you could probably do aquagym or aquazumba, the water takes the strain off your joints and the workout is fun

Yes Brit here, from Yorkshire :) (which should be its own country, but that's another matter lol). Need to lose a few lbs and change my eating habits for life :)

a small container with Ainsley Harriot couscous and a heap of salad :) Nowadays I can eat salad without dressing, I have somehow adapted my taste. Sometimes it takes time to adapt to liking things. I also take soups because I have access to a microwave.

I probably would if they have the same cooking time. My quinoa is 20 mins. Or add it part way through? I have never tried them together though.

So 0.08 g (sodium) is 80mg of sodium - far from the amount shown!!!!! And salt equivalent is 0.05g x 4 (400g tin) is 200mg - still far from the amount shown!! I am very confused by MFP and my nutrition calculator!!!! Thanks for all your advice, people
-
thank you
-
Do you know how an amount for 0.08 per 100g translates? I am not sure what the amounts on MFP mean ? I need 2,300 of sodium - that can't be grams!

I think there is competition in yoga - that is with yourself. Be the best you can, and try and be better than the last time you did yoga practice. Challenge your body. Remember to go careful if something is sore, but otherwise breathe into the poses and push your limit carefully. Always concentrate on your breath as it…

I can't say I know how you feel (I have fried eggs!!). But I LOVE the yoga poses. Perhaps speak to the instructor and see if they can suggest anything? Or practice at home to see if you can get used to it? I would hate for you to give up as the benefits will soon show.

I must try this but I don't have a ball. I think there are some exercise balls at my gym.

Squats are my favourite weight exercise. Walking is my favourite CV exercise. Or outdoor cycling but I only do this in summer. Reverse (or sun) warrior is my favourite yoga exercise. Overall I love yoga the most.

This book is an introduction to very gentle yoga for over 40s! There are a few gentle poses in here. Still it is better to go to a class, but this book is interesting and is about more than just the poses. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Yoga-Life-Strong-Flexible-Balanced/dp/0857830430 there is info about relaxation, meditation…

I agree. If you have any health issues, you definitely need a yoga teacher for advice, rather than making your own workout at home.
-
It's probably best to find a class as the instructor and advice helps. If you can't find a class you just need a mat and a DVD - but I think that would be harder as a beginner as you won't be able to watch the DVD while upside down lol. You will have to research the different types of yoga too. Hatha yoga is more gentle…

We don't have that around here that I know of. I do a type of astanga/vinyasa yoga once or twice week plus Bodybalance (Les Mills) once a week.
-
Hi! i love your avatar. I have an OM tattoo :) Going out to yoga in a few minutes. Second class of the day lol. The morning one was Les Mills Bodybalance which is a mixture of t'ai ch'i, pilates and yoga. A fab way to start a Monday. I do my own stretches and bends sometimes but never proper yoga vinyasas on my own.
-
Yoga for me - I love it Also any Les Mills classes. Bodybalance (like yoga) and Bodypump (endurance weight lifting) are my favourites - its something to do with the pumping tunes I think, that and the motivation the instructors give you - you get a fresh new choreographed workout every 3 months too. I also like aquazumba -…

being told I look like I have lost weight (by more than one person), being told I look fantastic by another :) I am not vain but people noticing does make a difference to the way I feel. Also my jeans are too big now!

provamel - you can get it in little individual drink cartons too

Progress will be very slow, but sure and slow is good. Don't expect miracles. Just keep on going and you WILL see results. Are you following a well known type of diet? You need to make sure you are getting good nutrition! Apparently it takes 4 weeks for you to notice any change, and more for others to see it. Keep going.…

how much does beer and dominoes cost? In relation to fruit and vegetables? You can make a soup or a stew for less than £3!

yes indeed, the availability of resources in our area might be unique to us! We can recommend things from shops/markets to gyms/walking routes :) Definitely useful

That was me. 151lbs, 5'5". Already down to 141! But want to go further. Only just joined MFP though x Hence my ticker shows 2lbs lost instead of 10lbs lost! I exercise a lot, but found that changing my eating habits completely has helped. I still snack but only on fruit - 1 apple or 15 blueberries or something. I also fill…

Choose a nutritious healthy option. Even in Nando's the veggie burger in a bun is a pretty low cal option and you can have salads as well. If you can, look up the nutrition info online before you go somewhere. Another option is to just have whatever you want as long as you stay on track the rest of the time.
