Why would a horse toss its head? Is it something this breed do in relation to their strange sounding gait? Was there a reason originally for wanting a horse to walk with front legs and trotwith back legs? It sounds a bit unnatural to me....Having read back I sound a bit judgemental - not meaning to be just that where I…

Can I ask what is a Foxtrotter, and a tiedown? Just curious to translate into UK speak lol - do you mean a martingale? :-)

I will accept your request:-) Will warn you tho that Im being a bit rubbish on here at the minute tho cause of lack of time for logging. 4 horses lots of other animals, 18 month old twins and a 5 yo & DH having some health issues make it difficult to make time for myself to excersise or log currently!! I am here tho - just…

Never never never!!

I dont think mine covers me for personal injury & wages - I think youd have to get some sort of health or critical illness / accident cover for that... x

We insure our horses so if anything happens we can afford to treat them. I had a cob which would have had to be put down if I hadn't had insurance - he needed an operation which cost nearly £5,000 with the after treatment etc. I couldn't have afforded it otherwise - I don't know what its like over there but here vetinary…

Difficult as mine is all wrapped up with my horse insurance. Look at NFU policies I have found they are easiest to deal with over the years - not sure what mine include but you need to ask yourself what it would add that you dont have already through house or health / life policies - just what scenario wouldnt be covered…

Not a well known Stallion - Kalistalodge the Eliminater (lovely looking!) but he is from a well known line of light Duns - great grandsire Trevallion Flash Jack. Mum also had good Irish TB breeding with half brother to Shergar on one side and Be My Native on the other. Doesn't all mean a lot though unless she turns out fit…

Ah yes have tried the strips but Hubby is too bust hanging onto the horse and stuffing food down it lol Had to swap this morning to some new tape - less noisy but undid too fast and not enough stick which made it almost impossible to aply. Still she is much better today so after a swift consultation with my vet friend…

Hey thanks - with baby twins we have plenty of those around lol Have to continue another 2 days cause the hole had closed over so nothing was drainng - agggah!

Thinking about it I did have another cob once who was quite young and started napping on trying to leave the yard - one short very sharp crack with the stick and he was so surprised he never did it again. Also employed this method with my mare who wouldnt load (having tried coaxing, food, NH etc etc before). Once was all…

yey I bet it feels great:-)

If shes only just started this I would say something is up. Check what has been happening with others who ride her. I had this with a coloured cob who I tried the forcing approach to get him past tractors (he froze & refused to move - embarassing whn the thi8ng has stopped/reversed/ pulled over etc for you to go past!). It…

My friend has them on her FB & I gave money to them last year but I give money to the Brook Hospital for Animals on a monthly basis which is a great charity because it recognises how important working animals are to their owners and works with local people to change their practises and cruelty through ignorance and…

Ive been riding all my life and it still tires me out if I do a few hours or an intensive lesson so I recon it uses calories. If you were a professional runner you would still burn calories doing a sprint or a marathon even tho your body is used to it:-)

Hey there she is Salsa - lovely girl:-)
