TeaBea, thank you so much for the info on past workouts. Healthymom_5, I haven't tried those yet. I am happy to say that I found one that I just LOVE! It's the Walk At Home-Walking Down Your Blood Sugar. For some reason, it isn't boring for me and it's just the right pace. I modify a few things, so there will continue to…

It's interesting to me that after I set a monthly walking goal in July, I had great difficulty getting out to walk! I was having a bad attitude about tracking my miles, but as of today, I've found a lovely way to track that I like! I've had a bumpy last two weeks and I want to walk more miles and be more consistent, too.…

Wow, bandit1525! You're an inspiration! Congrats! I live on a road with no sidewalks and no safe shoulders, so I often drive 4 minutes to the nearest neighborhood with sidewalks. I'm so lucky, I have a view of Mount Rainier on my walk! I love these summer months because it is light early in the morning and I can walk and…

dorothytd & AnnofB, I really appreciate your recommendation and letting me know it's okay to have a bunch of DVDs! I like the idea that I'll have favorites and I can mix it up when I have my own collection! I enjoyed a walk outside today but I really want to walk before bed(!) so I think I'll try an easy 1 mile on YouTube.…

Hi there, I'm new to this Challenge and I'm excited. I've never really considered setting a goal for the month, so I'm going to try it out. July Goal = 1 mile/day (inside or outside or treadmill) 1.0 = Total Miles since July 18th Here we go!
-
Thanks for the replies! OK, I'm thinking about my goal! Heading over to the challenge, that sounds like fun!

It's your choice how you deal with this...you can start fresh right now. A few days from now you'll look back and be glad you just kept going. :)

That's excellent news! I enjoy 85% fair trade, organic dark chocolate every day! It was really bitter at first, but now it tastes like a sweet, creamy treat!
-
I love 85% dark chocolate! Low sugar for me. I weigh my ice cream.

It does take some work up front to get your "per serving" nutritional numbers. I've been working on my big batch recipes like chili and it is really awesome when I come back around for the second time and the numbers are all ready for me! Just last night I made turkey sloppy joes in a big pan. I added up all the ingredient…

Wow! You look wonderful! Keep up the good work as you go for your goal!

In the past, I tried to make all the needed changes at once, and that was a set up for failure for me because I just couldn't create new habits all at once. I'd get discouraged because I couldn't keep all the balls juggling at the same time. What has helped me is to make needed changes into habits before taking on…

I go through phases, sometimes I'm hungry for breakfast, sometimes I don't want to eat until after noon. Right now, I'm going with what my body wants to do and not worrying about eating at a certain time. I do try to not eat after my last meal of the day, which sometimes is late at 8pm. Are you concerned that you should…

Love nuts and fruit with my oatmeal! Just a few dried cherries, craisins, sliced almonds or pistachios with one tablespoon of heavy cream on top! Yum!
-
Wow! What an accomplishment!

You look FANTASTIC! I bet you FEEL even better! Congratulations on meeting your goal!!!!!!

I like to eat my sweets when I'm hungry (instead of after a meal) because the taste buds tend to dull as one gains satiety. So after a meal, I don't taste my desserts with the same intensity. I usually have a sweet for one of my snacks so I can really taste it! I make room in my daily calories when I want dessert. My…

Hi there, I'm on my way to losing 100 pounds. I'm in my mid-40s. For me, I wasn't able to implement all the facets of weight loss all at once. So I entered into my process, knowing I would come up against things that were harder than others. I spent months having my focus on getting enough water...then I had months of…

Congratulations on taking the step to order a scale! I'm excited for you! Everyone has given great advice and especially about weighing peanut butter! I weigh mine...in fact, I weigh EVERYTHING. Weighing everything gives me peace of mind and keeps me honest. It is also sooooo much easier to toss a bowl on the scale, one…
-
You are such an inspiration! I love all the photos. And I nearly fell off my chair when you mentioned your scale...and peanut butter...and chocolate chips. I have been there, too! Thanks for taking time to post, you're fantastic!

I started changing my lifestyle about two years ago. One of the first things I did was begin to reduce my refined sugar intake. When going off sugar, it usually takes me about four days to feel better, but for four days I have sugar withdrawal including headaches and irritability. This has been a process to reduce refined…

Looking at your diary, I know for me, that if I ate that many refined carbs, I would want more, More, MORE! Cutting back on my carbs and balancing my macros has helped me stabilize my blood sugar and hunger, too. You may actually need more nutrition, too, from foods that are more living that what you're eating. I know when…

This is just so cool! I've been wanting to replace my high fiber breakfast cereal with something other than wheat. So today I bought some brown lentils. I tossed in about 12oz of lentils in with a 32oz box of organic chicken stock from Costco. Brought to a boil and then simmered for 30 minutes. I can't believe how tasty…

I did 10 counter push-ups today. I wonder if I add one more everyday if I could actually do 100 counter push-ups in 100 days. I might challenge myself!

Like others, I chop up my cooked chicken breast, measure out 60 gram zip bags and store them in the freezer. Easy to defrost in the microwave and toss on my daily salad for a protein boost.
