Awesome!! I am doing Jeff's training program as well for my first Half Marathon in January (Disney World Half Marathon !!!!). This Saturday I am going to try and run 10 miles (Current longest run is 8). Hope I make it. Good luck :)

Awesome. Getting ready for my first Half-Marathon in January. Congrats!!

Go for it!! You will be fine. If you are running EVERYDAY, that could be one reason why you are getting shin splints. I'm no expert, but from my friends who are avid runners, they tell me to run 4-5 days a week max. Our bodies need time to recover.

Running. Never did it my whole life. Now I love it. Oh, and fitting into 32 waist jeans (used to be 44) was a very close second.

I just got back from a convention where I see the same people on an annual basis. They were all very conplimentary on my weight loss. But then a close friend who was also there said that three people came up to her and asked if I was sick because of my weight loss. I mean, I still weigh 178 pounds!!! God forbid it's…

That is a great pic. Can I steal your idea? I was in a 44 waist and just got into a pair of 33 Levi's.

It doesn't matter where you finish. The accomplishment is to remember where you were and the hard work you put in to complete the race.
-
You ARE a runner. Congrats!!!!

Tons of great advice from all the responders. I would just say, enjoy every moment of it. Don't stress out over it. The first time crossing the finish line, regardless of your time, is an amazing feeling.
