  • Why do I have to ask my husband to do chores around the house? When I walk around my house, several things "scream" at me that they need to be done (clothes in the dryer, dirty dishes, toys on the floor, smudged windows). Why do I have to get up so early to exercise, get ready for the day, etc. when he can roll out of bed…
  • Thanks for the site. I'll try it out!
  • Inspiring posts! I did 5 miles today in the blustery wind. I wish I had a running partner. All my friends live more than 20 miles away or are pregs! Oh well, it gives me some alone time with my music. Happy running all! Lisa
  • Yay! I finally got back out after the storm that blew through last week. No slick spots and a tolerable 35 degrees. I got 5 miles in. I could tell, though, I hadn't run in a while. Some muscles were a bit sore. I have been doing tae bo and other kickboxing videos during the week so I'm not entirely bumming. Happy running…
  • I TaeBo'ed today. Midwest winter storm has blasted us. Plus, DH went to the Iowa Hawkeyes game for the weekend. No child care. Trying not to be bitter--he went hunting last week. I am needing a treadmill! I prefer running outside, but a treadmill would be great to have... :grumble:
  • Did almost five today and it was beautiful! Shorts and a t shirt!!!! In November... Katie--I cried everyday for a week when I took my daughter to daycare for the first time. I cursed my husband for "making" me go back to work, etc, etc. I have come to realize I need some adult "me" time. Hang in there. It does get better!
  • Luckily, I have avoided Halloween candy. My husband ate most of it! Did a great 4.5 miles today in balmy Iowa weather. It's supposed to rain the rest of the week so I might try to get a run in Tues morning...
  • Maybe people are racing today? I did a good ol 4.5 miles this morning. My DH went hunting and left at 4:30. I had no childcare and was itching to run. Luckily, my 84 year old grandma, who is awesome, volunteered to watch my kids for an hour. God Bless her. I felt great to have some "me" time. It makes me a less grouchy…
  • Happy Halloween my fellow spooks. Went out for a great 4.5 mile run this AM. Going to take my 18 month old and 3 year old out for trick or treating this evening. It's supposed to be nice--yay!
  • Got in over 4.5 miles. Had a terrible case of side aches yesterday. I've never had those before! Don't know why I got them, but they were gone today. Yay! I've never had shin splints either. If I haven't gotten them by now, am I safe?
  • Did 4.5 miles this morning before the cold rain hit. I love this time of year minus the ickey precip. Will try for five tomorrow. Good luck to all racers this weekend...
  • Woo hoo teachers! Anyone else counting down until holiday vacations?
  • Teach: I went out for my run and just missed the rain (NW Iowa) at 5:30. Did 4.5 miles and headed back, thinking we were getting more. Just dreary today. I was hoping to get outside with the little ones, but it's looking chilly. I am 4/5 time at my school (counselor) so I'm lucky to have Fridays OFF!!! Maybe the…
  • Great time firegirlred! I did a five miler today. It was spitting rain outside, but it didn't seem to bother me. I'll be Shredding Mon-Wed but will be back Thursday through Sunday. Happy running all!
  • Good luck on your 1/2 marathon. Beautiful crisp morning! I did five miles with no problems. Need to push through that wall sometime and try 7 miles. Don't want to get too comfy!
  • Good luck on your race. I did a great 4.5 miles this morning. But, why oh why does there have to be a bakery on my running route? I almost licked the windows with the gooey, dough-y smells coming out of that evil store!
  • Did four miles this morning. I should have read the posts sooner and went for some chocolate milk!
  • Ran almost four this morning at my IL's. Yay all!
  • Hi! Did 5 1/2 miles this morning. I "slept in" until 6:30 and went out. Nice crisp Iowa day!
  • Please do not give PB until 24 months. My daughter is allergic and we didn't know. She had been given PB twice which was enough to activate a reaction. The first exposure doesn't always show the reaction. It's like the body learns to recognize the allergy. I ate PB almost daily while pregnant with my daughter. I don't know…
  • Did four this morning and plan for five Saturday. I have a nasty blister on the back of my ankle that rubs against my shoes. I hope it goes away. Maybe some time for new shoes...
  • On my to-do list this week: Buy pepper spray or a T-shirt that advertises that I have a raging STD... Thanks for everyone's kind words. I really feel support from the MFP group!
  • 515TeachNRun: I'm in LeMars, Ia. Near Sioux City.
  • I live in a rural community in Iowa of 9,000. This has happened a few times while I have run over a 2-3 year period. At first I was scared, then really angry. My DH was livid. My parents live out on a farm a few miles from town and I have run out on the gravel roads as well. Two years ago, a runner was hit and killed by a…
  • I've seen letters like this written and I figure it's a good way to get my anger out! Dear poo face, I hope you felt good commenting on my butt and what you'd like to do with me while I was running today. I was feeling stoked while running a great Sunday run and minding my own business when you pulled up along side me and…
  • I'm excited to hear how everyone did on runs this weekend. I did 5 miles of running, 1 of walking. Felt really good. I'm posting a separate thread on what happened during my run today with some harassment. I will tell you, anger makes a good running partner!
  • Got up and ran. Beautiful crisp fall day in Iowa. Ran 3.5, walked 1, ran 2.5. I think I could have walked less. Part of that walk was devoted to dodging hills of goose poo on the trail. Almost like an obstacle course! Great runs today guys! Seems like I always get a better run in on Saturdays. I'm more relaxed, but also…
  • Morning! My runs are from Thurs to Sunday. Today I ran 4, walked about 1/2 mile in between. Time to fess up--I had my first flat out, face down fall today! :embarassed: My knees and shoulder are skinned but my pride hurts more. I am proud I got up, walked for a minute, and started running again. Mind you, this was at 5:30…
  • Good job all. I'm just proud to post my measly 5 miles today! Monday through Wednesday I think I'll be doing the Shred video and walking but I'll be back to running Thurs through Sunday. People in this thread give it their all. I need to be around you over-achievers!
  • Wow, everyone's pushing their limits today. I did 5 miles! I can't tell you how excited I am. NEVER have done that before. The funny thing is, I started out so crabby and convinced myself I couldn't do it. The first mile was bad, but you hit your stride and keep going. Thanks for letting me post!
