I have yo-yo'd two or three times from 225 to 190-ish over the last five years. This time I've made it stick and I'm at 187. Failure is inevitable. Don't beat yourself up because we've all done it. All you can do is build toughness from it. Build those mental callouses so that when life throws you the inevitable problem…

That article is crap. Evolution tells our bodies to eat as much as we can when we can, because winter is coming and we have to survive on our stores (around our bellies or in the cave). It's why we crave fat, sugar and salt. Those are rare in nature, so your brain tells you to crave it, to seek it out. If we were burning…

Very inspirational. Great job!

I always acknowledge--and only acknowledge--other runners with a quick wave, who 99.9 percent of the time do the same in return. The bikers that pass me are too busy staring at the front tires of their $2,000 bikes to bother with the likes of us bipeds. ;)

I don't use the forums much because I don't care what any of you think.

Go for time, not distance. 30 minutes at the pace I described is great--just fast enough so that it's hard to carry on a conversation. (You may have to talk to yourself. ;) )

I agree with much that has been said. I'm a long-time runner. 1) You ran too far. Go for time, not distance. 30 minutes at the pace below is plenty. 2) Slow down. You should just be at the point where it's hard to carry on a conversation. 3) You have to be hydrated. 4) Check with your doctor before you take up an intense…

I have a goal of losing 60 lbs. 16 lost so far. Feel free to add me!

Wow. I can't believe any respectable doctor or nutritionist would recommend feeding any child hot dogs and chicken nuggets*. I think you need a new doctor or nutritionist. I'm neither, but I would have to think that if she's meeting developmental goals for her age, what does her weight matter? Some kids are just skinny.…

Running. Not jogging. Running.

Hello, men. Looking forward to losing weight with you! Dave

Hello--anybody in here?
-
I've been running for 25 years. No one will judge you. Do your best, do it for YOU and good luck!

Ignore the haters. Fine job on saving someone's life! And by all means log the calories. I'd put it down as something like 120 minutes of intense calisthenics.

It's college. Have fun in moderation and hit the gym a lot, which is what you're suggesting. No worries. Wanna trade places for a day? ;)

A little Ad Block Plus goes a long way.

Lots of restaurants and fast food in your diet. We've all been there and no one's perfect, but I'd cut back on the eating out. Then you'll REALLY feel bad when you eat at Denny's! ;)
