  • A while ago, I was walking to class and some guy in a car started barking at me. When I ignored him and turned a corner, he turned his car around and started following me and shouted "Hey b!tch, why are you walking away from me?" Well, let's see here. YOU *kitten* BARKED AT ME. Thankfully, once I turned he wasn't able to…
  • Great job OP! I can definitely tell a difference, especially in the "love handles" area right above the bikini bottom! Edit: And I love the posts that show how the scale doesn't always reflect progress. Really, just awesome progress!
  • Also 5'2 and I have to work out almost every day to eat 1400 and lose a pound a week. Come, join me on the struggle bus, we have free fruit that you can eat as a snack because "normal" snacks are kinda out of the question for the time being.
  • I'm going to second this statement. It probably IS just water weight, I know I tend to hold water like a mofo and drop it off quickly when I start watching calories/working out again. As for "enjoying the extra weight loss," you can also take this route but beware of eating too little for your fitness level and becoming…
  • I would suggest starting at that calorie limit and lowering it if it seems as though you're not losing any weight within about a month to a month and a half. Another suggestion: buy a food scale and measure all of your dry foods for a more accurate look at how many calories you're eating. For instance, a bag of chips will…
  • Yep! I'm partial to craft beers but I've also been known to put away a few 6-packs of PBR when in need. And now I'm off to have a beer with my lunch!
  • It took me forever! I came into this not knowing a lot, so I thought I had to be below 1200 calories to lose any weight so I basically starved myself and spent way too much time on the elliptical. Then I finally met some friends on here who told me what I needed to know about BMR and I've been doing fairly well ever since.…
  • 5'2 SW: 220 lbs US 18-20 CW: 155 lbs US 6-10 It really depends on the jeans on what size I wear. I have large hips, so I can wear a smaller size in dresses, typically 4/6. My goal weight range is anywhere between 120-135 and I'm guessing I'd be somewhere between a 2-6 at that time.
  • I donate to a local women's shelter or give them to friends. I also shop almost primarily at thrift stores or at places where I can get a store credit card so I can pay back the debt later (the American dream). I have found clothes at the thrift store with their tags still on for like $4-5 and one time I got a sheath dress…
  • That first one got me through some tough times as well!
  • This was my background for a very long time.
  • Awesome progress and adorable dress!
  • I think a large part of this is that you have to want to do it for you. Yes, it's nice to have guys interested in you but that will only motivate you so much, so I think it's better to have the motivation come from within. Set goals based on health and fitness (ie, eat the recommended amount of fruits/vegetables, exercise…
  • I agree with @VintageFeline, you should figure out your BMR and don't go below that. I'm assuming it will be above 1200, but I haven't calculated it. This calculator should help you find out what you should be eating to lose weight: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ I would also suggest dropping your goal to…
  • I really like experimenting with add-ins for water too. Fresh cucumber, orange, lemon, strawberry, mint. Oh, it's so good! I've heard the mint will help you poo, so that's not too bad either. I'm also a shameless kitten so I use the fruit in my water as a mid-day snack too. No need to waste perfectly good fruit just…
  • The Beast and the Harlot-Ax7 That's my favorite song to listen to when I'm getting to the end of a run and really need to keep up my momentum.
  • And, yes, I did mean a heartless kitten. Thanks MFP. Here's a picture of me IRL
  • Hmm, sorry I was born without one. Just ask any of my ex's. I'm a heartless *kitten*.
  • Damn, I came to this thread hoping to read that people were trying to sell some black market organs but I'm just disappointed. Completely unrelated: If anybody knows somebody in the market for a kidney or another expendable organ, I am always willing to sell. Got too many organs and not enough money.
  • Fixed it for you. *edit: I have done Insanity and I liked the workout, but I borrowed it from a friend because I can't see myself paying $150 for that. Nope, nope, nope.
  • If you have access to a freezer and microwave, I suggest Bird's Eye steamers with vegetables and rice. I also really like canned tuna and chicken salad quite frequently as well as canned soups. You really have to watch the sodium with these things, but otherwise you can find good options. Tbh, I still eat "like a college…
  • Usually I vote ice cream, but gonna go beer on this one!
  • No need to be scared! Just ease yourself into it. You don't have to be a week in and already in a huge calorie deficit and running marathons, go at your own pace. Don't try to take it too fast because that's usually not conducive to sustainability and long-term results. Don't be too aggressive in your goals, especially at…
  • Exactly this. I've lost 60+ lbs (and keep losing consistently) and I eat carbs all the time. No low carb, low fat, low sugar or anything else. Just monitoring my calories and making sure I'm eating fewer than I expend.
  • If people are gaining 5-10lbs in 2-3 days, they're either eating an enormous amount of calories or they're gaining water weight which will go away with time. Not in maintenance, just my observation.
  • Well, I have good news for you! Barring any health issues that would require you to limit your carb intake, you can eat all the carbs you want and still lose weight if you stay within your calories. The one thing I cut out of my diet to lose weight was full calorie soda (which I replaced with diet soda) because I prefer to…
  • ^^^This. It doesn't matter how much I'm over, I just move on for the day.
  • Tbh, these days happen to everybody and if I overeat one day, I just eat normally the next day.
  • I do the same thing (minus using the app, I just make a mental note) to keep track of fluctuations due to various things like exercise, eating certain things, water intake, generally different weights having to do with season. I would also warn the OP to put very little thought into fluctuations if you're weighing in…
