  • Thanks! I attempted Week 7 Day 3 today and totally failed! The humidity was too much for me again and I only lasted 17 minutes before I couldnt breathe enough to keep going. I'm taking tomorrow off sine it rained today and I know it's going to be super-humid in the morning and muddy! I will attempt day 3 again on Monday!
  • I'm starting Week 7 tomorrow and all I can think is "I'm gonna die." LOL! I've managed to progress relatively quickly through the program, but my pace is SLOOOWWWW!!! I figure pace will come with practice. At this point I just want to get through the program without having to repeat any days. That is my main motivator to…
  • Just finished W6D1 this morning! I was SCARED to do the 10 min run, since i had a hard enough time with the 8 min run in W5! But, I did it! I was slow but still moving, and even had a little extra energy to spare at the end! I'm currently doing 3 days in a row then taking one off. Not recommended, but it works for me. I'm…
  • I've always suffered from shin splints to some degree when I run. Yesterday I overdid it and they were getting pretty bad. Today they are GONE! I can't even feel them when I press on the normally sore spots. What works for me is massage and stretching. Any time I'm sitting down, I point my toes down and stretch and hold…
  • Have you tried wearing a hat of visor to shield your glasses from the rain a little?
  • I just did my first rain run this morning. I'm so glad I got up and dressed before I ever looked outside or I probably would have been tempted to crawl back in bed. The back this about it was that since I'm in Phoenix, it wasn't a cool rain and it feel like I was running in a steam room. But, i completed my run, came home…
  • I know what you mean about the gym memberships. I do that same thing. Such a waste..... I got lucky this morning and it was 78 degrees when I was out there at 5! However, it was a little rainy, so the humidity negated any benefit I would have felt from the cooler temp. And of course there was NO breeze, whatsoever. there…
  • *Correction* That should be Cardio Trainer, not tracker. Sorry!
  • I use cardio tracker for android to track my exercise. It is free! It shows your speed or pace (you can choose which you want) in current, min, max, and average, and well as a bunch of other stuff.
  • WTG! I felt the same way today and def looking fwd to W3D2 tomorrow!
  • 1. What Week/Day are you on? W3D1 (completed this morning!) 2. How do you feel? Generally, amazing! I'm so proud of myself for being able to do this! During the run, Im tired for the first couple run segments, but after that I kind get into a grove. By the end of the cool down, I still have to turn around and walk back to…
  • I tried to do C25K last year and it was an epic failure. I couldn't even complete W1D1 and promptly gave up after several disheartening attempts. This time around I did a few things differently. Rather than jumping right into the program, I started doing some longer walks first. I was walking/hiking about 3 to 5.5 miles a…
  • I have one that is made by Philips (found at WalMart). It's just a lycra "sleeve" with a pocket in it. The whole iPod Touch fits in the pocket. It doesn't pinch, slide, or jiggle, and I can throw it in the wash when it gets all sweaty. I tried the Belkin one with the velcro, but I felt it was jiggling and bouncing around…
  • I'm a newbie desert runner, too! I live in Phx and have made a habit of getting up at 4:30 AM and being on the trail by 5 AM. It's not really "cool," but it's way better than the midday 100+ degree temps with the sun beating down on me. I wear a hydration pack with ice water (and ID, car keys, first aid kit, and cell…
  • So, I just started C25K on Aug 7. After talking to a friend and telling her I was starting to run (I have NEVER been a runner!!), she decided she wanted me to do a 5K with her before she leaves for boot camp in September. The 5K we decided on is Sept 22, so that gives me less than 8 weeks to complete the program. As of…
  • I tan as an ongoing motivator! I love it. As long as I stick to my diet, I will keep tanning. It's also done some wonders for my skin, like keeping me from randomly breaking out in hives every few days. As long as my skin looks better, I want to show it off a little, so it makes me want to stick to my diet.
  • When I got under 200 I took my son to Disneyland. It was only 17 pounds, but that was a huge deal for me. When I reach my goal I want to go on a real vacation, complete with bikini!
  • No family here to have Easter dinner with, but I did make eggs benedict for my son & I this morning! Yummy! And only 215 cals per serving!
