  • I am so sorry to hear of your injury! It is my biggest fear that I injure myself, so I can only imagine what you are going through! You mentioned your back was the issue...can you do free weights with your arms while sitting? This way, you are not putting extra strain on your lower back. You could do shoulder flie(or is it…
  • A heart rate monitor is the best way. It measures your calorie burn based on your weight, age and intensity level. When you see the MFP calories, you have no idea who posted that. They could be twice your age and twice your weight, hence, the calories they burned would be nothing near what you would have burned doing the…
  • TOO FUNNY! Love this post!
  • A HRM is truly a individual gage of your intensity. You will notice that doing a specific workout that your calories burned may be different from day to day. It depends on your intensity of the workout. I would definitely use my HRM over the calories listed in MFP because, as others have said, it depends on not only the…
  • Careful with that stuff...have you read the ingredients? It contains propylene glycol.....antifreeze! Granted, you really only add a few drops, but I would use with caution.

  • If you have missed your cycle on top of all these other symptoms, I would go see your doctor. I have seen that show "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" and all of those woman failed pregnancy tests. See a professtional for your health, and for the baby's health, if you are indeed pregnanat.
  • Great question...I have the same problem! I just don't drink enough water!
  • Heart rate monitor is the best way. By using one, it will tally the number of calories you burned based on your effort for that particular workout. Calories burned will vary from person to person for it depends on age, weight and effort. It is a good investment...mine broke a little while ago and I kept looking at my wrist…
  • Welcome! Best of luck to you on your journey! The first thing you need is a plan...do you have one in mind?

  • Great stories! Loved your post! So...will there be another "hanging out" event in the near future?
  • I would have to say my arms.
  • I also HIGHLY recommend the P90X Results and Recovery Formula! It helps with soreness after the workouts! Love that stuff!
  • You want to follow 20% Fat / 40% Carbs / 40% Protein with P90X. WIth MFP, you can adjust your percentages for this and it will tell you how many grams you can eat based on your calories.
  • My children being "soooo sleepy"! LOL
  • Send me a friend request also, but before doing so, you need to eliminate the word "diet" from your vocabulary...if you are going to lose weight and become healthy, it is not a diet...it is a lifestyle change. Dieting is why so many people yo-yo their weight. Change your mentality and you will be successful!
  • I am in complete agreement with engineman312!
  • This site definitely helps in planning your meals for the day. I love it! Best of luck to you!
  • Awesome post to read! Great job!
  • I agree with the folks that say to incorporate strenght training...muscle burns fat! Go with a weight that will allow you to do 12-15 reps. If you chose a weight that you can't get to 12 reps, then lighten your load. Do just the opposite if you find you can easily get to 15 reps. You want the last two to three reps to be…
  • I think you need to switch up what you are doing. What types of exercises are you doing? If you have been focusing strictly on cardio, I would focus more on strength training. Muscle burns fat. Have you changed your caloric intake? Give me a little information on what you have been doing and perhaps I can offer a little…
  • There is a window of opportunity of about one hour to drinking a recovery drink (or post workout drink). I have read the ratio of carbs to protein should be 4:1 for the best results.
  • Well, unfortunately, I am going to give you a biased recommendation because I am an Independent Team Beachbody Coach. I have used P90X and am currently on Day 22 of Insanity. I love these workouts! The programs offered by Beachbody are a comprehensive solution to weight loss for not only do you get the DVDs and the…
  • I recall the old system (Points Plus) was 50 calories per point. Now it has changed and I believe they give you more points per day. I think watching your calories is very important, so if you converted your points to calories and you are way over, then you may want to rethink the number of points you are allowed each day.…
  • LUCK! This is a great website! I also use the phone app, but I like hearing of the success stories and encouraging people to keep up the great work. The website is just more personal. I am on it everyday!
  • I LOVE my chocolate Shakeology once a day. It not only gives me my chocolate fix, but it helps curb my appetite and provides me with all the nutrients I need for the day! DELISH!
  • Congrats your recent weight loss! Wow! A half marathon!?!?! That is quite a feat! I used to run 5K's but haven't in awhile. I think that would be the longest run I could ever commit to. Best of luck to you on your journey!
  • I think the main things to track are calories, fat, carbs and protein. I try to stay on track with my calories ALWAYS and then keep two of the three remaining in check (within 20% of my daily value). I hope that answers your question.
  • The first thing you need to do is wipe the word "diet" from your vocabulary! Seriously...all too often, people say "I'm going on a diet." What I believe you truly mean to say is "You are changing your lifestyle." You are off to a great start with joining a gym. Another great thing is joining MFP for the support. I think…
  • Great motivation! Best of luck to you! The first thing to start doing is establishing a plan! The plan of being on MFP is a super start! Welcome!
