  • I'm in! I've been wanting to do this for a while. I plan on starting on Monday. I'll download the Android app and do the test later today :D
  • I eat a TON of beans and nuts :D I'm one of those people that can't stand Greek Yogurt, so beans and nuts have been my lifesaver, especially since I lift 3 days a week.
  • These are awesome! But.... I can beat all of you on the embarrassment scale. I swear. I have both my BA and MA in English. And I.... wait for it...... ...read Twilight FanFiction. There. I said it. I own the dorky awesomeness!
  • I'll throw in my vote for the Polar FT4 as well...I adore mine. They have them at D!cks Sporting goods, Target, and Sears. :D
  • I agree with the above poster who said that it would be possible in the beginning, but the closer you get to your goal the harder it will become. I am currently within 10 pounds of my goal weight and I'm lucky if I see a .5 loss in a week....lately it's been more like .5 every week and a half to two weeks, and I am pretty…
  • Bump I'm curious too. I'm horrid at pushups :(
  • I took a look at your diary...it looks like you might need to plan your day a little better by introducing higher-calorie, healthy snacks during the day. Some of my go-to highly caloric snacks are nuts (specifically unsalted almonds and cashews) and whole-grain pita with hummus. I've heard that some people really like…
  • You'll get a lot of dissenting opinions. The general consensus is that yes, you should eat back the calories that you burn while working out. So if you burn 600 extra calories, you'll eat 1900 cals that day. That's doesn't always work for everyone, though. I personally eat what I feel like my body needs. If I've eaten 1300…
  • I rotate between three things: Oatmeal (low sugar maple oatmeal) shredded wheat (the 100% all natural kind, with the ONLY ingredient being wheat) An egg on toast I usually add some kind of fruit in, either strawberries or grapes or pineapple. I'm not a big morning eater, so this usually lasts me to lunch :D
  • Me too. I try to average between 12 and 14 8oz. glasses a day. Since I've started drinking that much, my skin has been better, running and cardio has been easier, and I just feel better over all :D
  • PS - feel free to add me, it seems like we have similar problem areas!
  • Are you currently doing weighted squats and lunges? My lower body has been my problem too, and I've had a ton of success by lifting HEAVY. My cottage cheese thighs are almost completely gone, and I still have 10 pounds to lose :D Take a look at bodybuilding.com, they provide free lifting plans. I've been using ChaLEAN…
  • I go over on sugars EVERY DAY because of fruit. Generally, I look at my diary at the end of the day and take a look at where my sugar has come from. If 90%+ has come from fruit/milk/whole (unprocessed) foods, I count that a good day :D I guess it's working, I've lost 20 lbs since the beginning of March!
  • That's awesome! I did it once years ago, but I haven't had the patience to grow it back out since then :D Your new cut looks fantastic!
  • I'm reading A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. I'm a big fantasy buff, and soooo many people have told me that I should read it that I'm finally getting around to it :D
  • It's totally addicting :D Have you read the books too? I love them!
  • I have two kidlets, I breastfed the first for 11 months and the second for 6 months. A few things to consider: Make sure you're not only eating enough calories, but enough of the RIGHT calories. Eating junk will still make you gain weight, even when breastfeeding. Also, for your body to make breastmilk, it sucks all the…
  • I started in spring 2010 with Slim in 6. I tried ChaLEAN Extreme next, but only got through the second phase before quitting...2 and a half months ago I started CLX again, and I'm a week and a half from finishing it! Trying to decide what to do next. Chalene is my fav :D I adore her.
  • LOVE this so much! Bumping for later :D
  • This is Oscar: He's a retired racing greyhound. One would think he would like running with me, right? Wrong. This is what Oscar likes to do: The last time I tried to take him running with me, he thought it was interesting for about a half mile and then he refused to go any farther. He literally stood completely still in…
  • I am so, so sorry! It is so hard to lose someone you love so much. I lost my best friend 4 years ago...she was in a car accident and she and her unborn child were killed instantly. The thing that kept me going was knowing that she she loved me and always wanted the best for me...she wouldn't have wanted me to wallow, or…
  • The ones without a chest strap aren't anywhere near as accurate as the ones with the strap. However, if your ticker in your signature is correct, you still have a bit of weight to lose...you'll burn more calories the more weight you have to lose, so your HRM is probably more accurate than MFP from that standpoint.
  • I have a good friend who is a personal trainer, and I recently visited her at her gym and took one of her circuit training classes. There was a TON of ab work (my weakest point), and then in the last circuit we did decline situps tossing a 6 pound medicine ball back and forth. My abs were the sorest I've ever had them for…
  • I love love LOVE mine. Not because I obsess over calories burned, but because I feel like it helps me be more efficient about my workouts. I love knowing that I'm working as hard as is safe for me. I have a Polar FT4 and I think it's fantastic. It cost me $71 on Amazon.
  • For things that are a little on the higher-end, do you have any nice consignment shops or a Plato's Closet around you? I love buying second hand. I'm heading to Plato's Closet today to look for shorts, all of my shorts from last summer are waaaaaaaaaaaay too big :D
  • This thread is a.ma.zing! My 2 cents: Wait and Bleed by Slipknot The Kids Aren't Alright by Offspring
  • Heh, I think it would take me as long to knit a sweater as it will take me to reach my goal weight, beginning to end. I knit a TON, but have knitting ADD...I can't stay on one project for more than a week or two before I need to work on something else :P
  • Haha, LOVE! When my husband and I were introduced to Firefly, we made it our personal mission to convert EVERYONE.
  • Someone wrote an amazing blog post on the scientific reasons for it...I'll see if I can find it....anyone else know which one I'm talking about?
  • Ahhhh! I have to try this! Thanks so much :D
