I'm jealous; your before picture looks better than my current! Feel free to add me; "many hands make light work".

Krista, would you please give us the recipe? I miss toast, although it's mostly a vehicle to eat butter. ;)

I love eggs, eat them whole. The shell just gives added crunch. :-D. LOL

In for recipes, great idea!

OP, I would agree with what someone said earlier about waiting until you're keto adapted before cheat meals because you'll get back to fat burning sooner. I had a cheat meal 3 weeks in, on my annual personal holiday, and I gained 2 pounds and stalled for 3 weeks. All without going over my modest calorie deficit. The…

My friends and I all started at the same time; they got cramps and I didn't. What did I do dufferently? Daily bouillon, mg supplements, potassium supplements. I did feel light headed a few mornings and started drinking an electrolyte replacement at night before going to bed. Good luck!

Whole eggs are good, no starchy veggies are good. Potatoes not so much. I've been told not to drink milk, cause it's got too mani carbs. Cream, paradoxically, is fine.

Ruby, one of the things I have learned in the month I've been doing this is that there are a lot of people who think they have the right to attack you and your choices based on what they think is healthy. Dietitians and other health care professionals are some of the worst offenders. I was placed on this diet by a…

I found a fantastic website which really explains things well. It's ketotic.org. Based on that site and Peter Attia's site, I've been restricting my carbs to 20 per day with 130 grams of protein as goal. The remainder fat. It's lower carbs than you're doing, shutterbabe, but I am not telling you you're doing something…

Well shoot, there goes that theory. The bacteria in the vagina which keeps the ph low apparently need glycogen to lower the ph. If you're glycogen depleted, perhaps the ph would rise, predisposing to infections and odor. Oh well. Thanks for the help!

I have seen reddit, and you're right it has a more pleasant environment with fewer judge mental people. I mostly use MFP to track my macros, which has been very helpful.

I have been on a low carb diet for about a month. It was initially a challenge because I was carb addicted too, but I stuck it out. I don't really crave carbs any longer, but on my birthday I had a flour less chocolate lava cake. With 10 minutes I felt horrible, with nausea, GI upset and headache. I feel fantastic and…

Some people do net, some don't. Me, I do net carbs because I just can't get below 20 any other way. I eat too many veggies, which my doc isn't happy about, but I'm still in ketosis..:)

I got the finis AQUA PULSE® HEART RATE MONITOR last year and used it every day. I loved it, because I didn't have to bother with the chest strap. It connects to your goggle strap and to your earlobe and audibly gives you a heart rate.

I ate 40 carbs today, usually I'm under 20. Damn, veggies can have sneaky carbs! ;)

Yes, PCOS does have a small risk of endometrial cancer. Fortunately, the prevention is just to get your menses more regularly. That's one reason to go on the pills, another reason to lose weight. I've had PCOS for 20 years, just recently decided to get it under control and have let 30 pounds. My menses has come back, which…

I'm very new to this (been doing keto for 4 weeks). Decided to get a monitor and found a nova max plus which was free when you bought two boxes of strips for $20 a piece. Look up nova cares.com.

There's a new treatment that you have to get from a plastic surgeon which is not surgery. Look up Viora...it's not cheap, buts it's better than surgery. Someday I hope to have lost enough weight to need this! :-D

How are you doing? Have you supplemented magnesium? Hopefully your doctor checked that too...

Cholesterol is confusing right now. The total cholesterol isn't as predictive of heart disease as we once thought. You should ask about highly sensitive CRP as well as lipoprotein analysis (apoB and LDL-p). Most people don't need to worry about cholesterol on LCHF, but about a third of people will have their LDL-P go up…

Ok, you'll all think I'm nuts, but I like my coffee with a tablespoon of grassfed butter, a teaspoon of coconut oil and a raw free range egg. I put it all in the blender and spin for a minute. It's even better with ice to make iced coffee!

Thanks for mentioning this. I didn't want to go into the difference between DKA and ketosis for a nondiabetic cause I felt too wordy already. ;)

Hi, I'm new to keto diet and want to lose 50 pounds. I don't like meat although I'm not strictly speaking vegetarian. Like to get some pointers on ketosis without red meat...

Hi! I am on a ketogenic diet, monitored by my bariatric physician, in case any haters want to jump on me for my choice of diets. Cardboardboxp, lots of people on this website are very anti-ketosis in my limited experience, so you'll get some negative responses just for saying the words. When you're in ketosis, your body is…

At the risk of being flamed, I would argue the lipid panel means little. Ask for a lipoprotein analysis, especially a LDL-p and an apoB, these are more predictive of cardiovascular health than total chol. Good luck, I think you're on the right track too, especially for weight loss ?

Thank you!

Don't know if you're still looking for guidance on this, but the issue with colonoscopy: can the doc see the walls of your colon with it being obscured by stool. If you have a clear, watery bm prior to the colonoscopy, then everything should be good. If you're still having brown bowel movements, I'd cancel and try again…
