I was just discussing with the owner of the company I work for that I had weighed in last Saturday at 178 and he said "Are you sure your not malnurished?" I replied well if I am I would be surprised that I could ride my bike 34 miles last Sunday in under 3 hours and I feel great!

Can't run due to severe arthritis. All my loss has been from swimming (love to swim) and more recently bicycle riding (love this also). Oh yeah portion control played a big part.

I hope to inspire as well. Here is my story: I was a fat kid and obese my entire life until a month or so ago and I will never go back. The heaviest I have seen on a scale was 295 lbs. About a month later I was affraid to step on it again and decided to try to do something about it. I lost a few pounds and then re-injured…

My father and my sister both have had gastric bypass and I must say I would not go down that path unless there was some physical attribute that keeps me from being active. My father vomits everyday of his life now and can only keep down certain foods. He lost a ton of weight but has slowly been gaining it back. As for my…

I have been fat my entire life and now that I am a healthy weight I do have excess skin. I am almost at my ultimate goal of 175 and once there I plan on adding on around 5 lbs of muscle and holding at 180 so when I reach this stage I will let you know if anything changes. As for now I have started saving to get a skin…

I am with you and my story is similar I was a large baby at birth and stayed large my entire life. I was the fat kid in school and the obese adult and now I am still trying to wrap my head around not being that person anymore. Due to my arthritis in my knee I made this change that you are talking about and I will never go…

I live in Newberg but the Fanno Creek Trail that goes from Tualatin to Tigard then Beaverton and I believe a little into SW Portland is a great place to get some exercise in. I started in Tualatin and rode almost the entire trail and back in 2 hours. However it is a little tougher for bikes since the path is not super wide…

I was pretty worried about my tat's changing as well but luckily they are mostly in places where I didn't have a lot of fat so they really haven't changed much.
-
Thanks everyone your compliments feel great!

Actually with all my tats being on my arms and legs I don't see a huge difference. I was pretty worried about that as well but I think if the tats would have been on my stomach or back then I would have had a bigger problem with it.

The knee does feel better not having to move around so much weight but unfortunately the pain is still there and I have to wear a brace day in and day out. As for being more active I am stuck with only swimming and biking. So I purchased a nice bike last Saturday and have been putting a few miles on it on the weekends. As…

I have been on MFP for awhile now and just found this group. I was born and raised up north of Seattle and moved to the Portland area 16 years ago. I live in Newberg now. I recently hit my first goal and am now just 5 lbs away from a healthy BMI!!!! Feel free to add me if you would like!
