simple wouldn't EVERYBODY find weight loss a simple process and we'd ALL be slim, trim, and beautiful? [/quote] what is TDEE please? They all would be slim, trim, and beautiful if they ate -500 from TDEE but people don't do…

Hi foodie, thank you for your offer. I like casseroles, salads, pasta, rice dishes. Pretty much anything except spicy curry foods. Not a great cook tho!

Perhaps a visit to the doctors to find out the cause of the pain?

Hi, I stuck rigidly to my calorie allowance, usually coming in 300 or so cals a day under, for 5 long weeks, no weight loss. Was on the verge of giving up, when I got on the scales after 2 more weeks and found 2lb gone. Then another 2 weeks another 2lb gone. Motivated now and taking this more seriously. I think the 1200…

I really don't know. Maybe try other wheat products and see if you get a reaction. As someone else said, try eating them separately. Give up on the pasta:) try wholemeal pasta. You have almost certainly an intolerance to one or the other. Maybe pesticides from the wheat again.
-
Hi Sharon, only a suggestion, but do you wash/peel your fruit? Pesticides they are sprayed with can cause problems. The hives sound very much like a reaction to wheat, pasta? Regards Jazz

Wow. I am sooo impressed seeing what you all eat and still lose weight. Having just restarted I was thinking lettice leaves and green tea and was not feeling inspired. Being English, I don't always know what some of the ingredients are, but sweet potatoes seem to be a favourate, so will give them a try. Thank you all for…

Boiled sweets- It's an english thing. Basically any individual sweet made from boiled sugar with flavouring added. E. G. Barley sugar, bulls eyes, mints, sherbuts. Pure sugar, so probably best avoided, but if you can stop at 1 or 2, good for a sugar fix as very hard and take a long time to dissolve if sucked slowly.…

After 40 odd years of "dieting" e.g following low calorie recipes, cutting out fat, sugar, joining various slimming clubs, all sort of worked for a while, then I got bored weighing everything. Then I had an eureka moment. Eat less. Sounds obvious, but as a ready meal junkie, too lazy to cook, I would bung a ready meal in…
