  • Oh my goodness guys, I just finished my first week of Lean phase, and man is it ROUGH! But in a good way :D My arms are jelly, my legs are sore, and I'm just all over tired...but I feel SO GOOD about my efforts! CLX has helped me lose 17 pounds so far, I'm looking forward to seeing how it changes my body in the next three…
  • Greek yogurt, bananas, and pears.
  • I mostly like mine. It's really convenient, has a cord wrap so that the cord doesn't bounce all around, and has a plastic covering so that I can still use the touch screen while I'm wearing it. However, if I don't put it on JUST RIGHT, and tighten it just enough but not too much, it pinches my arm and gets uncomfortable.…
  • I will actually start Week 1 of the Lean phase on Sunday (so the beginning of month 3), but I'd love to join and offer support/ encouragement/advice for anyone just starting it :D I am SUPER in love with this program.
  • I personally use the Chalean Extreme workout right now, and love it, but she uses dumbbells, not machines. I think when I'm done that I'm going to start using a workout from over at bodybuilding.com. It's an amazing site...they come up with a whole routine for you, and it's free!
  • It might get a little better...but honestly, some people have better skin elasticity than other people. If your youngest is already over 3, you're probably looking at as good as it will get naturally :( My youngest is 5, and my skin hasn't looked any better in years. My best friend jokes that I have an old man living in my…
  • I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but short of surgery, there isn't anything you can do about the skin. Skin and stretch marks don't go away no matter how much your work out, or how firm your abs are :( I have the same problem.
  • You're never ready. No one is, really. But your munchkin will teach you what to do as you go along :D My first was a happy accident and was the easiest child ever. My second was totally planned because I didn't want to have an only child and he has tested my patience and sanity at every turn. It's wonderful, and…

  • Weight training! Add some in if you can. It does SO MUCH GOOD for your body. One of the best things? Almost all weight training, done properly, strengthens your core. AND muscles help burn fat over the long term, and will help you sustain your weight loss :D
  • I bought a super cheap charger off of ebay and it works great. Just make sure that when you look for one, your specific model of iPod is listed as compatible.
  • 5'2" and a half here. Yes, I'll keep that half inch, thankyouverymuch! 15 pounds down, about 10-15 to go. Who else has trouble buying jeans? I HATE buying jeans. My thighs and butt are bigger (size-wise) than my waist, and then on top of that I'm short, so nothing ever fits right :(
  • Most videos with a lot of cardio have "low impact" modifications for every exercise. I did Slim in 6 a while back and also got bored with it, and moved on to Chalean Extreme. I can't recommend it enough! She has 1-2 people in every video demonstrating the modifications, and they keep everything really low, no jumping or…
  • A good friend recently told me that if I ever feel like that, try stretching or yoga! You still feel like you're "working out," and are still doing good things for your body, but are still giving it the chance to recover from your heavy cardio/weight training days.
  • I just ordered a Polar FT4 from Amazon, so I don't have personal experience yet, but it got amazing reviews both from MFP'ers and on Amazon, and it's super cheap right now from $71.99. The Polar website sells it for $99.99.
  • I add things in as soon as they're planned. Like, as soon as I figure out what I'm making for dinner, I add it in. It helps me plan my snacks better for the day. Also, if I don't work out in the morning, I'll add in my workout early as well. If I'm already planning on having those extra calories, it motivates me to make…
  • Multi grain pitas and roasted garlic hummus :D Delicious and super filling, and perfect at about 160 calories (for the ones I get, at least).
  • Ditto. I don't count fruit sugars or milk sugars. If I take those out, I'm way under sugar every day :D
  • I'm doing this too! I'm going to try to not go overboard, and be conscious of portion sizes, but I'm not going crazy today. I don't even think I'm going to log anything. My 10 year old daughter made me french toast for lunch all by herself, and I will not feel bad about enjoying it :D
  • Maybe your body needs those extra calories to work effectively! You should take a look at the difference in your deficits. Sometimes eating more of the "right" foods can help you lose more!
  • What types of sugars are they? Are they fruit sugars, or processed sugars? For instance, if you're going over your sugars because you eat soooo much fruit, it's not a big deal. However, if you've had 2 sodas and some cookies, that's a different story, and you need to try to simply eat less of them. I go over sugars almost…
  • I have this gorgeous strapless dress in my closet that I bought years ago when I was at my goal weight. I only wore it once, and it cost waaaaaaay too much to have only been worn once! I can't wait to wear it again!
  • Oooo, you guys are fantastic, thanks! Those all sound like good options. I've noticed that since I've been better about adding healthy snacks I don't need those huge portions anymore, so I'll definitely be eating less than a whole plate! Feeling much better about my options. Thanks again!
  • I've found that for me, the calorie count on my elliptical runs really high and the calorie count here on MPF is generally low. Annoying.
  • I just posted this in another thread :D My favorite: A half cup each of brown rice, broccoli, and black beans, tossed with a tablespoon of reduced sodium soy sauce. Super yummy, only about 250 calories, and very filling.
  • One half cup each of brown rice, broccoli, and black beans mixed together and tossed with some reduced sodium soy sauce. NOMNOMNOM. My favorite :D Only about 250 calories and super filling.
  • I loveloveLOVE Chalean Extreme. I really enjoy lifting and I love her approach, her easy manner, the way she motivates, and the fact that she is so very into good form. I also don't love the cardio that comes with the workout, but I still do it. I've looked into Turbo Fire but don't have the money for them at the moment,…
  • My favorite ice cream is from Coldstone Creamery. I always used to get the small size ("like it" size) of the Mint Mint Chocolate Chocolate Chip ice cream. I recently looked it up....it's 900+ calories :(
  • I'm a huge literature geek. I have both my BA and MA in English Lit, so I've spent a good chunk of my life reading. My username is from a poem by Theodore Roethke called "The Waking." The line it's from says, "I learn by going where I have to go."
  • I'm 5' 2.5", and currently my goal is 120, although I'd love to eventually shoot for 115. I just hit 130.5 lbs at my weigh-in this morning, and CAN'T WAIT to be in the 120's for the first time in years :D
