My husband of 28 years had his arms around me the other night and informed me there is nothing to grab hold of anymore (unfortunately there is but not as much!)

For fun, my Dad would take us up on the hill to pick up a truckload of rocks. This was a particularly good way to cure my (then 17 year old) older brother of a severe hangover.

Love it! LOL

I'm a claims service analyst for a managed health insurance company. I audit projects and also handle claims adustments. I have worked from home since June 2010 and spend my day sitting on my butt in front of a computer. I do get a break here and there to do a load of laundry or dishes. I usually start my day at 5:30 AM so…

That possum comment made me remember I had a pet possum when I was in 4th grade. I took it to school for show and tell. And 3 of us kids slept upstairs where there was no heat. We slept under piles of blankets & there was ice on the insides of the windows

LOL@ fly swatter! We had to cut out own switches out of an oak tree. If they weren't big enough, she'd make us go get a bigger one

we used to stand up in the back of the truck bed while Dad drove down the gravel roads, or we'd sit on the tailgate & try to drag out feet. We ran all over the countryside with the snakes & coyotes and never thought twice about playing in the pasture. If the bull acted like he was gonna take us, we'd jump in a washed out…

Welcome, the more you do it, the easier it gets. Hang in there :)

congrats on your accomplishments. It helps encourage us newbies to stay on task with our goals.

that should be "THAN" the guilt feelings

I couldn't agree more on the lifestyle change. I ate at a mexican place today too and also stayed out of the chips and salsa! It feels so much better staying on track and the guilt feelings for not staying on track.

You are in the right place, welcome and good luck :)

Thanks everyone!!

count me in!

I keep the site up all day while I'm working and generally fill each meal out as I go, but if I have something specific in mind I plan to eat, I'll go ahead and plug it in and get an idea what the calories will be & if it's more than I want, I'll make different choices. I am not organized enough to plan everything out in…

I have been told it's best to mix it up so maybe do both....cardio one day and strength the next day? I tend to do more cardio myself, I just feel like I get better results from it

WOW! I can't wait to watch your progress. Congrats for taking charge of your life

You are a beautiful lady. Congrats!

I am gonna make it a point to buy some of those and try it. Thanks for the tip!

Welcome and good luck! I'm pretty new to the site but already see better results than any of the numerous diets and fads I have tried. I have battled my weight my entire life, and I am loving MFP. Feel free to add me if you like :)

I have snuck food too,. Maybe I thought if there were no witnesses it didn't count. Regardless the reasons I always felt guilty afterwards, and I wasn't hurting no one but myself. I can honestly say I haven't snuck food since I recently started on this site and started recording all my food. It helps hold me accountable to…

My husband and my boys suffer from no backside but my side of the family was always pretty broad in the butt. My middle son, who's 24, says he resembles a bullfrog standing on it's hind legs..and sadly, he does.

I still have enough *kitten* for both of us :)

LMAO! Reminds me of the first couple days of P90X. I was cussing Tony Horton just as bad. I could barely bend down to sit on the stool to pee, my legs were so sore

Stick to your guns. Maybe suggest you go out to eat somewhere where you have healthier choices? He needs to support you and you shouldn't feel guilty for wanting to improve your health. You should focus on time spent together, not food eaten together. Just advice from someone who has been married a long time :) Good luck

I lost 83 lbs years ago and slowly gained every bit back. I just joined the site Monday and have been doing really well, but at my age (48) and all this water I been drinking, I am going to have to start buying stock in toilet paper.
