ive done alot of exercise for me this week, I've either been on mammoth bike rides with my son or to the gym everyday and I have an appointment atthe gym tomorrow to update my programe so I thought I'd have a rest day today. Well I've wokn up feeling guilty and lazy! I know that's not the case and it's fab that I want to exercise.
So I guess I want to know how important is it to have a rest day?
I'm planning on starting 30 shred on Monday as well should you have rest days during that?

you should. J/K. rest is very important for your body to recover. not resting can lead to injury or your body shutting itself down.0

Thanks!
Hmm now I gotta get the idea of a naughty treat out my head on this sunny saturday! No exercise means no extra cals means no naughty treat lol
It's probably a good thing0 -
I know exactly what you mean... I usually workout in the morning and if I miss it, I feel like a right fat slob! I know resting from exercise is good for you, and so is a rest day from healthy eating.... its a hard task but it does good for you to shake up your motabolism.... if you feel that bad about it, make it your goal to drink lots of water on that day so at least your doing some good...0

I feel the same way....I NEVER thought I would be "one of those people" who feels bad for not working out. I do take rest days but it stresses me out!0

A good friend recently told me that if I ever feel like that, try stretching or yoga! You still feel like you're "working out," and are still doing good things for your body, but are still giving it the chance to recover from your heavy cardio/weight training days.0

Good idea, never thought of that!0 -
Rest days stress me out too! I feel sloppy! I remember when I first started getting back in the groove of working out I couldn't stand doing it all the time and now it's just like all the other routines I do0

I swim on my rest days as there is no stress on the body yet youre still burning loads of cals.
At the moment I am only having a day off if I literally can't fit it into my day (ie. going straight out after work)- but I feel so gullty - which is silly because I am exercising 4/5 days out of 7 and I used to struggle to be motivated to do even 2 or 3.0
